This pattern works on, at least, the original Pac-Man arcade machine, the MAME emulator, and I'm told, the XBox 360 version.
2nd Galaxian pattern additional instructions. In case it's not clear what is happening at these key times.
0:54- press DOWN as soon as you see the 800
0:57- press UP as soon as you see the 1600
