  • Perfect for catching carp when the mulberries ripen up and begin to fall. They just love to feast on this one. This fly was shown to Brian many years ago by an old timer here in Ohio. It is basically a sucker spawn fly tied with Black or Purple Chenille.
If you don't tie, remember that these are also for sale on our website and ready to fish!

I caught a few 6lbs catfish on this fly! The "plop" is perfect. They come looking for it immediately.

Wow. This is great. Another thing that I have seen drop out of trees with fish waiting on, is fishing worms beneath catalpa trees when they get caterpillars on them.
Now I’m gonna have to tie mulberry’s and catalpa worms. I have never thought to try to fly fish a catalpa looking fly.

I've known guys that smash a ripe mulberry into a similar fly instead of anise or vanilla.

Thanks for checking with us! If you could call the shop at 614-451-0363 or e-mail them at admin@madriveroutfitters.com they can help you there.
The guys that work in the shop don't typically monitor here and they will be MUCH more qualified to answer your question.
Thanks and give them a holler.
