you prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last months :)
For Mandy Patinkin newcomers, the best thing he has ever done is the musical Sunday in the Park with George in 1984/85. Mandy got famous in 1979 in the musical Evita. Some movies with Mandy you may enjoy are The Music of Chance, Maxie, House on Carroll Street, and Yentl.
I hear ya Jennifer but I figured even new Mandy fans have seen The Princess Bride. I just wanted to make them aware of some other great roles he has done from theater and film, particularly Sunday in the Park With George. That's the greatest role he'll ever have and it's Stephen Sondheim's best work.
Jennifer A. I didn't take it as being snarky at all. I was just explaining my Princess Bride omission. Your "Wuv, twoo wuv..." for Mandy is not "inconceivable" no matter how many times "you keep on using that word." Now go "have fun storming the castle," but remember, "never fight a land war in asia."
I don’t like this effort at all...his is annoying...but his performance in the English studio production of South Pacific is one of my favourite musical performances
I was fortunate to see Mandy in concert a couple of years ago. And honestly, I don't think I've been the same since. The sheer beauty of his performance, the magic in his voice... The genius in his phrasing... I wish more people knew about the wonder he is on stage....
I adore Mandy Patinkin, I've been a fan a long, long, LONG time. I forgot about his "theater" days. He's also a pretty awesome humanitarian, and of course a FABULOUS actor!!
Mandy Patinkin has one of the best voices I have ever heard!! I have seen him in concert, and he is pure magic, not to mention energy!! I have not seen many who can do it all, and Mandy can!!! He gives his all, thank you Mandy, you just make me smile:)))))
His voice just brings tears to my eyes as soon as I hear it! So beautiful and clear and lilting! And he has such control! Amazing talent and amazing man!!!
Loved this guy ever since I first saw him in Evita. Bought everything he ever put out and went to every concert that came near me. He'll always be my favorite entertainer.
I saw this on Letterman too. As I recall Mandy was not a guest but just "dropped by" since he was "working at the studio next door" or something like that, which was one of Dave's gimmicks at the time. I think he just did the song and left. It was the most incredible vocal performance I had ever seen, and maybe still is. Amazing that it's here on RUclips. 1000 thanks to respectanimals!
He has a very versatile voice, there exists some quite amazing videos. I think, Mandy Patinkin is one of the last great Entertainers in the old traditional way. Thank you for loading up.
I. had the privilege of seeing Mandy 3 times in concert, and meeting him was like nothing before or after,I told him how much his music helped my depression, then, a hug and thank you whispered in my ear,,, such a humble man and to be so talented,,a great example of a humanitarian and I'd follow him over the rainbow, anytime!
lol, he was great in The Princess Bride, but then I've been a fan of his from way back when he played Che in Evita. I never saw the play but to this day I still run around at home singing his & Patti LuPones parts "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from the play with full bravado. From there on I tried to stay up with his acting career. Also loved it whenever he got the chance to do one his numbers on the piano in Chicago Hope.
God, I didn't know he sang! He is a symbol of pure talent! Love his acting, especially in Criminal Minds, and now, I love his voice! My favourite version to this song for sure!
He’s absolutely beautiful with a beautiful voice. He’s aged in to a lovely man and all his talent is from his heart. You can tell. Amazes me! That’s when you take your dreams and live them with all your heart.
I’m speechless too. Juliard helped him find his voice. Amazing. This is the very first time I’ve heard him sing. I wonder if he always sings in that octave? Very good ‼️🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Have been a Mandy P fan for decades! Check out the cd "experiment", esp. "Taxi" and "somewhere it's green". Saw the over the rainbow performance live---what a treat!!!
Oh my Gosh. What a WONDERFUL version of this song. I've never heard it done by him and I love it. I love Mandy and I miss Rube, too! what a gorgeous version of this song!
I saw this once. I'm thrilled to see it again. Easily (as in far and away) the best rendition of this wonderful song I've EVER seen. A phenomenal talent we never see from this man!
My simple little head can't grasp that this is Saul. but I love it. And I love me a little more for having have heard it. If there's a point it's lost, but I love homelands and I love this music.
Saw this episode live, was stunned by his singing, only new him as an actor. He was called in as an emergency replacement for Cher when she called off. He was in town doing a Broadway show, and on no notice came in, dressed in jeans anda t-shirt! Saved Dave's ass with immortal performance. Many thanks for posting, have always remembered this segment.
Can't stop visiting and listening/watching this. Mandy I LOVE YOU! And thank you so much, "respectanimals" (I do! and yes we should) for bringing this to all of us who need an antidote to the goon mentality that has control of the U.S. Mandy is the perfect antidote!
Mandy Patinkin! Gran actor y magnífico cantante! En Mentes Criminales estaba formidable, pero cuando canta, te hace poner la piel de gallina! Gracias!!!!!
I didn't think Mandy Patinkin could get any better. First Inigo Montoya, then Jason Gideon, and now a beautiful singer!!!! He is truly one of my favorite actor/performer of all time
The reasons that Over the Rainbow is my favourite song are: 1) It sounds amazing no matter who sings it (if it's sung properly, of course!), and 2) It's deceptively difficult while sounding simple and childlike. Such a perfect song.
@PhantomLexx I was fortunate enough to see him live at the Kennedy Center several years ago. I'll never forget it as long as I live. He sounds exactly the same in person as he does on CD or in a video. He has the most extraordinary voice I've ever heard. I hope you do get to see him in concert!
i just knew him as an actor ...superb acting as Avigdor in Yentl and i loved'im as Iñigo Montoya in the princess bride... i did't know he has such a lovely voice... 5 stars for this talented artist
Dear Mr. Patinkin, you are a force to be reckoned with! A Broadway icon who satirized yourself so perfectly (and hilariously) in "Run, Ronnie, Run!", and who crafted such a somber, believable portrayal of an FBI profiler in "Criminal MInds", proves you really can do it all. Maybe, one of these old days, I'll make it to the Great White Way and get lucky enough to watch you live. Thanks for everything.
Watched this with my dad on the night it aired. Only time I've ever seen him cry.
Wow... He doesn't just sing it .......He inhabits the music.
Amazing!
Becomes one with his art
you prolly dont give a shit but if you are bored like me during the covid times then you can watch pretty much all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. Have been streaming with my brother for the last months :)
@Reginald Rocco Yup, I have been watching on instaflixxer for since december myself =)
LIAR…..!!!!!!
@@DrDolan - You're not well. Seek help. (and I don't just mean 'soon'. I mean, like.. within the next few hours.)

