LUAI was right. The 60- 6 score helped samoa, first because it humbled them, all the talk about their star studded team, and second it made them feel on the ground and train hard and concentrate on their work they needed to do to get the team to work together as one.
Luai was class, I do feel Crichton or Lafai should’ve got MOTM though!

Being Dutch I don't know too much about rugby. This semi against Eng was really tight, could have gone both ways at any point, I thought. But all match long, I was afraid Samao would lose due to the ref and Eng's home advantage. Some ref calls weren't too fair on Samoa's side, I thought? Anyway, the last 3 Samoa games (France, Tonga and England) were really impressive with very spectacular and intense play. And the last 2 matches, espec this semi, were an absoute rollercoaster from beginning to end. Some of the best team sports I've ever seen. I wish them all the best in the final, I will be supporting them from the Netherlands for sure!

There's Rugby League (Rugby Football) and Rugby Union, both as old as each other.
Union swallowed the name "rugby" through history, governments and organisations or schools and Universities always tried locking out League various ways. For example, easy interesting read up on Vichy France on Rugby League or confiscating assets like fields, etc.

I agree other than ref being against them. It was Samoa's strategy to stop England playing by holding down, getting off line before the play etc and that means they will give away penalties and repeat sets. Ref can't do much if they keep committing fouls but in the end it paid off for them.
Lol gave me the same feeling 20 years ago refs going against poly teams, this time poly players are more intelligent the way they play.

Forward passes for days as well, always 3-6 feet in front of the referee in front of the 10, laying out the Samoan Kickers seconds after they kick and the one time a samoan player gives a england kicker a slight push its a penalty but Samoa had the last laugh.
I'm an aussie born n bred, bleed kangaroos from the first time watching Mal, Langer, Daley and co. don the green n gold and remembered that unreal feeling of '08 and feeling down and out in disbelief for the next week or so..........but for some strange feeling if we lose the final to the usos next week I would not mind at all not one bit. Who doesn't like a underdog Cinderella story I know the kiwis were also in '08 but there's something different with these island nations that you can't help but cheer and support dem on.

England played their best? 😂 England handed out gifts galore. The intercept try when on top, the missed catch by the fella with the dreadlocks, the forward pass to give Samoa a winning kick. Gift after gift. They should have won (Samoa have the best player in that fella at #6) but England are a stronger side. Don’t think it matters as I don’t see either giving the Aussies a game.

Not a RL follower so wouldn’t know if the ref was unfair or not. But to say England played their best is nonsense. They were terrible with so many unforced errors (the forward pass at the end...good God). Samoa deserve huge respect though, the #6 was mesmeric...his side steps were a thing of beauty.
@@Ali74 That incredible Samoan side just playing their average / below average game kept pressuring England to make mistakes and choke when it mattered even though england played their best game since the founding of their rugby league teams. Goes to show the absolute class and standard of this improving Samoan squad. From their first game til now, never playing together before to slowly gelling as a team albeit somewhat, obviously still not quite there but well done on both teams. Did their countries proud, especially england. Noone expected them to get this far

This is the craziest game I’ve ever seen. It could’ve went both ways. It was all down to that last kick. Beautiful end to the game. First game they lost to England by 60 and was made fun off, they met another powerhouse MMT in the quarters and came out successful But today they created history . Mighty Toa Samoa! The Usos laid it down all on the line, gave it everything they had and then some. One more to go to cap it for the history books! Already an epically historical win to be first Polynesian nation in a RLWC championship final. Surely erased that first round lopsided loss to England in that first round match weeks ago. Proud of our Samoan blood and heritage. My Tongan blood always knew it would be my Usos first to get to a RLWC championship game as we Samoans by nature are more communal than our Tongan brothers who tend to be more individuals as when we Usos see one another, it’s nothing but love whereas Tongans are more competitive with each other when they first meet. That’s why when one of us Uso gets in a fight, we all fighting no matter how deep our numbers or the opposition!
Don't want to sound off but New Zealand is the the first poly team to make the finals I get what you mean though
NZ is a nation with the UK monarch and their PM as their heads of state. I do consider the Union AB Maoris a Poly nation though. Granted both the Union and League squads of NZ are filled with players of Poly ancestry, but it remains a non-Poly nation unlike Samoa is a true one.

I’m saying our Tokos are not communal, just that we be more commual is all. I got you though, all Tokos and Usos we backing the play of Toa Samoa come day of the championship game! It is our history and culture that makes us more communal though given gaining independence from Tu’i Tonga, NZ with our Mau Mau fighters, and it’s in our everyday village life. If you’ve lived on Upolu, Savai’i, or with our Aiga I Le Tai, you’d know.

I wonder if Rugby Union would consider same arrangements to its players like Rugby League. It would make Rugby Union a bit more interesting to watch, like RLWC….well done Samoa. They changed them last year (albeit with a 3 year stand-down period) so who knows, we may see a similar thing in a few years.
Tier one countries will never let that happen and World Rugby will agree with them. Because they knew once if they let eligibility rules happen That’s the end of them… all this tiny nations will end up making the finals every Rugby Union World Cup..
