- South African allrounder Jacques Kallis scored a wonderful 111 as he combined with Ashwell Prince in a record-breaking fourth-wicket partnership of 219 in Sydney in 2006
Kallis had it all. Was a master batsmen, great bowler, extraordinary fielder and above all a true gentleman cricketer.Massive respect.
Correct.. 👍
But he couldn't hit long ball
@@દુષ્યંતચારણ he wasn't a sloger so he doesn't have to be
@@rajab4187 it means he was not perfect right?
He did have the long shots did u not see
Kallis and the Proteas came to my cricket club one day to prepare for a test against the Aussies in Cape Town. The bowling coach at the time, Corrie van Zyl decided to put him through his paces in the nets, the very same nets where me and my fellow cricket mates practiced every time. Me and a few other fans were standing behind the nets as he was batting and were blown away by his technique and shot selection. Van Zyl was standing close range from him, throwing balls at a million miles an hour at him. He knew what to do everytime and played every rocket fired at him with effortless grace. There was a respectful silence from everyone watching as no-one wanted to disturb him or break his concentration.
Willem Kotze well said mate
Wow mate
That's pretty cool
I wish I was there
Wow!!!!
Kallis was right up there with the best of hus contemporaries.
Oh yeah.....and thats how Sangakkara ruined him....unsettling him with innocent words
nice touch, Gilly shaking his hand when got his ton.
Always the best Aussie....
Gilchrist man, can't get anymore nicer than him.
Real recognises Real.. Two of the greatest of our times 👏👏👏what concentration & determination from Kallis he always played for the team what an all rounder & extremely under rated
Gilly = class act
I think Gilly is not a true Australian
Stats are too good to be true
Like seriously both in Tests and ODIs this man was a beast
Most valuable player of all time
Yep. Best cricketer ever
25000 runs 577 wickets 338 catches and and true gentlemen absolute legend my hero love watching him play!

The great Rahul Dravid once introduced Kallis at an award ceremony as "the greatest all rounder of his generation".
Real recognize real brother. Thx for the respect on Dravidian sir.
Thank you for that respect and love beyond nationality and true spirit of humanity and sport! The Pakistan greats who had put me In awe are Yonus Khan, Mohammed Yousuf, Inzammam among many others!
Of all time
The greatest player of his generation.
kallis is simply amazing. few have done or will ever do what he's done with bat and ball consistently
Yes
Kallis is the best all rounder in cricket history, I mean Benaud, Sobers, W.G. Grace and Botham all did a lot for the game, but Kallis has a massive Batting average and also has 250+ wickets to add to that. He truly is a player who could be picked on either his batting or bowling alone. He is just amazing. He was just so consistent also.
@@SilentHotdog28 there is no Imran in your list. Seriously?
@@flyingfalcon5065 Imran was another great, never said he wasn't I was just naming some all rounders that came to mind.
@@SilentHotdog28 but if u ask me or a common cricket enthusiast, probably Imran's name will spontaneously come up in mind in 1st or 2nd place while referring to alrounders... Anyways.. Good luck.

Kallis, with his contribution with both bat and ball, eclipses Lara, Tendulkar, Ponting and Dravid as the greatest test player of his era.
Here comes a Moron.
No doubt
nope.
Way better than them.
Agreed he had better batting average than all of em
greatest all rounder of all time
Sobers, ahead of Kallis and Imran
@@mizofan no onr knows imran.. only kallis and sobers
Sobers, by far, the best...batsman, medium fast bowler, orthodox spin bowler and chinaman bowler...NOBODY will EVER do all those facets again in test cricket.
mizofan Imran 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Gary sobers
Seriously, I don't care where I was on the field, if I saw the legend in action, I would have run up to him and gave him a a handshake and pat on the back. Kallis is my favourite player that I saw growing up and I grew up with warne, Mcgrath, Lee, Gillespie, Mr Cricket, clarke, Ponting, Tendulkar, gavaskar, Laxman, Flintoff, sehwag, Chanderpaul, Sanga, Jaywardena, Gilchrist, I pretty much grew up with the best of all time (exluding Bradman and Sobers) But Kallis was my favourite of all. Coming from an Aussie btw, so I'm not biased in saying that, Kallis is probably the 2nd greatest cricketer of all time.
I don't know why but this touches my heart.
Respect, well said bro
Nah he's the greatest of all
@@ravipandey6620 without a doubt its Bradman
@@alarmed2542 you are A biased fan then if you pick a batsman over a player who has excelled all the departments for the best cricketer. We are talking about the best cricketer and not the best batsman.
Kallis is the greatest overall cricketer of all time.
Surpassing the God of cricket even with his all round record.
He is the greatest allrounder due to his attacking nature....
Attack is the best defense..
Jacque Kallis the Legend...
His record in test cricket is just unbreakable, 13k + runs 290 + wickets and lots of catches, I don't think anyone can break this record.
