She was Aretha's favourite singers. She had a beautiful emotive voice which Aretha loved, Candi used it in such a beautiful way, very similar to how Aretha delivered, minus the shouts, where they are almost crying the song, it's just so sweet. When the greatest singer of all time says that you are her favourite, you know you are bad.

Most soul ballads/r&b is written in that range. G K and C S are both amazing singers, but Gladys is royalty, like Aretha. She is the Empress of soul.
