Dark Souls - 1983 A world plunged into darkness, as the bridge between the dead and living get severed. A man awakens in a asylum prison cell with no memory, being deemed the last one with a pure, untouched Soul and not claimed as undead by the heresy and darkness corrupting the lands. Now his quest is to seek his purpose given by the gods and fulfill a centuries old prophecy, by closing the bridgeway between both worlds and helping bring peace to the remains of Lordran, a once a sprawling utopia lead by the gods.

I think remember seeing another comment from the original that intrigued me, it said something like “this feels like a dream you’d get from playing too much Dark Souls” was quite funny but also true in a way.

One of the many reasons i love dark souls + elden ring is how much it has quietly carried the torch for 80s style sword and sorcery influence in fantasy gaming. So much fantasy gaming these days is a very slight variation on Tolkien/gygax world building. Obviously Miyazaki takes a lot of inspiration from those, too, but his worldbuildng feels a lot more unique, weird, and creative than most high fantasy games these days.

I think a dark souls movie could be cool if they didnt stray too far from the "chosen undead replaces gwyn" narrative. Maybe show the chosen undead before they became undead, living their life, becoming undead, getting arrested, taken to the asylum, asylum escape scene as demons invade and destroy the asylum. Arrival at lordran meeting frampt who tells the chosen undead that he can regain his humanity by doing xyz only to find out that doing XYZ confirms that he is the chosen undead and destined to sacrifice his life to maintain the flame (a sudden twist for those who didnt play the game), the chosen undead maybe chooses to reverse hollowing at first, then returns to fight gwyn, lord of cinder as a human, or maybe he becomes more human as he fights his way through lordran, to reverse hollowing just before fighting gwyn, only to be left with the decision to rekindle the flame, or become lord over those who forced him into this destiny. Give the chosen undead no spoken name, and leave their morality questionable so that either ending isnt out of pocket.

Yo, AI don’t fuck around!
I've decided to list here some movies that, together and in different elements, give me this video' vibe (i also accept suggestions):
Excalibur (1981): I just love this movie's ambientation. Also the direcction is good, with lots of artistic decision i like (above all those, is the decision of filming on Ireland 🤤)
The princess bride (1987): An unexpected fun movie. Narrates the story just like a fairy tale with amazing oniric vibes and a curious fantasy world.
The legend (1985): Despite being from a director thar i like, i just don't like this movie. It's boring, but has some cool visuals.
LOTR Trilogy: Dismiss any comments.
Obs: Sorry for bad english, i'm actually brazilian.
Obs 2: Just as you give me suggestions, i'd love to edit this comments and add more movies.
Where are gaames with this art style, this makes everything look the same. AI is the future i think artists and companies are holding us back
I would watch this 100%. And the bloodborne one too
So dark souls as... dark souls.
