This house is a strange one imo. I love the creativity and the execution is awesome (obviously, Cresp) but the fragrances are almost _too_ good... they smell exactly like what the brief calls for but that makes them difficult wears. A sales associate in my local department store said they just don't sell. They deserve more love
I can’t imagine anything smelling more coffee that Keresone’s followed. It’s a one spray coffee beast. One spay of this and one spay of Sorriso is my secret weapon. Mmmm mocha.
I was just coming back here to mention this! As compared to their OG fragrance called Follow, the newest release from kerosene (which they very basically called Followed lol) is much smoother, not as overbearing in the opening, and imo is much more beautiful and tasty smelling. I assume that Awake may be more similar to follow as they both have coffee and cardamom prominently, whereas followed is a more delectable caramel, coffee, and chocolate scent, which I think is absolutely stunning!
@@Bradeyyyyy would say this is far superior to Follow & Followed (the latter I sampled this week). Next to Awake they smell sort of roughly composed, pungent & overpowering in a bad sort of way.
I have it and it does smell like coffee but has a chemical after smell. I’m not a big fan. I believe your better off with coffee spired scents. Try bunisimo by hilde, that’s really good
Good vid about a relatively new French niche brand that few have talked about. I ordered/received the sample kit from Akro (French expression for “hooked”). Awake” is a GREAT coffee scent. Lasts forever on my skin so quality and concentration are high (so is the price). Do not compare with Halloween Man X. Man X starts with a good coffee scent but on my skin the dry down is awful (smells of rank, sour coffee-quality clearly not there). The tobacco scent is also amazing (competes with TF T. Vanille for quality). Haven’t tried “Ink” but heard that it’s good too. Overall: high quality niche brand that pushes the boundaries for those who are fragrance aficionados. With ca$h.
Best coffee scent I have is Coffee Addict by Theodoros Kalotinis, which is so photorealistic that I have a hard time imagining that Awake is as successful (but I'm very curious to put it to the test). Plus, it's 45€ which is an utter steal. Highly recommend that everyone at least take a look at the house.
We recently bought that (being in Greece on holiday) and it lasts a long time, we're talking into the next day! The coffee is a milky coffee with a bit of cacao bean as well. In other words, is not as bitter as Montale's Ristretto Intense cafe's opening. But we like Coffee Addict. Haven't smelled Awake yet though.
I just got a discovery set for these fragrances so I’m glad you did a review. Hey ash you definitely need to do meet and greets I think your missing out on opportunities to collab with brands you actually like and to meet the people that love you bro, peace ✌🏽
ASH!!! How doe sit compare to Salvatore Ferragamo Uomo Casual Life. I see similar notes with the coffee, cardomom and lemon. Curious if SF Uomo CL which I own would make this redundant? Been getting into coffee and more "fall" fragrances lately. I do love vetiver 🤔
hey ashe, i had a question, Ross from TLTG reviews just did a review on best gym frags, now i know your stance on gym frags but had me curious on what you would consider wearing to the gym for a solid compliment factor (on a side note, if your looking to take your fragrance game to the next level, how about checking out some fragrances from Francesca Bianci and some indie houses, i know you'd enjoy city rhythms and authenticity perfumes)
This fragrance is good if you like the coffee and cardamom combination. I don't, so I'm not a fan. Kerosene Follow is the best pure coffee scent for me by a long shot.
Thank you for these videos, Ash. It seems things just keep getting more...complicated..in the world, to put it lightly. The fragrance community is one of the only things I genuinely enjoy these days.
Awake is what I think a non-sweet Comme des Garcons coffee Scent would smell like. You've got to get your hands on Follow by Kerosene. I rate it above Awake for a coffee fragrance.
Just checked my golden bag of Tchibo Colombia Edition coffee beans. This is to my nose one of the best smelling coffees I can find here in Germany. Half a kg costs only €7.99. Of course, I would not pour coffee dust onto myself and pretend to have a fragrance, but good coffee smells so good, actually I wish it was that easy. In any case, if there is a list of most affordable note ingredients, I guess coffee ought be in it. So as much as I love the smell of cofffee, spending almost $200 for 100 ml of a "realistic" coffee fragrance? Hmm, not sure. Curious to smell it though, but also slightly skeptic about its alleged realism. E.g. I dont find the grapefruit in D&G LB Forever realistic. Doesn't make my mouth water? -> not realistic enough, at least for grapefruit.
They added a sample of this when I ordered another fragrance. Can’t say it’s worth the price but it was so good. Probably best “random sample” companies sent me with packages. More on the latte side imo but pretty realistic. -coming from a cafe worker, fwiw 😊
You should try Zara x Jo Malone ‘Vetiver Pamplemousse’. Best Grapefruit note I’ve yet to experience in any fragrance (yes better than Light Blue Forever imo), and it’s dirt cheap too. Massively underrated. 🙌🏻
@@SirSillageSniffington Thanks I do have Vetiver Pamplemousse and do think it's great. For me however the most realistic grapefruit smell I have is still another one, not even a fragrance actually but a shaving cream: Old Taylor of Bond Street Grapefruit shaving cream. I smell it and my mouth does water. The senses so completely tricked, that is what really deserves an ultimate "realistic" qualifier.
I suggest people rate how sweet a fragrance is, especially when they only dare to use fragrance, not even clarifying perfume or cologne. Bought a perfume a few days ago recommended by another influencer not mentiomed one hint of the sweetness, and got me sick at the first sniff and very unhappy 💢
I have been looking for a coffee scent where I just feel like I've got a coffee house all over me. I haven't been able to find anything. This may be it.
Sounds similar to Azabache by Santa Lucia, except it has pepper and slight tobacco with the coffee. Pretty linear scent, but I could never recommend anyone try it because it's easily the most unprofessional fragrance company I have ever dealt with.
Another "smells exactly like coffee" is Sebastiane Espreso Royale. I have to really be in the mood to wear it due to getting the "who smells like Starbucks in here?" comments lol

