THE COLOR OF THE FLAG WAS NOT RED AS THE BATTLES CONTINUED, EVERY TIME A SOLDIER RAISED THE FLAG AFTER VICTORY, THE FLAG APPEARED RED WITH BLOOD AND THE EDGE APPEARED DARK BLUE (because of iron content in human blood, appears blue when dried in sun light).