I'm a south African, so I am biased, but Kallis is the reason I love cricket, he is my favourite cricketer of all time. Yes there were better bowlers, and yes there were better batsmen. But he took 200+ catches for crying out loud. If I think back there was barely a time when he wasn't at the crease. He was always batting lol. But I am biased though so please forgive
Sobers was the greatest cricketer of all time. Master batsman fast bowler left arm spin orthodox and wrist spinner. Best fielder I ever saw and a great captain.zMost exciting batsman I ever saw and I have seen the all.
of all time.
@@briannorbury8840 how old are you Brian
I'm also a South African, and I agree completely... A colossus of the Proteas for so long.
It was around the time that he retired (and Graeme Smith a few weeks later) that South African cricket started its slide into mediocrity.
Look at them now. Ranked above only Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Ireland, and Afghanistan.
A sad sad time for SA cricket. 😭😭
@@handyvickers You guys defeated us in the tests. Things might start getting good for you soon
@@ishaan6426 yup, we did beat India, much to my surprise. With no big name players, either. I hope you're right, Ishaan, that this is the start of something new..( I see we're up to 5th in the ICC rankings.)

Where you have seen as underated.he is legend!
The most perfect cricketing package
Omg those pull shots were soo beautiful.
Best all round cricketer I've seen in last 40 years
The most aesthetically pleasing batsman of all times, and gilly a true gentleman of the game ,multiple videos ive seen him shake bats mens hands on their accomplishments
Best Cricketer that I’ve seen & that we’ll see for a long time.
4:54 I respect Gilly for that reason
Sona Indian indeed
Sir kaliis is the most compete player to ever play the game
no, Sobers
No. This is why that statement is incorrect. Sobers was. Sobers is the greatest cricketer of all time; Donald Bradman is the greatest batsman of all time. That's the way it's been since the 1970s and the way it will be until Gary's exploits pass out of living eyewitness memory.
G-Man was much more exciting than JK. Debuted against England at 17. He smashed bowling attacks in a way Kallis never did, pouncing and leaping onto that ball no matter where it pitched with a feline grace and power nobody could ever forget.
So when you mean complete, did Kallis ever bowl much spin (off spin AND leggies/Chinamen; Sobers did, of course)? Did he ever hold the highest individual Test innings record or score a triple ton and hold the record for runs in a Test career? (Kallis could never build truly big scores; Sobers' 365 when he was 22 was his first Test century, I think) Did he ever hit six sixes in an over? Sobers was the first.
It goes on. However, Kallis was perhaps the most consistent and dependable cricketer of all time, a brilliant run accumulator, only second behind Sachin during the last 30 years, which is of course genius in its own way. Longevity is a good thing.
Then again, second wind here, Sobers has a Test batting average of 57.7 without wearing a helmet against Dennis Lillee or having the luxury of playing against teams like against Zimbabwe, like Kallis did, which is why Jacky boy got his average up to a still very impressive 55.4. Most complete? What about captaining your national side. Gary captained the Windies 1965-73 when he retired; his batting never suffered, such was his eye and powers of concentration. Kallis did a couple of Tests - that's it. He was too busy scoring centuries (and saving his team from batting collapses)
Sobers wins EVERY time. (Please excuse any factual errors, incoherency or weird phrasing. This YT comment was so off the cuff, it's tearing my sleeve off.)
Thank you, person who made this comment more than two years ago, in a completely different decade!
The greatest cricketer to ever play the game
Kallis! What a player........one of the very best batsmen, bats at crucial no 4 and 250+ test wickets? Boy that's incredible. If ever there is someone most indispensable to a cricket team, it is Kallis. He is half the South African sides of his time.
Technically the 360 of cricket mr. Kallis 'The Rock'
And don't forget the gentlemen of cricket Gilly
Say what you want but Kallis had the most Majestic cover drive to date... Its the epitome of the perfect technique of playing that shot... Everytime I see it, just sit in awe of it...
Some say great batsman , some say great bowler but some say Kallis one of the greatest cricketer...
And he scored 22 more test centuries after this.. A crazy crazy cricketer.. Above all.. Batsman bowler fielder... Best all rounder cricket has ever witnessed..
According to me most valuable cricketer of all time
One of the commentator said
If there is kallis in team that means that team is playing with 12 players (this statement is enough to know his value)
Greatest All Rounder Of All Time. He always contribute with both bat and ball when his team needed. Magical Cricketer he was.
I mean even now SA hasn't recovered from his retirement.
To my mind, the greatest cricketer of all time. Excelled in all forms of cricket. Definitely one of the best batters in tests, only behind Tendulkar and Ponting in runs. 250+ wickets. Could have walked into most teams just as a bowler. And then all those slip catches. A beautiful, classical batting style, but his greatest skill was adapting to conditions and circumstances. He could crash it around as well as grinding it out, and for many years he was holding up a struggling team on his own. Phenomenal focus and concentration. Various hotheads tried all sorts, but never ruffled him. King Kallis!
