While I know nothing about Motely Crew's drummer in particular, I do know that some rock stars can run intellectual circles around you and their knowledge and wisdom vastly surpasses yours; *that* much, I can assure you. Staged acts tell you nothing about the contents of a person's head.
If you don't believe that, look up "Brian Cox" and "Brian May" on Wikipedia. They are both rock stars, but they also both have 4-year university degrees in physics. You want "IQ points"? Those two have IQ points, probably a lot more of them than you do.
Bottom line: you need better criteria and more evidence before your assessments of people's IQ are likely to bear any resemblance to actual reality.

To all of the people who say that they shouldn't play the music they played during the drum solo; Tommy Lee chose to have that music on during the drum solo because that's the kind of stuff he likes playing to. if you don't like it go somewhere else, watch some other video, listen to some other music. If you are so against Tommy playing to a different genre of music then don't go to the concerts, save your seats for someone who will enjoy the show.

Tommy has been doing these stunts since the band could afford it. He even said it in the video how he dreamt it long ago. He's a kick ass guy! Met him in '98. He's an adventurous type of guy. I got the benefit to see the Crüecifly before anyone, being they kicked this tour off in my hometown (Grand Rapids, MI), on July 2, 2014. It's awesome, Tommy is awesome as a drummer too. I've been in music, I've known music snobs, and many of them say when it comes to rock drummers, Tommy is one of top. People always hating! He has diverse tastes, so F**KING what, I do too. Mötley Crüe has been my most favorite band for over 30 years now, but I like other music beside rock. I own classical music too (Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, etc., I didn't want the ignoramuses to think I meant classic rock.) The one genre thing are the same people that have no diversity or open mindedness, that equals ignorant, like a teenager. The f-bombs, well that is Mötley as well. They all say it, as well as I, so big f**king deal. It's a diverse word, can't think of many other words in the English language that can be used as a noun, adjective, or verb depending upon the usage. So to the Mötley Crüe fans, LONG LIVE THE CRÜE! All the haters can go - yes, you guessed it - F**K OFF!

This happened at the Green Bay Wi. show in November of 2014. Only difference was at the Green Bay show it only got 10-15 feet up and then t stopped. Disappointed but such is life at a show.
Still a kick ass show and worth every penny.

The coaster is a cool gimmick but his choice of generic dubstep/techno/wigger shit in the middle of a heavy metal show is the textbook definition of "fail". I can't really think of anything more awkward and out of place. Thanks Lemmy ;)

It is possible to have talent and also use theatrics at the same time. Alice Cooper has serious talent. Are his stage shows a bunch of gimmicks? No. It is shock rock - part of the show. He doesn't need it, but he likes doing it. And he was a big influence on Motley. Tommy has been doing stuff like this with his drums for 30 years. He is known for it. He is my favorite drummer, even with out all of it. I am just so bummed it broke down on the final night.

Brown Trout I never said it was a "line" and I don't care too know anything about Motley Crue except I saw them once live. I had free tickets from the promoter and I feel I spent too much. All I left the show with was bad hearing and a headache.
I don't do homework on bands, I listen too their music and that is it. I don't care who the band members are or when their birthdays are. I don't want too meet them, I don't give a fuck about their politics, I just want them too do their job and play music. Get it, got it, *good*.
And how wasnt he doing his job till something malfunctioned. Did the rest of the show go on? Did guitar solo or next song start sooner? Did her not play the drums the rest of the night? I saw Paul Stanley get stuck half way to the 2nd stage on the Farewell Tour. Just hung there until they hooked his foot and dragged him back in.
That was actually kinda cool, though I wish the sound didn't keep cutting in and out. Looks like it was a fun concert, except for the minor glitch. I'm glad the drummer was able to escape the disabled apparatus without injury.

As for "smart phones", here's a tip: Don't communicate in writing using smart phones. Just don't do it. Whatever it is, it can wait! Leave your phone in your pocket and only use it to make phone calls. Wait til you get home and _then_ write comments and replies on RUclips videos, using a keyboard and all 10 fingers (so that you can easily type at 25WPM instead of 3WPM) and using 14pt font on a 26" monitor (instead of squinting at 7pt font on a 2" phone screen, which fucks-up your eyes). You'll find that that's a _much_ easier way to communicate.

I saw Tommy Lee fall out from his suspended drum kit in 1990. The show ended early as he was rushed to the hospital.

That rollercoaster thing is the silliest idea I have ever seen. I wonder how much money they would have saved by not dragging that stupid thing to every show and spending all that time with set up and tear down. What a complete waste of time and energy.
