In 2014 I was paying $600 for a bedroom (yes JUST the bedroom) with shared bathroom with SIX OTHER PEOPLE in a six bedroom house. I never knew those days but I'm sure they were nice XD

I think the worst defense for not paying for your rent has got to be “they offered to help me out”. Someone offering to help doesn’t mean that you get to not pull your weight nor pay them back.
I'm in Alabama and pay $780 for a 1 bedroom apartment. It's not the best apartment, and it's not in the best neighborhood.
She's a moocher. She works and earns money so she should be paying her own way. If she was previously springing $1300 a month for a hotel room she should be able to pay a third of that in the plaintiff's apartment. If she isn't earning enough money she needs to do more shifts, be better at waiting tables or move into a caravan park.

I actually went in front of JJ as a plaintiff in 2002. It was a complete blur, but I do remember her asking me two questions, yes or no and then spending the remaining time berating the defendant. It was a good experience. I believe she sat on a booster chair to get above the bench. She is very small and so is the court room.

Oh and you have the audacity to tell her the boyfriend needs to pay a third?? She didn't need to split the rent with you you know? She could have just said, I have a spare room, you can rent it for 400 dollars a month. The level of entitlement is outrageous.

I mean the boyfriend should pay the cable bill Atleast. No one but him and the plaintiff uses it and he clearly spends as much time at their house than his own if he can’t even remember his own address. The plaintiff decided to split the rent, she could’ve asked for more at the initial agreement but she didn’t. That doesn’t mean the defendant should feel so “indebted” enough that she just accepts financial milking and pays any random fee the plaintiff gives her. Paying for something she doesn’t use is like paying for parking when u don’t even have a car. That fee doesn’t apply to her.

i live in a 2 bedroom, 1 1/2 bath quadplex with a full basement. i paid 650 for 2 years up until the first of this month they raised the rent to 800$. Still worth every dollar, but realistically they should have made the place a little nicer and fixed some things up to upcharge the rent. Still grateful I'm not paying 1000+ plus like some people. It truly sucks!

JJ never said she "couldn't" help her. She's going by what she read from both parties and apparently there is a dispute as to whether or not the first month was paid so JJ is going by what's most likely and more common. Anyone can choose to "help" a complete stranger with no relation but is that the more likely scenario? Absolutely not. Most people, especially a server, don't have the means to just allow someone to move into their home that they're renting by the way (don't own) for free.

Romans 4:5 “But to him who does not work, but believes in him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness.” But so many false teachers say you must turn from all your sins to be saved, they are wolves in sheeps clothing, outwardly appearing all holy but inside filled with all types of sin, Matthew 23:27. They trample on the blood of Jesus as if it wasn’t necessary to wash away all our sins once and for all, outraging the spirit of Grace. The truth is none of us are holy, we would all burn in Hell if Jesus didn’t go through that for us. That’s why so many movies and shows use Jesus name as a curse word, for what other “god” do they do this for? They mock him because the evil spirits of the world know he’s the truth and don’t want you guys to take him seriously. Isaiah 1:18 “He was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed.” 🙏🕊
