This is a bird raised in captivity and in the wild they almost never mimic human made sounds, though they can have such a large repertoire of calls and sounds, that people imagine they are hearing human sounds. The "laser gun" call is not mimicry but a natural call common to all superb lyrebirds.
I think that particular sound is their actual mating call. I've seen many different oes in captivity and in the wild, that seem to have that call. Aren't they fantastic? 🙂👍 Blessings and kindest regards David from Australia. 🌏 🙄☝️
I love how you can almost see this birdie deciding which cool noise it heard to show off it’s impression of next. “Ooh! More hoomans! Imma make noises at them, they love that! I wonder, which should I do first?”
Amazing to have one visit your yard! I heard one at the Taranga Zoo in 2019, that bird caught a female announcer's voice, but the bird was facing away & I couldn't quite make out what the announcement was!
I just absolutely love Lyrebirds, they literally make me cry in amazement. Such beautiful creatures. My favourite! I think God just made them for shear joy! 😂❤ Blessings and kindest regards David from Australia. 🌏 🙄☝️
I have heard these birds many times. My fav is the siren and evacuate now. From Taronga zoo when the lions escaped. One I heard was “the zoo will be closing in 15 minutes make your way to the exit. Many do the pew pew laser gun, I’ve heard it is common to all so is a sound they make naturally. We are impressed, yet some females are hard to win.
There's a story about a man that got lost in the Australian wilderness and got even further lost because a lyrebird was imitating helicopter propellers and radio chatter deeper into the foliage
That bird would drive our dogs nuts. It would probably imitate the sound that our Ring camera makes when someone is at the door and the dogs would run there only to find out that it was a false alarm.
Nova is fantastic ❤😊 when I’m working in his area I’ve only ever heard him imitating or singing and occasionally like in this video speaking English aha! I’m sure RUclips has some footage somewhere ❤😊
This bird is literally a living version of scrolling through the ringtones on an old phone
Nova has so much more than what he shows in this video ❤
@@roxyryan1099 yes

When he said: 🪚🪓⚙️🔩🔧🗣👤👥
I felt that
Also laser gun and camera click
😂😂
😂 It appears it thinks the laser toy sound is "sexiest"... bc it did a tail feathers display during that one. Lyrebirds are incredible vocalists !!

Both birds (lyrebirds and kookaburras) live in the same habitat so it makes senss
Its like he went up to the human just to say “hey you want to see all these cool sounds i can make?”
Amazing to have one visit your yard! I heard one at the Taranga Zoo in 2019, that bird caught a female announcer's voice, but the bird was facing away & I couldn't quite make out what the announcement was!

I love it when it sratches itself and then turns into a camera out of nowhere
I would be so tempted to play different cool sounds for him to add to his repertoire.
Lyrebird and Mockingbird could have some odd conversations together.
0:29 that’s an Australian magpie imitation right ?
0:44 and kookaburra?
Yes 😊 he is always making imitations of magpies and kookaburras, it’s so fascinating 😅❤
I want a lyrebird now
I was in there megalong valley tea rooms and a bunch of them started making car alarm noises. So much for peace and quiet 🤣
wonder what this bird sounded like before humans?

The human like talking creeped me out at first 😅

This thing is a birdwatchers worst nightmare imitating all of those calls
Obviously this little bird sound is much better than my 90's cheap mp3 player...
Amazing grace and God bless the planet 🙏

I'm curious. When the lyrebird is not imitating other sounds, what does it sound like?

Impressive.
Held at the audience of a pigeon and he's good at dubstep 2
Incredible ❤
perhaps we could use this bird to record messages...
How come it makes the same sounds as the one in the Attenborough clip?
Because attenborough filmed the same bird
🤣 when he suddenly throws the tail feathers forward like rifles and starts blasting
Rich Litle would be envious
It's like tuning analogue radio.
As a person who lives in Australia this is true
باسم الله ماشاء الله طائر رائع شكله تحفه