Can you review Follow and Followed by Kerosene?
Had my eye on this one for a bit now, never tried so nice to get a review!
Great review and I enjoyed it and I'm going to try it and have a blessed day

Great fragrance to review for this time of year
This has been on my radar for some time. I will eventually sample some from the house.
You sould try BDV Kawha if you like coffee and cardamom. Keep up the good work.
I bet this will be the 5th fragrance in your scent kit !
Will get it next week, can’t wait !

The coffee layering fragrance of choice.⭐☕⭐
Once again waiting for you to try vanille havane, I want credit for it
I know it doesn't have patchouli or lavender but by any chance does it smell close to Armani Attitude?
A coffee scent tgat isn't smothered by vanilla/amber/tonka bean? I have to check that out.
Halloween man x is a great coffee scent for its price
Could you do a review on CDNIM limited edition?
Is Nishane Hacivat worth it?
Definitely!! More grown up version of Aventus. More incense. Beautiful dry down. Prefer this or Cedrat Boise. Performance is soooo much better 😊
yes 👍
Absolutely, you can get 100ml testers at a very good price from discounters. Stuff is also beast mode and will last all day.
@@Goldman-Khazar-Rothschild Have you tried cedrat biose Intense? If so how would you compare the two

Monk, meet Ash; Ash- meet Mr Monk. He also doesn’t like things that are “off centered”.
This is an Iso E Super bomb.
Do you consider this equal or superior to Mancera Aoud Café?
I was thinking this or Ristretto Intense Cafe. Or even Polo Red Extreme.
@@DrRDW this is a whole other level to those.
I am liking your niche reviews, a nice change of pace from the peasant smells

Super disgunting to my nose
this simply blows away all other coffee scents it's not even funny. Kerosene, Montale you name it this is THE coffee fragrance.

No black, no dark, no deep. Just not my cup of coffee ❌☕ So sweet & very light.
