Fulton Hogan Melbourne Airport Runway Overlay Project - asphalt works completion May 2023

Our team working on the Melbourne Airport Runway Overlay Project reached a significant milestone in May - completing asphalting works!
This once in a decade project saw crews work throughout the night to install:
✅ more than 38,000t of new asphalt
✅ 10,000t of patching
✅ 28,000t of new wearing course
✅ 265,000m2 of profiling across the 2.5km long runway
This was facilitated by our partners AVIONICS LIMITED that removed and reinstated 600 lights and installed 370 new light foundations. The full scope of works is scheduled for completion in 2024. #melbourneairport
