I love that Endeavor's plan to be a changed man is to pretend to destroy his past self. He's done that twice now 😂 (And before anyone goes “it’s for different reasons,” yeah I know. It’s just funny that it’s happened twice)
I named myself Endeavour, which means there will never be a day I comfort myself saying "I did my best". That has to be the most poignant summary of his character. There will never be a day where he did enough to make his kids grow up safe, so he'll never feel the satisfaction of knowing he gave them that. There will never be a day where he truly surpassed All Might, so he'll never feel like his best is enough. There will never be a day where he truly deserves his family's forgiveness, so he can't give up trying to make things right. Even when he's heroic, it's his duty be a hero so he can't even feel good about it. I love this character.
This was a really good episode, but one thing that has consistently disappointed me, not that I blame the animators, is how horikoshi has made absolutely insanely good snap shots of certain seems and emotions in his works, and they just aren't there in the translation, likely due to in part to not being in black and white. The scene where AFO quells the quirk rebellion, and endeavors chokes his past self being great examples from this episode.
I gotta say for what we got in the anime for endeavors backstory if he does show why he was like this as a hero and a father because after witnessing his father‘s death and failure as a hero and the death of a young girl who he ended up failing to save, two deaths can really change a person feeling knowing that they don’t want to go through that kind of thing as they did. To me no wonder he wanted so much to aim at top hero like all might and how he was afraid of facing toya because knowing that his firework could burn his whole body badly he just couldn’t face The failure of what could’ve been a power of a hero that could succeed and surpass all might; it’s tough for him to face it physically and emotionally which is why he makes his wife Rei take care of him and the other kids so he can focus on his own way of how to surpass all might and not face his fear of failure. Does anyone think that this might be really selfish
This episode is insane, I have so many questions. Will he be able to control the rewind and stop it as he pleases? Will it rewind him back to having the original AFO quirk so him AND shiki can both have it at full strength? Will it restore previously stolen quirks which he passed on to other people? Will it rewind the stolen quirks inside him to their previous states, like before he stole them? If he has rewind for himself can it also rebel against him like the other quirks are, will Eri be the one to kill this dude?
It is a copy, and he can't control copied quirks well, we can assume that him saying "I don't need this body so I'm going to use this" is him confirming that rewind won't stop until he is turn to nothingness
There's an interesting polarity between Shigaraki (Tenko's) dad and Endeavor. They both have a tragic past and did terrible things but only one realized how twisted his path was. The other was too jaded to care and it cost him his life.
I loved this episode, but I cannot stop thinking how this episode was about both Numer Twos about to beat the main villains, only to realize that it was not over after their most powerful attacks.
You gotta give it to Shigaraki. He is in a trap made to kill him, is quirkless and against some of the strongest heroes, and yet this menace is just playing around. He could destroy the coffin with one punch to the Ground but chooses to personally torture all of them.
Ok, so this is gonna definitely sound wrong, but I'm going to defend Endeavor here. Whenever I see people talk about Endeavor it feels so wrong even putting what he's done in the same ballpark as the villains. I understand sympathizing with the villains but even if he was fully abusive, which is kinda debatable, he wouldn't match up to what shigaraki has done as a villain. Especially because he has worked as a hero essentially his whole adult life. There are countless lives he's saved. Now don't get me wrong, he is still awful for having committed abuse, but that he will never be able to make up for that feels a bit too harsh. Those who were abused don't need to forgive him and he can keep atoning as he wishes, but by the good he's done overall and continues to do, he has definitely made up for what he's done. It doesn't erase his sins at all, and he should still be punished, but there has to be a limit else why would there ever be a limit on prison sentences? If we truly believed people couldn't change or make up for their sins then why don't we just execute or imprison every sinner? To clarify another thing. Those affected by him do not need and should not feel the need to forgive him whatsoever; however, that doesn't mean that Endeavor should be treated or judged the same as a villain like Shigaraki. If we were to take an Abuser who is seeking atonement and another who isn't and we were to treat both of them the same regardless of who's trying to make up for what they've done or not, then there was no point in trying to atone in the first place and the abuser shouldn't have even decided to change, right? Maybe there's something I just don't comprehend or maybe I'm reading into the situation incorrectly, but at least that's what I think. Sorry for the large spiel. It's just I keep seeing people talk about Endeavor in the same way, and it's like an itch in my head that kept growing and growing until finally I saw your video and thought I had to at least write about my thoughts before they exploded out of my skull. Also, I'll mention what I meant when I said debatable above. The reason I'm leaving this to the end is that, I'm not really watching the anime except for a few moments on youtube, but I read the manga a long time ago, so I'm a bit iffy on the timeline, but if the whole backstory of the todoroki's hasn't been told yet then please skip the next paragraph to avoid spoilers. Okay, so to explain what I meant. Endeavor was obviously abusive, but what is confusing to me is that people always make him seem like a very physically abusive man when he wasn't really? He was more emotionally abusive. We see that originally he had an arranged marriage with Rei, but that they eventually grew to care for one another and that Endeavor loved his son Touya, and when it was known that Touya could generate stronger flames, Endeavor was ecstatic, but this led to the revelation that Touya's flames were dangerous to himself. Endeavor lost his father to flames because he attempted to save a little girl, so he tried to take Touya's interest away form being a hero in the same way he thought his father might have been saved. By removing the original motivation. In the father's case by having saved the girl, which in this case is interpreted as him creating a child more suited to being a hero so that Touya wouldn't be interested. This led to extreme emotional neglect of Touya as well as eventually Natsuo. This also led to the strained relationship between Enji and Rei who both had no idea how to deal with Touya's situation. This all led to Touya's demise which further caused both parents to mentally break. Endeavor as he essentially became like a drunkard, but more in the sense that he was drunk on turning Shoto into the number one and thus physically abusing him in the guise of training, and Rei by permanently scarring her son. The scarring led Endeavor to slap Rei. I feel there's some misconception that Endeavor was also physically abusive towards her throughout their relationship but unless I'm mistaken and forgotten, that was the only time he physically hurt her. The other children other than Shoto suffered emotional neglect, and only Shoto was subjected to physical. I'm not trying to denigrate emotional neglect because it's just as bad and sometimes can be even worse than physical, but I just thought it was necessary to state the order of events and all moments of abuse to explain my point further that I feel it's debatable how abusive Enji actually was. Because in the blank spots that haven't been told to us, we could assume that maybe he was also physically abusive with the other children, and thus it could be debated that he is completely physically abusive to everyone, or we could assume he wasn't beating them all up in the moments we haven't been told. I'd also like to mention something that I feel is also ignored by everyone: Rei also shares the blame for abusing their children. She physically scarred Shoto, and was emotionally neglectful of Touya. Now the emotional neglect does stem from her not knowing how to deal with the problem so she just ignores it, but it's why I state she also shares the blame. Endeavor was also emotionally abusive or Rei when he blames her for not being able to solve Touya's problems and prevent him form burning himself, and while that may be his defensive mechanism because he doesn't want that responsibility, as Touya is his son, he doesn't have the right to throw that responsibility away. Both share the blame of abuse and I'm confused why most people don't really mention her part in all of this? Horikoshi does recognize this though and does write to account for it, but most just ignore her for some reason? I think she's very well written, and it's a shame that she isn't talked about more. Sorry for the loads of text but I couldn't hold it all in, unfortunately. I had to say most of what was in my mind. I guess your video was the one that made the dam in my head burst lol. Nice reaction as well btw.

