My grandmother had one of these units. But the funny thing about it was she had it covered with a fancy table cloth with some pictures of her dad in the Lebanese army. But us kids never knew there was a turntable under it. Anyway after my grandmother passed away me and my mum went over to clean the house and sort out the furniture and to my delight when I pulled the cover of the unit I was mind blowing what I found. Put the plug in and got a lot of crackle in the volume knobs but everything worked fine. So now it’s been polished, cleaned the pots with deoxit and sits nicely in my living room being used
I have the same problem with Where is it?? I bought a hard to find Astatic 89tx cartridge at the recycling center, and put it somewhere and I cannot find it.. I do have a couple of old CB Radios. One is a Johnson Messenger, and it works, but Where is It??
The stereo you have pictured at 3:03 is my favorite stereo, My elderly neighbor actually has the exact same set, and I've been trying to get her to sell it to me for ages! It's absolutely gorgeous!!

Good Day! Very nice look at so many Magnavox models. I had a Farnsworth tv from "41. Was still watchable in late "80's. Also a few RCA's in decent shape. Big mono jobs. Now only a Clarion MK1, by Electrohome. Weighs a ton...15" woofer, & Garrard changer exactly as you showed in pics. Reluctance cart. stopped working, but tuner/amp functional. Were'nt those piano-keyed German sets nutty? My brother/I each had East German sets. Could not keep 'em going. Really liked the 1970's Mag, at the last!

It has totally sealed speaker enclosures 1/2 inch thick, Electro Voice t-35 HF drivers on Magnavox Horns 2-15" woofers and a very unique high quality electronically crossed over tube amp, no crossover caps used. This stereo cost 650.00 in 1961. It was next to the top of the line, which was 1250.00 Visit the Magnavox friends on Yahoo Groups .
The Magnavox Danish modern Imperial I have is a 1959, pictured at 3.33, a 1960 Imperial, like your neighbors in a different furniture style at 3.27, and the 1960 Concert Grand ad showing it open at 7:05. The Concert Grand is quite collectible, and has amazing sound. I have known people to drive across two states just to get one, They are hard to find, and so are the true Imperials.Hope you can eventually get that one.
Yeah, it's completely different from the Magnavox I have. It was made around the same time, and the record changer says Imperial Micromatic on it, In fact, it's the same changer my neighboy has in hers, but on mine, the 2 doors slide acorss.
Hi Mike I have 3 RCA orthophonic Hi-Fi's posted. They are not stereo, and two are table models and one is a console. I just bought a portable RCA 45 player that is an orthophonic hi-fi, but it is still being worked on. Just type in RCA maynardcat and it will list them all for you to check out.
I love these console stereos, but I wish the cartridges and the needles were better quality in these things. It is too bad that they are not better quality. Is it not true that these needles in these things destroy records that are originally in great shape? I love Al Caiola by the way....

It is opened back style with side firing lighter magnet woofers and basic amp. I have it posted playing Dansero, I don't have the Danish modern Imperials posted.
I am still trying to find someone who has the stereo at 3:03 for sale. Ive been looking on craigslist, ebay, and everywhere!! Can not find it anywhere!! it must be very very rare. Magnavox must not have made too many of these. I love the Imperial in the French Provincial style caabinet
Love the music! I watched your video as I am trying to think of the name of a wooden console stereo I saw for sale, but it is gone now. I know it was brown not blonde, lift lid, made in Germany or W. Germany, I thought dated 1967. It's front looked classic ...maybe mediteranean style....but it had the record player, 8 track tape player, and cassette player....maybe radio. The name I thought started with a M...Mon .......or L .... ; I researched it once but I can't get it to pop back up so I cannot remember the spelling. Does anyone know of the console maker/name I am looking for? It is no longer for sale, but I can't even ask them what happened to it or to try to find another one like it. It was not "modern" sleek, long, extended looking and not heavy, clunky gaudy looking. It was nice, nothing fancy but classic. Thanks for any help if anyone knows what the name is I am trying to think of.
