The Hex vs. Round Core Guitar String Debate Continues

In this video, I propose the actual physics of a vibrating round core string is truer than a hex core string. Years ago, I took a course at music school, Acoustics 101. It was one of my favorite classes. It taught me a lot about string vibration. So, recently I proposed the physics question to several RUclipsrs as well as string sellers and one manufacturer, Pyramid. Max at Pyramid is the only one that responded. They have been using round core wires since 1850. They only recently, since 1990, have made some strings with a hex (six sided) core. But, no one has actually done a controlled scientific experiment as far as I can tell.
I also propose that Jimi Hendrix used round core strings because hex core strings were not available back then. Round core strings definitely get closer to his sound to my ears. The only issue is they don't last as long for me.