This was a very good episode. The animation was stellar, the music choices were amazing, and the voice acting was godlike as always. Ngl, Endeavor's voice acting has always been the most consistently great thing about his character. Tetsu Inada really knocked it out of the park, and I'm sure Patrick Seitz will be amazing as well. Only downside for me is that while this fight is super good, I just don't like it very much. Writing-wise, it's kind of everything that I don't like about Endeavor as a character. I kind of wish that Horikoshi put more effort into Endeavor's atonement rather than his hero work. The closest this fight has to him atoning is just, him pretending to burn his past self yet again. Feels like a waste. Still though, for what it's worth, the hero side of Endeavor's character is still fun to watch despite not being written very well. Although Bakugo's moments were also super great ngl.

(No manga spoilers. Shh. 🤫)
What AFO fails to realize is that the High-End Nomu attack on Endeavor tragically left him with zero fucks to give.
I love that Endeavor's plan to be a changed man is to pretend to destroy his past self. He's done that twice now 😂
(And before anyone goes “it’s for different reasons,” yeah I know. It’s just funny that it’s happened twice)
Probably shows that he would kill himself if he didn't have any responsabilities
Alicia: Lets go, Bakugou had so much progress and development!!!
Shigaraki: Bro, i dont give a fucc about your progress and development 😂

Yeah, mha is seriously one of those series thats art just can’t be done proper justice unless you make toei start working like mappa
Interesting...I suppose I should buy the manga to see this then, good to know
Villains Are Also Sinister When Wounded
For those in the know. Next episode......It's happening.
OH NO! 😰
I know I’m not ready I thought I was but I’m not
This episode is insane, I have so many questions. If he has rewind for himself can it also rebel against him like the other quirks are, will Eri be the one to kill this dude?
do you want me to spoil?
26:39 I wish more animated shows would do this, I can patiently impatiently wait for episodes if I know that quality is being put into the episodes.
Shitaraki really said “i don’t give a fuck about your character development” 😭😭
Next episode is going to be a real heart stopper
Fr this episode got me crying, then screaming, then crying, then screaming again
Bro, what endeavor said whenever he would like, sometimes not condone himself and ever saying that he did a good job it sometimes like how I feel sometimes whenever I do things because like I can relate to this character so much
GURL i was lying in bed eating jelly beans watching this video and when you said "i spent years beating my kids im prepared for this" i choked on one😭 you ever choke and laugh at the same time?😭
You're not ready for next episode
Her heart won't be able to take it
Before I saw the video title I was like "Wtf? Is Alicia reacting to Firepunch?"

