The plaintiff should get back their $1500. They are allowed to change their minds within a couple of weeks. I don't agree with the judges decision.

eople who sell cars should never take deposits. It is first come first serve. Test drive it , take it to a mechanic and buy it. I never take a deposit.

DeePooosIT... Everyone say it together, De Pos It... A sum of money(generally non refundable) to hold an item or dwelling. If everyone could just change their minds a few days later, WHAT IS THE POINT OF A DEPOSIT? The Plaintiff didn't even test drive it, so why give an additional 1500? Is that a deposit or partial payment? The way the Plaintiff is looking at the Judge makes me think she has no idea how life really works.

I understand that the plaintiffs did something stupid but when the defendant says she wasn't asking for the 1500 that shows right there that it wasn't a deposit the 100 was, I also don't believe that they sold the Jeep for Less, them changing their mind is why they forfeited the deposit.

I think that’s stupid. They should’ve gave their money back they didn’t buy the truck …keep $1500? They didn’t lose out nothing. They’re gonna make extra money because somebody change their mind… Stupid.

Yes you do. You promised to buy something, and unless otherwise stated, it’s non refundable. Be careful. You sound like someone that doesn’t understand the law and will wind up on this show if you believe that

I agree which is why the judge compensated the damages and gave her the remainder. I would've kept the 100 deposit and given them their 1500 back assuming they let me know within the week. After reading some of the comments I can see why people end up in court. Greedy idiots!

The Plaintiff still doesn't get that they were in the wrong. The Defendant shouldn't have had to return anything. The Plaintiffs backed out on a deal. They decided after the fact that they couldn't afford the car. Too bad. They should have figured that out before dropping $1500 off towards the purchase. The costs, plus punitive for the threats should have cost the Plaintiff an additional $500.
