I've been single for 31 years since my last divorce and wouldn't ever be married again. I know I should never have married or been a mother. I prefer my peace and quiet. So many of my friends have unhealthy, unhappy relationships. I love putting my key in the door and knowing I don't have to deal with anyone (except my dog).

Have we got to the point where nobody understands what's being said, because it's not spelled out precisely as you would like, when the meaning is otherwise clear?
Hopefully not and you just skimmed over the words, or just tired.
Which brings me to another thought: marriage and children are like a kind of prison sentence* which you must wait out and be largely freed of in middle age.
Only one way of looking at it...and obviously there are rewards.

In Spain we have a saying “mejor sola que mal acompañada” which translates to “better to be alone than with bad company”. Far better bring dingle than tied to someone who brings you down or brings trouble to your door.

Amen to your thoughts on being single. I agree!! Men were “fun” ( and sometimes NOT “fun) in my younger years. But in our age group, you grow into confidence and independence and recognizing you are complete and whole and awesome on your own. Feels good. I love my independence and being able to take care of myself…and coming home to MY dog. ❤️
Isn’t it wonderful to only sort our your priorities and not have to worry about a partner’s priorities, as well?😊 I’m 61, single (never married) living in San Francisco and Manhattan. I am so grateful for my single life.
I have been single for 8 years it’s peaceful but gets lonely because finding good friends at my age is hard! So it gets lonesome!

Far better to be happy, busy and single than married, bored and miserable ! Shorter hair needs lots of care to keep the style in tip top condition.
Absolutely LOVED being single and doing my own thing! Then, I went down to the dog park one day and that was it .... It is not worth giving up your freedom, especially when you are middle aged, unless he's absolutely amazing!

Same, I don't identify with my friends or they with me. I like being single but it's not the norm so it's hard to find people with a similar outlook to be friends with.

Do it Jo, I had mine cut exactly like that 2 weeks ago and everyone commented saying it looked fab and how brave I was!! It makes me feel young and trendy.😜 Make sure it’s a bit more layered on top so you don’t go flat. Do it, do it. Hair grows. I’m going even shorter next time. Xxx

You're haircut is so cute! Don't cut it shorter, it's a lot more work than longer hair!! It needs to be styled daily to look good. In fact leave it longer :) -Shoulder length at any age is flattering and easier to manage. I love your channel and Myrtle has stolen my heart♡ She's spectacular and so are you. At age 70, I have a short pixie cut and my hair is gray. I use argon oil on my hair to make the gray color shine and also on my face. Think Mia Farrow and Twiggy. The short hair gives me an instant face lift. I love it and receive many compliments. Go for it Jo! Love seeing London through your eyes.

I’m in a bedsit after teaching in Morocco. My house is rented out. Might go to Spain in September. Being single means I can do what I want. Have a purpose, that’s what makes life interesting.
Loved your being single comments Jo. Single myself, run a social group with 3 friends, 2 single one has relationship but shes still doing stuff on her own and will continue to do so better single than in wrong relationship. Love your Erdem dress x

You are a kind and thoughtful friend. I am sure your friends are fortunate to have you as a friend. There’s so much negativity attached to single people.
People fear what they do not understand. They won't even listen if you try to explain because they're afraid of contagion. And it is true that happy singles will act as an unintentional agitator if people are unhappily paired. Therefore to avoid the uneasy feelings involved, singles get excluded from many events. I had a friend tell me until she became a widow she would exclude single women from events. Now she knows what it's like.

Yes, the haircut would look great on you, imo. The only "downside" will possibly be the need for more frequent trimming to keep the shape. If it gets to be a bother, you can grow it out again. 💇♀️💖

You said mid week that you will use this bag every single day. On its 1st outing you are driving to protect it from the rain. I expect there will be many more driving days 🤣🤣 A Michelle Williams hair style will suit you perfectly because of your high cheek bones. I think you will probably be able to manage blow drying this shorter style as well. The veggie shop looked amazing, have never seen so many types of tomatoes.

Jo, I enjoyed the longer video. Don't ever give up your car. I so regret never learning to drive. I have to rely on cabs. You have so much independence and can go anywhere at any time, and take your Mum out aswell. Re the pixie cut, you can always try it and if it doesn't suit, grow it out again.

When Jo was showing us the green hut where cabbies get their coffee, she crossed the road & cab stopped to let her across. The cab that allowed Jo to cross the road had Matilda painted on its side. A sign that the gorgeous Matilda is always around ❤️watch over her human.
Great Vlog, as usual Jo, Can you not get a hairdresser to try a pixie wig on you before you decide on the chop? The green huts (Cabman's shelters) were originally built for the Hansom Cab drivers, that's how historic they are - they're the same length as a horse and Hackney carriage...

Hi Jo. Yet again,such an interesting vlog again and full of variety as always. I love the beautiful architecture in some of the London streets- ah,those beautiful Victorian and Georgian houses! I spend so much time looking upwards when I visit,I’m surprised I don’t trip over!! When the sun is shining,there’s not many finer cities. Mary Portis has campaigned and worked so hard for the fashion industry- she deserves so much credit. Myrtle looks as gorgeous as ever and is growing fast. I would go for the long pixie cut as it would really suit you and if you don’t like the result- you can always grow it again. Here, in TX, we call that hairstyle a "Bixie". It's something between a bob and a pixie. I think it would suit you very well! Love the longer vlog.
Hi Jo, about hair, about 4 years ago I went from very very long dark to very very short pixie with the aim to gradually stop all the dying and discover what was underneath. So happy to find it's silver which I love.
I always have a very edgy cut and even sometimes use a pink spray! Try it Jo

My two dogs sleep in a comfortable shed , heated in winter. Every day it is an absolute delight and wonderful start of my day to enthusiastic be greeted by them.
A shed? My dog would be distraught if he had to sleep in a shed ~ he sleeps on the bed with me