+sergioalpert66 Thank for your comment. So many people posting their surprise that a character they know can sing. Mandy is a broadway legend.
I don’t like this effort at all...his is annoying...but his performance in the English studio production of South Pacific is one of my favourite musical performances
South Pacific!

I love Mandy Patinkin! He had a very unique voice and is one of Broadway's finest.
His voice has that old-fashioned softness to it. Almost like a golden-era Disney movie.
Saul, you're blowing the operation!
Footage from the 1970s of the next CIA chief, Saul Berenson, as an operative using his cover as a singer
Thank you Mr. Patinkin for sharing your many talents. You're the BEST!!!
I adore Mandy Patinkin, I've been a fan a long, long, LONG time. I forgot about his "theater" days. He's also a pretty awesome humanitarian, and of course a FABULOUS actor!!
Great actor, singer, person, etc.
Mandy Patinkin has one of the best voices I have ever heard!! I have seen him in concert, and he is pure magic, not to mention energy!! I have not seen many who can do it all, and Mandy can!!! He gives his all, thank you Mandy, you just make me smile:)))))
Standing ovation!!!! What a melodic voice!
I just keep on returning to this video clip every once in a while, it brings peace and now I can sing it as it plays to my newborn son as a lullaby.
OMG! his voice brought tears to my eyes. Damn i never knew my dear sweet agent Gideon could sing like this. It makes me love him even more.
Right
I saw this on Letterman too. As I recall Mandy was not a guest but just "dropped by" since he was "working at the studio next door" or something like that, which was one of Dave's gimmicks at the time. I think he just did the song and left.

I saw this when it originally aired. Truly one of the best performances on Letterman and of this song.
wow I was just watching Criminal Minds, and after watching that and then watching this wow I am speechless wow
Try Princess Bride, he is Inigo Montoya of 'You killed my Father, be prepared to die' fame.
lol, he was great in The Princess Bride, but then I've been a fan of his from way back when he played Che in Evita. I never saw the play but to this day I still run around at home singing his & Patti LuPones parts "Don't Cry For Me Argentina" from the play with full bravado. It’s incredible, isn’t it?
He's huge on broadway. His home is theater not really television
I love Mandy Patinkin's Voice
*Saul Berenson - lol
I recently rediscovered how much I love his album. I've been listening to it non-stop for days now and it never gets old. What a voice!
I'm so impressed! What a wonderful theatrical voice he has! wow!
He was a musical theatre star long before he was on TV. That voice!
When Mandy sings, each song he sings, he gives you a mini broadway production. So unique, so touching and a vibrant performance. Love, love this man.
I’m speechless too. Juliard helped him find his voice. Amazing. This is the very first time I’ve heard him sing. I wonder if he always sings in that octave? Very good ‼️🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈
Beautiful rendition of this song. This man is very talented. He sings with all his soul. Love him on Homeland as well.
Never gets old, Broadway tunes, my hat is off for you Mandy
The man is unique...all my voice coaches have always considered him #1...so do I! God what soul!
Oh, I have looked for this video forever! David was blown away by this. I love it.
jaw dropped when i heard this, just wow very talented guy
I've been looking for this song forever. I lost my cd with it. Oh, thank you so much, thank you for uploading it. God bless you.
Isnt he awesome!!! Fell in love with him watching Chicago Hope. Thanks for the great song!
I’m had NO IDEA he had such an amazing singing voice!! And feel both robbed and blessed!!
I have always adored this song by him

What a wonderful voice. Whao!
Have been a Mandy P fan for decades! Check out the cd "experiment", esp. "Taxi" and "somewhere it's green". Saw the over the rainbow performance live---what a treat!!!