One of the best innings against one of the best bowling line up of all time.❤🇧🇩
absolute class. Look at his average of 56. Loved the gesture of Gilchrist . .
One of the greatest I ever seen like a Kallis what a player he's 😘😘😘👏👏
Not Ab..... Kallis is the best South African Player
@Bhuvan Andhole dont see just batting
Not Tendulkar virat is best player of India
@@zavi9513 OK kid go and play somewhere else
Kallis is better AB was a struggler in front of these bowlers .
@Bhuvan Andhole I think you started watching cricket recently that why you have no idea about those bowlers whome Sachin and Kallis had faced but I can say AB is best batsman of modern cricket.
My favourite player whom I used to imitate a lot while batting myself. His cover drives were pure class!!!
He was a guy that would make the team for just his bowling or just his batting. CRAZY
The man walks in everyone's greatest X1 of all time without a second doubt
Wonderful knock by Kallis. Good sportsmanship from Gilchrist.
J Kallis was the greatest batsman who played the spin with utmost ease and was very useful bowler with great hand at slips. He was genuine all rounder the game has ever witnessed both in Test & ODI's, his records says it all. Very unlucky not to lift the WC trophy.
He was my favorite since I saw him playing against the Aussies way back in 96'97, the 7 match ODI series.
0:23 Look at the blitzering swing and the way he drives it.
Greatest cricketer to have ever played
Batting
Bowling
Fielding
He is the most complete player to have played the game 👑💯
Love the way gilli congratulated kallis after his hundred
Guess he is best over all cricketer of all times. Awesome batsman - all shots in the book, flawless technique, best temperament. Equally efficient fielder. A very good tier two bowler.
Jaques Kallis .. The man with multi talented .. He can open the batting and he can open the bowling also... Very great alrounder of all time ... We wlnt get another Kallis bcz he is most talented and clever and class player ... My childhood hero and mostly every cricket fans loves him ... Love u King Kallis ...
I always wondered when I was a kid in those days that batsmen didn't really bowl fast and Kallis would come up batting higher up in the order to bat for hours and start bowling in the very next day, and the confusion in the name tho his name spelling is Jacques and called by commentators as Jack...Good old memories. Greatest all rounder of all time
Just the sheer pleasure of watching Kallis vs McGrath
It's rarest to rare to be equally good with Bat and Ball.
Kalllis, you were one of such tribe.
such beautiful elegant shots...
Best technique, if u bowling to him can’t find a flaw to go past him .one of the best all rounder game hve seen .
kallis is undoubtedly The no.1 batsman ever played on planet earth."mic drop"
Manna Singh Then Obviously you have not heard of bradman

JackiBoi Haha True...And tendulkar too:)
Such a great all rounder of all time 😍😍😍
Kallis batting & bowling, Graeme Smith's Captaincy records----mindboggling!
In terms of the very best all-rounders, it’s hard to separate Kallis from Sobers in every possible way. Both class acts.
As a South African I always say the same. Jacques was incredible and he makes us proud but seeing footage of Gary Sobers is amazing and they played fewer tests in those days. Sobers could bowl both pace and spin in addition to being an incredibly good batsman. I would not separate them either. That's disrespectful to Sobers but what an achievement for Jacques to be there with him.
When you watch test matches like this compared to today you know T20 has been covid 19 to the game of cricket. No batsmen wants to score & play fearlessly. Kallis was one of his kind there won't be other like him.
Spoken like a true boomer. T20 is another way to experience the game. Not to mention it's helping fund a lot for the game
@4:54 Gilchrist giving hand shake to kallis century, How after do we see now a days.. Great personalities.
Amazing batsman, great skill to pull
There is something about these masters who Played in 1990's and 2000's.they are all time greats not only by numbers but they were absolute delight to watch.
I am talking about Sachin Tendulkar, rahul Dravid,Brian Lara,Ricky ponting and of course Jacques Kallis.
Best era of test cricket definitely.
Those three scintillating pull shot on Mc gra ball was real pleasure for me 👍😎👍😎😎😎😎😎👍
What is Symonds supposed to be bowling? Looks like some Right Arm Rubbish to me.
I think that's the technical term
Exactly
Right arm slow bounce
He balls off break better
Copying Andrew Flintoff's opinion of ponting bowling in backyard cricket aye?
Kallis is that one player who has no weakness whatsoever, only his lack of form... and that is very rare. Greatest of all time.
4:53 - a lovely and gentle touch by gilly to shake hands with kallis after getting his hundred.
His cover drive was the best in my book.
2003 to 2008 was a great era of cricket. Specially test cricket in Australia. I remember Pakistan tour of Australia in 2005. Wao! my childhood memories.