Fact: The Star Wars are ALL Jar Jar’s Fault! | Gnoggin
24:35-24:38 AUGH! I ACTUALLY FELT THAT! OW!
DAMN, ENDEAVOR IS FIRE RIGHT NOW, And Dark shadow really smashed in Afo,
With the growth of many of these characters throughout the story, especially Kacchans growth from a bully to friend to hero
There is a Retrospective of Act 1 of my hero academia on RUclips by AsarathaHS that I want you to react to when you finish this season
I believe the week break was because of the cour change (change of op/ed). Not entirely sure if they will do it again for the rest of the season. Also, yeah don’t watch the opening until the season is over
15:32 Hopefully we’ll see the rest of this panel when they come back to the fight. It would be a shame if one of the creepiest panels in the series only gets its top half adapted
Yes I was dissapointed
I’m not ready for the next episode not gonna spoil anything but I’m just not ready for it yet 😭
20:43 KACCHAN
I'm sure 3 more episode after this, and he should be fighting Tomora
Do you know how many times I've come to your channel and not found mha upload 😢 my prayers have answered 😭 😅😅😅
Not to leave a comment for another anime series, but seeing as I'm behind on the RWBY content, just thought you should know that the series has been picked up by Viz Media. Here's hoping Volume 10 gets announced some time soon, yeah?
I cant wait for the toga and uraraka fight😌😌
yea Think there is like 24 episode left , I think so Gonna see many Pop Off

Actually it was Delayed for the New Intro. Fyi Spoilers Sick Spoilers Definitely dont want to see it. Esp Almight so try to not watch unless you read the manga. Then go ahead shit is Fire cant wait!
What endeavour tried so hard to kill is the weak version of all for one who fought allmight in kamino. And that afo in kamino is way weaker than prime afo 😭🙏. Gg the npc heroes in next ep are cooked
Yes Big Spoilers
Holy FUCK the subtitles are so bad this episode. "The weakness of the weak" tf does that mean?? Do they mean "they inspired the wills"? maybe? maybe something like that?
Fucking crazy that Dub was so much better.
Let's go
Just remember bakugo is nowhere near shigaraki's level like he said.... chapter 410 is gonna be even more bs in the anime
Tf you mean he is faster and smarter thats why he won in chapter 410. 💀 Power wise he clearly didn't have enough. Its ironic that im hearing a load of bs from a kokushibu pfp cuz even in your verse you have yorichi who gets one shot by muzan which he himself admitted but yorichi can win cuz of battle iq. Strength isn't the deciding factor of any matchup
@@denji3397 im not talking about all that bs of strengh, iq, biq. Im talking overall. It's shown and said that bakugo is clearely weaker but somehow can win against prime afo while having the worst injuries known to man. And about yoriichi, he said he sense that every attacks from muzan is deadly (probably talking about the poison) but he's stronger overall. When i say stronger i don't mean strengh alone
@@kokushibo1014 tf you mean strong overall 😭😭?
Manga spoilers below
Like edgeshot pointed out and if you even have eyes. Readers can clearly see that bakugo speed blitz shiggy when he Awakened his quirk. Shiggy was time and time said to be prime allmight's equal but bakugo clearly speed blitz him and edgeshot clearly said "Bakugo left shigaraki in the dust". Moreover endeavour can fight with his guts injured and no limb, mirko literally had only one leg and fought. So injury is not something to consider when it comes to meta humans. Afo's final attack was the strongest attack in the manga and bakugo didn't "overpower" afo. Strength literally didn't matter. Bakugo used a delayed explosion which he set up earlier to blow up afo's face. Bakugo himself admitted that he couldn't have done all that if not for the others rewinding him more cuz he was injured fatally 😭😭. What manga are you reading lmao
@@denji3397 if bakugo was stronger than shigaraki they would have won the 4v1 but bakugo still "died". Idgaf about quirk awakening when ur a literal corpse that shouldn't be able to move. He didn't have real healing that's the biggest ptoblem. And when its questionned after the war he just ignore and say "well ot happened"
@@kokushibo1014 can you even read my guy ? 😭 Use eyes for once. Bakugo is not stronger but he was faster and speedblitz shiggy. Only reason he "died" cuz its a side effect of his cluster which he didn't know how to use. Thats explained in chapter 409 later when he comes back . 😭 Literally read the fooking manga bro. Also mha doesn't have fuking magic to heal people like in other anime . See naruto, naruto died and got a open heart surgery from sakura. Literally the same thing happened to bakugo but from edgeshot and jeanist. A demon slayer pfp yapping about this is fuking ironic lmao, considering ds characters are not meta humans like bakugo but survive their guts cut open by breathing different. 🙏😭 Ain't no way yall real. I'm too tired for this anyway.
