I always wanted to know why Tony retired from voice acting after Ed Edd n Eddy and now I completely understand why and respect him even more after hearing the reason.
The fact that the industry had the audacity to threaten to blacklist Tony just because he asked for a raise just shows how shitty they are. Tony is a very awesome and talented person who doesn’t need any more bullshit from the dickheads at the industry.

I’m also glad that Sampson clarified that the back-and-forth had nothing to do with Antonucci.
More often than not, when these kind of negotiations go public, fans would often pin the creator being at fault for it, when the creator almost always has nothing to do with pay disputes.

Dude was down to Earth. Hearing this breaks my heart. Tony was a big piece of the show and as much as I love Matt and Vincent, Tony left the lasting impression. Also, I strongly agree Tony deserved a raise and had every right to quit when he did not get one, especially with how arrogant mortals are nowadays and back then. I honestly thought he quit being an actor, because he was bored and uninspired, and wanted to explore new projects, interests, and whatnot. Just imagine Eddy himself asking the Cartoon Network CEO's during the late 2000's. The scamming kid character asking for an honest pay raise after years of service. The cold hearted CEO's respond with the threat of black listing. Eddy, Being a skilled and experienced scam artist, Knows a rotten deal when he see's one. So for the second time of his life, (After he confessed the error of his ways in the Big Picture Show.) he totally mans up by quitting his job with his integrity still on his short shoulders.

Where as in skateboarding thankfully, all the real skater know that we respect the ones who keep it gutter and do shit their way and make the sellouts look shitty, robotic, and it shows that they were trained like Shaun White and never really earned the shit they had by hitting the concrete. You know I actually suspicion that company particularly as well. I do have a comment in the comments section here where I talked about it before a year or 2 ago. And if it is truly that company I'm curious of what Terry Klassen( Voice director of Ed Edd n Eddy and even the voice of Eddy's older brother) has to stay for himself on the matter. Might be disappointed depending on what he did or didn't do to help.

I get fearing losing your job, your career, your livelihood- it's not an easy choice, but something's gotta be done, fuck sticking around with that kind of employer if you're only ever going to get shafted anyway.

Okay now I'm straight-up curious on who the production company was that threatened him. I have doubts that would be aka cartoon given that Danny runs the place and him and Tony are cool according to Tony, so that would either leave BLT Productions or ocean group who's cast of voice performers are essentially identical. If it's any of those two then I might be hesitant in supporting them and I might even ask Matt Hill and Sam Vincent some questions regarding what they may know on this matter if anything. My tip that it's either BLT or ocean is how he says it was people he knew his whole life. If I have to guess another companies name maybe Cartoon Network as well. If you have any leads on this please let me know if possible.
