Thank you so much for taking the time to do this review. I literally had a $20 budget planner in my cart waiting to be purchased, but this video inspired me to look for a cheaper but equal version. I found one that is basically the same as one of the more expensive ones for only $8.99.
Thank you for this review. It really surprises me how many choices there are, but yet none of them really hit the mark. I love my happy planner, which I initially got to keep track of my budget more than anything. I have decided to make my own inserts so I have what I want and what works for me.
Exactly. Amazon is wild with copycats and ripoffs of popular items. There are knockoffs of almost everything. I bought planner rings I thought were Happy Planner. They didn’t behave the same and I compared them to some from an old planner and found they were thicker and the cutout was slightly off which caused my pages to stick. Now, even if something is name brand, I side eye it when ordering it from Amazon.
@@eileenstuffs It’s not the most efficient budgeting tool IMO, but it’s fun. I use the calendar for a monthly overview, and I log category spending totals for my weekly check-ins plus I do a bit of decorating. I do my budgeting and expense tracking on an excel spreadsheet. In the past I have re-sized TBM printables to use in my HP Classic and that worked for a while.
I’m so grateful I just came across your video. This was so helpful. I had a million things in my Amazon shopping cart until I could afford to buy them but this video really helped me see which ones to actually buy. Thank you again for putting this video together. ❤
Yea, I feel like if the budget books meets your needs, cost really doesn’t matter. I’ll have to check out the ones at Walmart! Might be fun to do a low-cost version of books around common stores.
Wow omg they’re all the same 😂 unbelievable! I feel like the most unique planners are the Erin Condren planners that cost more but they are super unique and you can even build your own planner. I have a monthly overview planner from Amazon and each page is a month calendar with a note section on the side of the page which works for me because I don’t like planners that are too busy. The carpe diem book is the best one in my opinion and it has tabs for the months and colorful
Yes, the carpe diem one is awesome! I like everything about it. I haven’t looked too much into Erin Condren. It would be fun to explore the different option offered.
I would be so tempted to copy some of the smaller pages enlarged onto card stock, punch holes, get hole punched folders and put them in a zippered binder for the price of some of the more expensive ones
This is why Arc paper inserts for disc binders are better suited for budgeting. Customization is the key factor. I have 1 that I have been using since 2018. Just replace the inserts that fit yer need. I think I spend maybe 30$ every 6 months. I have also found that other brands are universal for disc binders. Though I do have clever foxes accounting booklet that I carry in my purse. I think you did a really good job with the reviews, and I enjoyed the fact that you got frustrated with similarities. I would too.
❤❤❤❤❤Fantastic 😮😮😮😮Video Eileen. Thankyou 😊😊😊I like the $7.49 Budget $ Book which I would keep on my coffee table to fill in at the end of every day. And the first book with all the specific categories I would fill in at the end of every month to know exactly where my money goes 😊😊😊😊
People can make books to sell on Amazon. I believe it’s called KPD. There are templates and covers you choose from and Amazon actually publishes the books for you. This is the way thousands of people are making passive income selling books on Amazon. This is why so many books will be identical.
I was surprised because it is so many of the seemingly bigger book companies, such as clever fox, that are similiar. I can see the smaller books copying these models.
Oh thank you thank you for this review I’ve been looking for budget book but none convinced me. so I started to make my own in excel budget pages and putting my own necessaries. It was an eye opener for me and for everyone who watched this video. Thank you again.

Great video, the first book would have been great for me when I started my budgeting journey and never heard of sinking funds and I wasn't investing outside of my retirement account (which the money was taken out of my check). It seem like a budgeting book for real beginners who just need to get into the habit of budgeting their money.
I realized that I need to keep things simple and clean when it comes to a budget book, planner, or debt tracker (templates) . Everything need to be in a 3 ring binder. Or I will become overwhelmed

I ❤ the first one too but I think it needs somewhere to write down what you have spent at the end of each day- or it can be used together with a very small notebook, diary or wall calendar even.
The one thing I noticed is all of them are monthly budget only. I need to budget by paycheck. None offer that on Amazon. I loved your review. Thank you
Yes this is true. Didn’t seem any paycheck ones on Amazon. I budget this way as well, I believe there are some budgeting RUclipsrs who have created their own paycheck budgeting books.

Thanks for the suggestion. I honestly don’t know much about letter size, so this didn’t occur to me. However, a few of these books were full size, which seems to be A4. As far as the type of budgeting book, this is why I made the video. It can be hard online to see what your getting, and to tell how it is set up so…I wanted to choose the most recommended Amazon ones and see what they were about.
I recently looked into selling wholesale items on Amazon. I believe that is what is happening here. People will buy cheap items wholesale from places like Alibaba and then mark the prices up on Amazon. Price does not always determine quality. These people are just trying to make money. They more than likely bought these books for $2-$3 dollars a piece from a factory in China.
I think you are right. I recently discovered Alibaba and noticed many of the budget books on there were incredibly similar to the ones on Amazon. I think, just like budget binders, people by them wholesale and customize them a bit.
Wow! Very eye-opening for sure. I’m also almost sure that it might be one company coming up with all these planners. I see too many of the same themes and they all look the same no matter the price point. Kind of disappointing. 😮 ☹️
It’s interesting that you fault the more expensive budget books for being “just like” the cheaper ones, when in fact the cheaper ones likely ripped off the designs of the more costly ones and then knocked them off for 1/3 the price.
That might have to do with the order I did them in. I am sure if i would have started with the expensive books, then went to the cheaper ones. I might have concluded they were ripping the more expensive ones off.
Hi Eileen, I would like to mail you a copy of my budget workbook that I have up in Amazon. Do you have a po box you want to share with me? I appreciate you taking a look and sharing your thoughts! Blessings
I just wanted to point out that the cheaper planners have just stolen the content of some of the more expensive planners. I believe Clever Fox is a good company, I don’t know about the others. I never buy a planner unless I’m well-versed in the actual company, and that the creators are compensated for their genius. :-)

Yes. I expected more variety for sure.
Hey Eileen! ❤
Hello! Hope you are well.
I think k I'm too late for a chance at one of these. That's sad.
Yes, this is over now. Sorry. There is sure to be another giveaway at some point.
Hi Eileen, I would like to mail you a copy of my budget workbook that I have up in Amazon. Do you have a po box you want to share with me? I appreciate you taking a look and sharing your thoughts! Blessings
Hello, thanks for reaching out to me! Can you email me at eileenstuffs@gmail.com so we can talk further?
I just wanted to point out that the cheaper planners have just stolen the content of some of the more expensive planners. I believe Clever Fox is a good company, I don’t know about the others.
I never buy a planner unless I’m well-versed in the actual company, and that the creators are compensated for their genius. :-)
That’s a great point. Thanks for sharing.
