Some videos are just as iconic as the song, this is one. This was our anthem before we went out to see our little boyfriends. LOL! Some of my friend's older siblings went to school with her. I went to see her get to the city. It's past time for her to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. I hope she gets in this year.
I totally agree she should have been in there year's ago. I love all her music, and growing up in the 80s, junior high and high school days all the girls wanted to be her and dressed like her.
Considering the crap bands and "performers" that are in, it is a travesty that this heavenly rocking voice is not in the HOF (along with Giraldo's wicked licks!).
She has denied induction before because she wouldn't want to unless her guitarist husband also was inducted along with her. They wrote most of the songs together. And finally this year they were both nominated together. They've been married for four decades and always written and performed together for all of that time.
One of the best female singers of all time in my opinion. We had her and Nancy Wilson rocking the 70's- 90's . Thanks for sparking the memory!!!!😃🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦
Pat Benatar is a powerhouse vocalist in a petite frame. She had a lot of great songs in the 80's such as "Heartbreaker", "We Live For Love", "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", Fire & Ice", "Shadows Of The Night", "Love Is A Battlefield", "We Belong", "Invincible", "All Fired Up", "Treat Me Right", "Promises In The Dark" etc.
Love Pat! Saw her live in the 80s, and she rocks! She does have a trained opera voice, but chose rock and roll! And with her good lookin guitar player husband at her side! Please just watch the live video of PB's "Promises In The Dark"! 💞🎼🎸✌️
One of my favourite female vocalists of the 80's! I'm pretty sure she was classically trained which would explain her ability to hit those notes without straining
One of my favorite songs ever! Pat has an amazing voice and I'm so glad I have had the pleasure of seeing her live! I can't hear this without seeing the video in my head lol. Great reaction, great take on a fantastic song!
Her song Invincible is an anthem and was from a great 80s movie called The Legend of Billie Jean with Helen and Christian Slater. She’s the epitome of great 80s womens voices!
I remember seeing Pat Benatar back in Atlanta, Georgia on September 28th 1981, my mom’s birthday, when I was delayed having to report back to Ft. Rucker, Alabama. Some would say I purposely created the delay, lol. Great concert.
Can't go wrong with Pat Benatar. Powerhouse female vocalist. Coincidentally heard this song on the radio this weekend. Other songs by her to check out - Hell is For Children, Heartbreaker, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, Promises in the Dark
Watched Pat Benetar and the Bangles live in Sydney a few years ago. Both were great but Pat was the stand out by far. So engaging with the audience, and that voice........ 💕
You should watch the video that goes with the song it's a great one. Pat B was an amazing artist of the 80s and still is and her music is timeless. I love watching you guys ❤❤❤😊
Pat Benatar was an O.G. rock goddess!! She checked all the boxes: LOOKS- she was beautifully adorable, VOICE- a powerful, classically trained voice with almost Mariah Carey range, SONGS- everything from pop-rock top 40 hits to kick-ass rock anthems. Pat was the real deal. 🤘
Your so right!!...her voice grabs your attention and asks for you to listen. She sounds and looks a little like another 80s singer Sheena Easton who i strongly recommend. One to follow if requested. Thanks to both of you again.
I’ve been a subscriber of y’all’s for a while and I LOVE y’all’s content! Been a big Pat fan for 40+ years, she was the BEST female rocker out there for 10+ years! Try “Love is a Battlefield “ recorded live!❤️🤘🏻
You should react to the official music video for this song. It shows the battlefield between the parent and child love relationship which I feel this song is written about. React to her song Hell Is For Children please.
Always loved this song. But when I hear or think of Pat Benatar, HIT ME WITH YOUR BEST SHOT is the first song I think of. You guys HAVE to check that out. I remember as a kid, family house parties and my mom and aunts belting out this song EVERY time. They still do, just my cousins and I join in now. Lol
Oh you guys really missed out by not doing the very iconic video for this very iconic song. Quite possibly the most 80s thing that ever did exist. It's absolutely glorious :-)
This might be an alternative recording ,It may not be the exact original mix.. I think it is slightly different than the original ....Check the Official Video for this song and you might hear slight differences .
The video tells the story of her fight with her father. She left home and ended up in not too great a place before she decided to go home. Strong video scenes. She is classically trained in opera.
Kiss Me Deadly by Lita Ford and Better Be Good To Me by Tina Turner are both absolute 80s bangers..both of these female rockers would definitely be worth a reaction..thanks for the videos friends! Keep rocking and blessings to you and yours 🤟
Her best hit in my opinion. Her other songs are: Heartbreaker, Invincible, We Belong, Fire and Ice, Promises in the Dark, Shadows of the Night, Hell is for Children, Hit Me With Your Best Shot, All Fired Up, Treat Me Right, We Live For Love, You Better Run, Precious Time, Little Too Late, Looking For A Stranger, Sex As A Weapon. Asia, you a rugrat haha. BJ mentions the song has passion well obviously it does because "Passion" requested it haha. Btw, you both need to see this music video :D
The search for love takes you through people who will break your heart in that battlefield. Then you get gun shy and don't rush into the next time with your heart on your sleeve.
I think it’s time for some more Pat Benatar. How about promises in the dark or hell is for children. The latter is this song about child abuse. You guys are awesome. Thank you for what you do.
Worth a look at some of these groups if you want something different as I don't think you have covered much British Indie stuff yet. The Stone Roses, The Smiths, The Arctic Monkeys, Joy Division, New Order, Blur, Oasis, Ocean Colour Scene, Shed 7, The Bluetones, Echo and The Bunnymen, Sleeper, Gomez, The Courteeners, The Vaccines.
I'm happy you're reacting to Pat Benatar, but you're not experiencing what made her the #1 female in rock in the early 80s, which was her harder rock songs. Please try "Heartbreaker" , "Hell Is For Children", "Promises In The Dark" & "Hit Me With Your Best Shot."
Her Husband Gerod the Getuarist is right up there in the top ten guitar players. Never got that recognition. They had the family on tour. She was an Opera singer gone rock and roll. Together they are the perfect match kinda like you two. Wondering if their kids can play or sing. Hummmm.
Y’all are messing up by not watching the official videos with the songs… that’s part of the experience. This is one of those song where you should watch the video with it. Next time try to find the original video to the song because then you’re not only reacting to the song but the video too.
The video sort of was groundbreaking at the time. The choreography but also the storyline of the video. The runaway kid who gets kicked out of her house ends up working in a dime a dance for a pimp but rallies the other girls to fight back and then goes back home.
I appreciate you guys reacting to the song and not the video. I've seen a few reactions to this song, but as a video and they miss the talent, the vocals and the instrumentation. One comment though...when you said you can hear her voice echo in the booth. Although I understand that technology has changed drastically over the past (gulp) 40'ish years, sound proofing, mics, and certain techniques are still the same. Back then, artists would add various levels of echo or reverb to the vocals. Otherwise, they would sound "flat" without depth. Here, they use just a little. Listen to George Michael, who uses echo in most of his songs. Prince used a massive amount of echo on some of his songs. Y'all are fun. I'll definitely be checking out more reactions from your channel
Neil Giraldo (her husband guitarist/producer/songwriter) had a lot to do with creating the "80s rock" sound. I find a lot of reactors stick with the earlier iconic tracks. Which are amazing for sure and they helped kill disco. lol. But it is the later 80s and 90s tracks where Benatar's voice really shines. Having said that "Sex As A Weapon" is a banger.
This was one of the first albums I ever purchased as a kid. (after Pink Floyd the Wall). And, this is not one of those albums with only one good song. See for yourself. You will not be disappointed.
Thanks for the trip down memory lane please give a listen to Invincible by pat benatar it was the main song in the movie The Legend of Billy Jean from the 1980s

