    To save money and get yourself upgraded to the electronic version of the Etha 3 which I highly recommend swap in a steel tank they are like $40 and get a grillz mask $70 and a spire IR2$100 or on sale $80 from ANS. You can always upgrade the tank down the line for alot cheaper than upgrading your gun and air is free so just fill up a few extra time until you get a 4500 tank .

    Etha 3 electronic is the undefeated champion of the " mid range " paintball gun if your buying brand new . Big piece of advice if saving up the extra couple hundred is a actual option DO IT , waiting a couple extra weeks to get a gun like the Etha 3 over something cheaper is 100% worth it , you don't buy a gun all the time so save up and get a good one .

    I love the axe but I'd definitely go for the Etha. Newer design, better ergos, better efficiency, easier to work on. The gamma core is hard to beat at $400. Plus the Planet Eclipse customer support is unrivaled and they have arguably the best markers out there. Axe for sure has better colorways than the Etha and having an OLED is nice but in my opinion the Etha still takes the cake. Or spend $400 on a used 170, LV1, or CS1

    These are both some solid entry setups. For me the better setup would really depend on the style of paintball you want to play. Etha 3M setup is great for rec/woodsball and would be a simple and reliable gun for a newer player to work on. But you are gonna get out gunned real quick if you are trying to play speedball. Sure you could with the valve upgrade they mentioned in the video, but that might not be allowed depending on your field/tournament's rules. If you are wanting to play speedball then I'd lean to the Axe setup.
    Alternatively, if you you have an extra $150 (kinda defeats the point of the point of the challenge, but alas) get an Etha3 and then save up for a mechanical frame later if you want that option. Or better yet, if you have a knowledgeable paintballer friend have them help you find and test a good condition used marker, and get a better marker for similar money or save a few bucks to spend on paint or other nice to haves.

    I would have gone with the Halo so you had enough to keep up with the valve change in the Etha and still keep the hopper cost down.

    I like these videos cause I like to go onto ANSgear and build out my own setups under the same dollar amount. I added a rule to myself to color coordinate everything and try and avoid sales when I can (Though you will likely have to shop sales at this budget so some things are on sale. Where Items were on sale I made sure the pricing was enough to go to still afford a lesser version of that item off sale
    Here's what I made for $700 Dollars
    Marker: Dye CZR+ Blue/Black $349.99
    Tank: Empire Aluminum 48/3000 $49.99
    Hopper: Dye LTR Loader w/ Quick Feed Bundle Black/Blue $139.90
    Mask: JT ProFlex X LE Blue w/ Smoke Lens $59.99 < On Sale
    Pod Pack: Empire Omega 4 Pod Harness Black/Blue $24.95
    Pods: Dye Alpha Pods in Cyan x4 $3.49 ea 13.96 total
    My extras:
    Backpack: Dye Fuser .25 Black $49.95
    Beanie: KM Paintball Beanie, Royal Blue $10.00 (cause picking paintball shells out of your hair sucks)
    Total price in my ANSgear Cart comes to $698.65 pre-tax pre-shipping

    I took the advice about a year ago and bought the etha 3m. While I like it and it’s a tank, I’m constantly looking at electronic guns wondering if I couldn’t have gotten a better marker on that side. But I’m going to try that new valve and re evaluate here next Saturday!

    I'm buying gear for the first time. This is the ~$700 setup I just ordered before watching this video. Based on these pro recs it sounds like I didn't do so bad, but maybe should have budgeted more for an air tank and less for the mask:
    Planet Eclipse Etha 3M Paintball Marker with Speedster Hopper Combo $439.95
    First Strike Sidekick 48ci 3000psi Air Tank Born 04/22 (with regulator) $34.95
    Valken Paintball Fate GFX 4+3 Harness $17.19
    Planet Eclipse Paintball Barrel Maid Swab Cleaner $12.99
    Dye Alpha 150 Round Paintball Pod $3.49 x 4
    Dye i5 Paintball Mask $199.95
    Total: $718.99 before tax.

      Oy thing I see wrong here, is your tank. You lost 2 years off the rip on that tank. Otherwise you seem golden

    • @DashiellRenaud
      @DashiellRenaud 6 месяцев назад

      @@redneck259 Yeah, except I don't see myself holding onto that steely for even three years. The weight benefits of hyper light tanks and the fps consistency benefits of a top-end regulator make me want to donate the steel tank to the local paintball field asap and to upgrade those, even though that will cost close to as much as the marker itself.

    Hey random question what’s the difference between a gun like the axe 2.0/etha 3 vs a 170r since there is a significant price increase

    • @BAGofTALENT
      @BAGofTALENT Год назад

      Between the Etha and 170 Would be the aluminum body with more color options and customization options like grips and The screen to navigate firing modes and options easier and overall more solid feel of a gun rather than having that plastic feeling of the Etha, when it comes to shooting paint they are basically the same , they have same modes but you can adjust bps on 170 and when it kicks in on nxl and PSP mode . If your throwing it on on semi or nxl like 99% of people do the Etha is gonna perform the same . It's really a testament to how good planet eclipse really is when their 500 gun rips like their high end gun do , the higher end one will feel a bit smoother when using trigger but the differences are small , they have the same bolt so performance and reliability is basically the same . Etha is the King of that price range without question.

    no offense man but for $700 a mechanical gun is a rip off, most mini gs's are always on sale for $299 so like for $100 more you get less than half the firepower for what, for a little less work and a few months longer life for your gun :/

    • @codyhoward6509
      @codyhoward6509 7 месяцев назад +6

      Horrible argument. Look at what you’re getting with the Etha3m compared to a mini gs.
      -superior ergonomic (for most people)
      -best bolt in paintball
      -planet eclipse build quality and reliability
      -upgrades are endless for the 3m
      You can’t look at the price and tell me the mini is a better buy just because it’s electronic. Buy once cry once. Save up your money and go get an etha 3 if you want electric.
