  • 28th version of my detachable gondola. It's working with very little flaw (1 to 2 problems per hour when stabilized), but it's still too much. Most of them are due to the junction of the rope, which is slightly bigger and more rigid than the rope itself ; the LEGO side is almost flawless now. It still needs some adjustments to work properly, which I want to remove before calling a version "the last one" :)
This 28th version was shown in Reims, France (March 17 and 18), and will be presented at Fana'briques 2018 (last week-end of June, in Colmar, France).

Super cool. Do they detach at the top too or was that for v29? Really like how you also incorporated a spring loaded grip, I saw another one that just used friction. A little Scouting would help you with your junction, you can't even tell where it is on a full scale ski lift. The secret is in how you wrap the cords.

Thanks ! On this video on particular I didn't incorporate both detachable stations, as I didn't have enough room for it. But the top station could have been exactly the same as the bottom one.
About the cable junction, I know how it's made in reality but at this scale, on a 2mm rope, it's really hard to get it right... I chose to weld bth ends together, not the best but it works. With a bigger rope and a lot of training, I might have been able to splice it but it's really a difficult operation.

@@pg5200 It is a good idea to learn when someone is pulling your leg. It is a beautiful build and I can't get my model trains to run any better.
