Ashlyn thanks for allowing Micah and Nate to provide content on your channel. Nate you did a really good job. Micah please do that tobacco harvest video. It sounds old school and interesting. Be safe!
When I was about Nate's age... I was helping crop tobacco for summer/fall work...then for a few months actually delivered/ran milk(in glass gallon bottles) to doors for a local Sowega dairy co-op...but that didn't last too long...as I wasn't then, nor have I ever been, an "early riser", but I gave it a whirl...so even though I wasn't involved with the moo moos directly,, still love seeing all the care and hard work Ash, Tony, Micah, Nate and all the others put in💪...to keep 🇺🇸 in 🍦🍶🍨👍🐄🐄🐄💩🐄🐄💩💩🐄💩💩🐄💩🐄💩🐄💩🐄🐄🐄💩💩‼️ Thank ya'll so much!
The Red Brother Warriors need to start their own channel, both seem very good at it already. Glad you let them share your channel, it was very interesting. Micah has my ADHD when he was weed whacking instead of picking bales I totally understood why he did it. 🤣🤣
my family has raised tobacco (Burly)& cattle all my life & for several generations and i grew up doing it from on hands and knees pulling plants to what we called pig tailing (follow the setter) an every thing in between it is/was the main cash crop where im at very small town (ky) but it was also how most kids learned about money & hard work an just life in general year after year from listening to every one talk and tell story's about it when they was kids doing it ! and now most kids are so dumb they dont know what a pair of pliers or a screwdriver is for little on a darn tobacco knife! I Enjoyed fooling with it i miss it so bad some times..my favorite was always the striping an bs ing with an old wood stove most of the time around here....it is some of my favorite memory's growing up ! I say a Really Big Part of our (my family & community's heritage & Legacy got bought out buy uncle sam for nothing pretty much IMO & to be honest im still kinda pissed about the whole thing !
It is very hard work and very demanding, but it is satisfying and rewarding. It is one of the only jobs on a farm where the entire group is in the field working together just talking and working side by side. They are long hard days tho. And ahh yes the memories of the tobacco cellar, wood stove and old men talking and sharing exaggerated stories 😂
Hey Ashlyn thanks for sharing what Micah and Nate were doing, very interesting the straw baling process. Question for Micah do you raise burley tobacco or dark tobacco?
Yup, main goal is for wrappers. Wrappers are for perfect leaves and have no holes. They’re the best cause they’re the highest quality and used to roll and wrap cigar’s
Thanks! Finally someone on my side 😂 doubtful I’ll make my own channel but I’ll try and keep getting some stuff in with Ashlyn’s if it’s ok with him and others 👍
@@micahfrey8486 Bertie County is in the East north east part of the state. My job carried me there many times. Much more farmland there, than where I am.
Mic-AH-AH-AH! Not bad of course you're no SmartASH! lol. As for NaterATOR! giving you slack....you reap what you sow brother. I recall SONEONE saying "it's like a rule". You guys made me nervous reaching in there with the tractor running, did you notice the flywheel creep before you engaged the PTO? 10 by 10 farming boys, come out of it with 10 fingers & 10 toes. Just sayin, I've seen allot of things people said couldn't happen with machinery....happen. I got the fun job of taking the hired man's finger tips out of the tractor. Anyway NaterATOR! good first time filming on a high class channel. 🙄 You get my dad's famous "left handed" compliment, "I don't care what they keep sayin about you, I think you're great"😂🤣 seriously guys nice job, thanks.
We know plenty of people who have had accidents and our dad has trained us well to cautiously work on the equipment. We had the baler shut off and the flywheel brake on so that nothing can spin while we were working in there.
@@micahfrey8486 all good to hear, thank you. Sounds like you may have been a bit insulted by my comment, not my intention, sorry if you took offense. I hope you can understand it was driven purely out of concern and not judgement. I'm pretty sure you've put other viewers minds at ease, and maybe someone else watching can benefit from a safety reminder. I've always appreciated ToeKnee's safety explanations.
Sorry if it sounded like that not insulted at all! I appreciate the concern and that other people who may not even have any experience with equipment recognize the dangers of some jobs and what could be harmful

Good question because I don't even know.
We actually raise PA-41 tobacco. We also have about 2 acres of Connecticut tobacco
