Just guessing here, but possibly because polyester is cheaper and because a more "slippery" fabric makes a better lining. All of my slips are nylon or polyester because silk is not in my budget.

I don’t know if Uniqlo had them in North America but this year I bought a terracotta coloured combination camisole dress. It has a built in bra so no issues about wearing a bra underneath and it has pockets. I ummed and ahhhed about it and finally bought it in the sale. Love it.
Oddly enough some of the Uniqlo polyester works for summer bc it’s super lightweight. I’ve put some of it to the test during a recent heatwave. Of course you have to do what’s right for you. I just wanted to express my experience with wearing some of these items in the hot summer months.

I’m in 110 degree weather for the first time and can only wear linen or silk top, but I wonder if polyester is ok if in loose dress form, can’t be tight as that would be less breathable
In my day to day life I wear a lot of black and neutrals so I opted for what suits my style. I did include the additional colours of each item in the video though. Hope that helped.

cutting corners to save money for sure. There are better alternatives if we are talking about slippery lining like viscose.

Mi abuela used to wear those huipil style nightshirts 😂 Love them! Very airy and cool for summer nights; and the embroidery was such a pretty design.

Fair enough! That’s why I always like to include fabric content. It’s important to me and I’m sure it’s important to you all as well!
I don't know. I wouldn't wear an acrylic and wool blend dress in the summer, or a polyester lining.
If the summer high was 75 degrees maybe but not here in TX! Neva!
