For anyone who confuses about Goblin and his bride first met. This scene was NOT their first met. The umbrella scene where they were passing by each other in the original episode WAS their first met. This scene (has been deleted/ was in Director's cut DVD, not broadcasted on TV) after their first met in the rain, Goblin found out she's his bride and try to protect her everywhere even she didn't know his existence yet until she first summon him by turn off her birthday candles at the coast.
Is it because they were trying to stay true to the script? The part where he couldn't see her future for a while. And I'm assuming for time constraints as well
Seriously I didn't even know there were deleted scenes. If there's more then please add them. Even after 4 years my obsession for this show haven't stopped.
This scene is so good and heart warming... but it ruins the fact that Goblin didn't know before that she is his bride... So I think it was better for the story to delete it..

I have just finished this drama after hearing many comments about it - I now understand why they say it's legendary now. Most of its scenes are magical through music and visual background. Perfect!! Though still a little bitter about the ending, I'm devastated by the turn of events of the last 3 ep and especially by Grim Reaper & Sunny's suffering through and through😭

so after years, I only got to know that goblin already being a guardian to eun tak even before eun tak blow the candle for her birthday. I remember the clothes that kim shin is wearing is the same as his clothes when eun tak first summon him
It would have been nice that those scenes were included too. But seeing it now is not so bad also. Just rewatched Goblin yesterday for the 10th times. I felt comforted to just watching them again and again while i am in home quarantine due to being Covid-19 positive. No matter how many time i watch them i always feel like i am watching them for the first time.
Those who are confused let me sum it up so first Goblin and Eun tak meets in the rain that was the first time they saw each other if I include this deleted scene then we can say after that first eye lock Goblin tried to protect Eun tak and that was the same day when Eun tak Summoned Goblin. However later this was deleted because maybe the director wanted to show that even Goblin didn't knew Eun tak because he said that she was not the bride
When comes to Grim Reaper's and God's K Drama's their are so many Drama's which are worth watch and especially the goblin the lonely and great god is an epic korean drama...it would be nice if the ending of the drama is changed to the grim reaper and sunny remembered the goblin and his bride ji eun-tak at their new reincarnated life and all of their past lives like how ji eun-tak remembered even she reincarnated. so, they all end up being together in the house which the goblin and grim reaper and yoo deok-hwa lived but this type of ending is also good and ❤️❤️❤️...

I understand why they deleted this scene. It would have been strange to have him following her around before they even met at the ocean. I mean, they could have spun it that way, that he knew she was his bride from the get-go but it played off better that he didn't. That he just happened to see her once in the street, was confused because he couldn't see her future but then they both moved on. When she first calls him by blowing out her birthday candle, his confusion then as to how she could summon him seems more genuine. If he already knew she was his bride that might not have worked. Him knowing that she's not normal but not understanding how or why better sets up the whole idea of the two of them going through this conflict of 'Yes, I'm your bride' 'Okay well then prove it' until she admits she can see his sword. If he already knew she was all of that would not have worked. I like that they left it like that.
I accidentally play Guardian:The Lonely and Great God at Netflix when I read The Info.And I continue watching it with my Mom and She Cried! She's the type Hard to involve to Dramas or Something like that.Honestly I can't believe my mom Watch The Drama With me

So to summarize, this scene was deleted cuz it won't make sense. If goblin knew she is his bride, then the scene where she point out about the sword on his chest won't make sense. Cuz apparently this scene was supposed to be before her birthday cake wishes happened. So yeah doesn't make sense to the plot then
