    Those reds were clearly visible as you turned in to the hairpin,had you not been looking behind you,you would have seen them and the other kart. These things happen,seen it happen loads of times over the years. Pretty fortunate not to injure yourself which is a bonus though,unexpected ones like that usually hurt the most!

Always check behind You before entering a wide corner in case someone is there is just common sense. The difference between experience and ignorance. Hope You're ok mate. I do feel very bad for the staff there. I know a few of them and I have for years. To see them have to deal with the budget theyre given is horrible. Fortunately, I've never dealt with horrendous races there, just some of the worst karts I've ever sat in. And that is no way the staffs fault, just teamsport in general.

    The guy should never stop at the bottom of the ramp granted but considering you planted the throttle after the lights went red and kept it full throttle, I don’t really see it being his fault. It seems you didn’t see the lights change
    It happens and we’ve all been there, sometimes light changes are easy to miss in the heat of the moment when tunnel vision is in effect

    First of all I hope your fine.
    However in regards to your title & also the racing I watched sadly IMO I think it’s self inflicted.
    Firstly there’s on overtake and you can see that the person is going towards the barrier (although there’s space for you) you took that line where they wouldn’t of looked at that time & caused a slight collision.
    In regards to your main accident, the hairpin before going up the hill you turned into it and the lights clearly changed for you to slow down, you didn’t see the lights nor did you see the person Infront of you that stopped (wrongly) at bottom of the ramp.
    Sadly self inflicted.

    • @jbLUFC
      @jbLUFC  2 года назад +1

      They “clearly” turned when you watch it back considering no context of me checking my blind spot.
      Bad timing combined with a guy stopped at the bottom of a hill when he shouldn’t be doesn’t make it self inflicted.
      The other incidents are passes on a complete set of rookies who were very unpredictable at a track that id never raced at before. Everything needs context

    you have to expect driving standards to be pretty low in an open session. i would suggest your experience had as much to do with your own attitudes as anyone else on track (swearing into your helmet on a straight when nothing else was going on for example). you drove flat out into a kart infront which had possibly stalled. unluckily timed with the shoulder check, i will admit, however this incident was caused by not observing your own surroundings efficiently. try to go into these sessions with a 'guess what the idiot will do' mentality, and don't get worked up about the actions of others as this will only effect your own. for higher driving standards book onto members events, hope to see you at one -iain

    • @jbLUFC
      @jbLUFC  2 года назад +1

      Karting for 25 years (starting at 6) I think qualifies as experienced, standard been low is expected, as low as I experienced in this? Not so much.
      I do however accept that I let my emotions run often when I’m in the kart however the accident had very little to do with been aware of the surroundings given the circumstances.

    • @SpeedyRank
      @SpeedyRank 2 года назад

      the video may state that, but you never stop at the bottom as especially with petrol karts you dont have enough power to go up quickly. I never will stop on a red at a bottom of a ramp unless its a down ramp

    • @jbLUFC
      @jbLUFC  2 года назад

      You never stop at the bottom of a ramp period. It makes no sense to say it’s applicable half way up the ramp. The rule is always carry on and stop at the top. Aside from that it was unfortunate timing of when I check over my right shoulder and the red light coming on. I fail to ever understand how this is “my fault” while recognising a lot of it was bad timing

    This is precisely why teamsport should not deploy a straight to red light system. It should always go yellow first and drivers should be inatructed to pull off the racing line before slowing down. Will stop so many accidents like this.

  • @HOSHJUGHES
    @HOSHJUGHES 5 месяцев назад

    Don't care what any of the comments say, they tell you multiple times literal minutes before you get in your kart to never stop at the bottom of a ramp even on red so it wasn't your fault, even if you are looking behind. On a members night this would never happen. I do think they should bring back the blue flags/lights and emphasise to the public visiting that it is timed and nothing to do with position. Glad you came out of this okay!

  • @simonrigby529

    Overtaking on yellow flags is the wrong thing to do. Even on the briefing video it clearly says NO OVERTAKING on a yellow flag. Yet there are always some who ignore the rules and the guy who stopped at the bottom of the ramp was in the wrong. Can not stop at the bottom of the ramp. The briefing video could not be more clearer.

    you shouldn't stop at the bottom of ramp, you should go up it but it isn't all on him, u were looking behind to check on the driver you were battling with hense why you didn't see the red flags and then crashed. so really its just an accident but you do need to remain calm especially in motorsports. sportmanship is key.

  • @racerook7237
    @racerook7237 Год назад +1

    It's yelloooooooooooow after overtaking someone under yellow......

    Hope you were OK mate? I think that crash was maybe caused by a number of factors, the guy shouldn't have stopped at the bottom of the bridge I agree, but to be fair, a spun kart could also have ended up there. Looking at your helmet camera direction just before impact, you looked over your shoulder at the guy you'd just passed and therefore maybe didn't see the lights turn yellow then red, so you didn't lift. You didn't appear see the stationary kart either until it was too late and because you were still hard on it, avoidance was impossible.
