He sings with the soul of a soldier who actually fought in the war. He feels and expresses everything. So much love to the Russian people and all that they have endured. And this precious man will always have a special place in my heart.
Dmitri was a wonder indeed. Superb! He lives in my life every single day, for not a day passes that I don't listen to his voice and feel life through his music and passion.
Mr. Hvorostosky interprets so well those songs, they are so representative of the Russian soul, so beautiful and so sad at the same time. He enchantered the world with is beautiful voice and offered the Russian songs to us. Of course his great operatic roles are with us for ever.
A true master! Dimitri truly had one of the most beautiful voices in the world. Such heartfelt emotions & melody flowed from his very soul that it is hard not to listen to him without crying. The Loss of this great classic is a tragedy. Dorogoy, dorogoy Dimitri you died way too soon. Thank God we have his golden voice recorded for all of us to listen to for many, many years to come. I pray your soul is resting in peace & in the arms of God.
"But as consolation to the world,I live with thousands of souls in the hearts of all those who love, and therefore I'm not dust and mortal decay will not touch me" - Dmitri sang beautifully in Suite on Michelangelo's Poems. He lives still among us...💞
An Amazing performance of this emotional Russian Songs from the World War II Years by the Immortal Dmitri Hvorovsky in perfect harmony with the orchestra under the precise baguette of maestro Constantine Orbelian.
Such a beautiful voice. What a loss to his country and the world, but most of all to his family, friends and the musical community. However, his wonderful legacy will live on forever.
Sublime maestro. Me hubiera encantado escucharlo en vivo. Pocos Son los artistas q transmiten así su arte y pasión. Un verdadero grande.saludos desde Argentina
So much beauty, only music will bring love and peace, Dmitri knew this. Look at the faces of people in the audience !!!!! They feel good, relaxed and peaceful. A lot smile under the spell.
Me and mu girlfriend were talking about how sad it is that Dmitri passed away so early. I said that he would become an epic elder singer... like Sir Christopher Lee. She told me that they must be singing together at the auditorium of paradise... and what can I say! I really love that image. Thank you Dmitri for all the music!!
I could listen to these war songs all day, even though they make me cry when I think about everything the Russian people have had to endure. So much strength and courage to them.
Only a great country can have a son like Dima has been - singing love and joy with his heart. I love Russia and wish her peace and prosperity. Always grateful for her sacrifices in WW2. Thank you for your soulful music, both classical and national. Thank you for the immortal Dima Hvorostovsky...
Saw him live, México, 2008. One of my dreams came true that night. It's one of the things I deeply treasure in my heart. You are now in peace dear Dima. We miss you
Can not understand why I never discovered this Big Voice until now . Maybe it is because I first don´t like opera , But this Voice is just unreal & amazing ! R.I.P Dmitri ....
I also was late in discovering Dmitri. I think he cared more about the international awareness of cultural arts and the creative exploration of Russian folk and war songs. He made lost musical historical treasures accessible to millions of people. I think he cared more about this than being a commercial success as we define it in North America. He didn’t have the need to make a Christmas CD! (Of course, if he had, I’ m sure it would have been gorgeous.) Dmitri’s deeply felt, exquisitely sung songs of loss and love, viewed and listened to on Met live stream and RUclips are getting me through this freakin’ pandemic. Bless the people who continue to download his concerts! Thank you to the people who translate titles into English! I think Dmitri would probably be happy that his music soothes our souls during these turbulent times. Stay well people!
@@cmuguette4600 he performed in many opera houses, including in England, Germany, and the metropolitan opera in the United States. He was a well-known opera singer. But of course, he loves the songs of his own country and sang them often in recitals..

Russian courage, beauty and strength, you can feel the deep soul...the patriotism. RIP dear Dima, just get the feeling when he sung Cranes, he knew that his life on this earth was going soon. A short life just like so many brave soldiers of Russia who paid the greatest sacrifice.
unique, irremplaçable, il nous manque tellement. Une si belle carrière qui s'arrête si soudainement! sa voix devenait de plus en plus belle. Il chante avec les anges. On t'aime Dmitri
Geweldig.