Why do I feel as if a notification from y’all of Yellow Ledbetter by Pearl Jam came across my phone earlier??? Now I can’t find it and I’m so upset, that’s my fave PJ song 😭
Pat needs to get in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Please vote her in this year!!
She isn't already?!
@@gertrudelaronge6864sadly, no. She's nominated this year and hopefully will finally get in. She definitely deserves to!
@@a-dub yes she does, I'm with you man. Love this lady!
I think it's because she want's her husband to be included
Take me back to the 80's...back to when life made some kind of sense
Amen!!
Dam straight, totally agree. Nothing like growing up in the 80s
🤣 true! I started flashing pictures of the movie, “Legend of Billie Jean” 🤣
Saw her just a few years ago in concert with a few other girl rockers. She can still sing her butt off.
Pat Benatar was fantastic. One of the best concerts I ever saw. She was originally a trained opera singer.

Heartbreaker came out in 1979
Check out Pat's song called "Hell is for Children" a rocker about child abuse.

Ahhh my girl pat. Being an 80’s baby I grew up on her. Do heartbreaker next. Make sure you do the live performance. Love you guys!!
One of my favorite songs ever! Pat has an amazing voice and I'm so glad I have had the pleasure of seeing her live! I can't hear this without seeing the video in my head lol. Great reaction, great take on a fantastic song!
It’s funny how this song is synonymous with its official music video that it’s odd listening to it without it.
Another Queen of Rock. Pat Ruled the 80’s!! Iconic!
Her vocals in “Fire and Ice” will blow your faces off.
Pat Benatar was a big part of the music scene during her time and what a fricken voice she has
If you get a chance, go back and watch the video to this song. Pat does some serious dancing to it.
Just saw her and Neil Tuesday in concert, and at 71, she still sounds amazing.
Her song Invincible is an anthem and was from a great 80s movie called The Legend of Billie Jean with Helen and Christian Slater. She’s the epitome of great 80s womens voices!
One of my favorite “lesser known” 80’s movies! I named my cat Binx after Christian Slater’s character in this movie 💕
@@georgianajones2346 I like how they incorporated Arnie from Christine into the movie! It was such a great movie

Hell is for children is such a great song!
1983, I was 17 and this was playing in all the clubs, flitting from one relationship to another, yes love was a battlefield. I miss those days.
A total classic 80's! I remember when this came out and loved it then and still do.
Great song, vibe, harmonies. The 80s had some great stuff. Just listened to your review of "Sade - The Sweetest Taboo".
Rugrats! Yay!! Love the sweatshirt!
Pat Benetar has a strong voice and sings a lot about fighting for one thing or another

Pat is definitely a GOAT!!!!
Gotta do "Promises In the Dark", and "Fire and Ice", by Pat Benetar
One of my favs, but the official video also made this song even more iconic. Highly highly recommend "Invincible" next - such a banger!
Pat was a trained opera singer, but she liked rock, and thank god! She became one of the very the best female rockers of the 80s. Icon.
