      From a body building perspective they are actually a bit on the small side in relation to his upper body. He would look slightly disproportionate on stage. But if he had been suffering knee pain then that would make sense that his upper body would be progressing more than his lower half. Yes bodybuilding is objective and harsh. You pick people apart and find flaws in people who are the absolute pinacle of human form.
      However, for the average dude... ya bro is jacked.

      Check out the work by Pável Tsatsouline. His video workouts should still be on RUclips and his Joe Rogan podcast episode was impressive.
      A crash course on physical and exercise science and one of the most notorious episodes where Joe actually really kept his mouth shut to listen most of the time and didn’t veer off to DMT or weed (or at least not really).

      @shroomjak200 I go up in 8 kilo increments. Kettlebells usually go up in 4kg increments but I don’t want to purchase too many kettlebells so I buy 8kilo higher than the weight I can handle. Have 16kg, 24kg and 32 kg. Currently doing all my exercises with 24kg and when I get stronger because of it I move up to 32. Then it’s time to buy a 40kg. My goal is to stop around 50kg and then keep my kettlebell program and add sandbags ( big ones). Kettlebells currently serve as my complete gym. Full body workout everyday : I train for balance, stability, power, explosive power and muscle building.

    • @Jypae
      @Jypae 2 месяца назад +3

      I have an adjustable kettlebell. I think it goes from around 6 to 8 kg all the way up to 18 kg.
      If needed at some point, I'd get something like 28-32 kg kettlebell. I do train mostly at a gym though, so this adjustable is just for lazy days or when I just need some accessories home.

    Good for the knee... Kind of eliminates the primary benfit of single leg activities which is GLUTE MED activation and lateral stability.

    • @junkiedropouts3186
      @junkiedropouts3186 2 месяца назад +5

      I do this but with a trap bar and I would say it primarily hits glutes. That could be some instability from using the bar, but very similar feeling to lunges just with less hamstring involvement.
      So I suspect the actual knee benefits are actually by way of glute activation and strengthening, rather than typical squats that drive all the force through the knees.

      @@junkiedropouts3186 Yea I guess it depends on the cause of the knee weakness. Monopodal squats seem to be the king for glute med activation but if it's weakness in the hamstrings, glutes, or quads, there would be varying degrees of effectiveness of different exercises. Truth is, we're probably best off to do em all, cover your bases, pretty standard PT approach.

    • @cajampa
      @cajampa 17 дней назад

      @@kaufmanat1Interesting, monopodal squats. So that is what it is called. I have been doing that on a balance board for years. And my glutes have been growing like crazy. I did not try to target glutes, I just did it because I love how hard it is to do under balance. And it is hard to find anything challenging to do on a balance board after a while. It seems to make me faster when sprinting somehow also.