His voice is incredible, and the piano background is spectacular too!
God sure has given him a wonderful gift he is amazing❤❤❤
SO talented.
I saw Mandy potankim on Broadway and I thought he was singing only to me; I believe that is how he made most people feel.
His voice, pure and angelic, wonderful.
My simple little head can't grasp that this is Saul. but I love it. And I love me a little more for having have heard it. If there's a point it's lost, but I love homelands and I love this music.
Whao. What beautiful voice. And yes - I agree - wonderful
patinkins got one hell of a voice
I haven't seen that. I'm sure it's amazing and awesome. It's Mandy Patinkin. How could it not be wonderful?
The mix of dramatic acting and singing typical of musicals Mandy masters beautifully. Not to mention his Sterling tenor and delicious vibrato.
Seriously, if you haven't been to one of his concerts, you have never lived!!
impecable voice,outstanding actor. Bravo Mandy!!
Oh gosh I love Mandy...he makes me cry and makes himself cry he feels it so much!
I love this. What a magical voice this divine man has :-)
Wow he is amazing.
I remember watching on Letterman.... and was astounded by his talent. decades ago....
Mandy always makes me cry when I hear him sing. His voice is so wonderful and so full of emotional.
Thanks for the laughter after this sublime generous performance. :-)
Wish he was still singing!! I have all his cd's/ tapes- Love all his work!!

TikTok is about to make this video go viral
Just an amazing beautiful performance. Even years later it's still amazing.
DROP THE HANDS, GIDEON! DROP THEM!
Ditto! It’s so distracting and strange!
Can't stop visiting and listening/watching this. Mandy I LOVE YOU!
And thank you so much, "respectanimals" (I do! and yes we should) for bringing this to all of us who need an antidote to the goon mentality that has control of the U.S.

so beautiful! ❤️😭
wow! how yoiung was he! excellent video =]
Mandy Patinkin! Gran actor y magnífico cantante! En Mentes Criminales estaba formidable, pero cuando canta, te hace poner la piel de gallina! Gracias!!!!!
it's his concentration on the meaning of the song that makes everything possible.
Wow. I remember watching this so long ago.
I didn't think Mandy Patinkin could get any better. First Inigo Montoya, then Jason Gideon, and now a beautiful singer!!!! He is truly one of my favorite actor/performer of all time
I love Mandy's singing. He's so creative and expressive, and he really gets into the character of the song.
The reasons that Over the Rainbow is my favourite song are: 1) It sounds amazing no matter who sings it (if it's sung properly, of course!), and 2) It's deceptively difficult while sounding simple and childlike. Such a perfect song.
I'd initially only known him from The Princess Bride. What an amazing, clear voice he has. Just lovely!
@PhantomLexx
I was fortunate enough to see him live at the Kennedy Center several years ago. I'll never forget it as long as I live. He sounds exactly the same in person as he does on CD or in a video. He has the most extraordinary voice I've ever heard. I hope you do get to see him in concert!
what a great voice thank you mandy
Mandy can do anything he wants anyway he wants! and so can Paul Ford. I LOVE YOU BOTH!!!
I love you Mandy, I know your infamy wasn't in Music in Australia..... but you've always been my favourite Tenor. XXXX
I watched it "live" on Letterman and have wished for YEARS to see this performance again. AT LAST.
best version I have ever heard.
i am now in love with mandy patinkin. this is inconvenient
What great talent! I am a great fan!
Its from the Letterman show I'm thinking around '86 or '87. I remember watching 'live' with my buddies. We were stunned. Beautiful stuff.
Just amazing.
Wow he is very good! His voice is beautiful!!!
Have loved Mandy since I first fell head over heels with him in Yentl!
GORGEOUS!
Heard him do this live at the Shubert in Chicago, back in the old days. (The Dress Casual tour) WHAT a voice!
Incredibly talented and incredibly gorgeous! El hombre de mis sueños...*sigh*
i just knew him as an actor ...superb acting as Avigdor in Yentl and i loved'im as Iñigo Montoya in the princess bride...
i did't know he has such a lovely voice...
5 stars for this talented artist
Beautiful! What more is there to say.

Well, he never stopped being (and is) a singer. I saw him in "Evita" playing "Che" and he was just great. What a cool guy
