2500+ Mile trip, in a truck that hasnt been on the road in at least 30 years. Fly in, fix, and drive home! Get your Holden Bros Merch here www.bunkerbran...
Oregon resident here, welcome to the state! I live in Eagle Point, if you are in the area and need a place to crash, food and tools hit me up! we are right off of I5 Southern Oregon, I am retired Army and always put up my fellow Veterans I served with on their trips lol
@@connieholdenchambers548 outstanding Momma Holden, ty for your service! During the invasion in 2003 I was running around with you alls Air Force PJs, good times lol I actually was issued an Air Force achievement medal that I got to wear on my army uniform that use to confuse people 😂good memories working with you all ❤️
@@ThatOldStoner right on, I lived in Sam’s Valley as a kid, shipped out for the army at 18, did 21 years and came right back to the Valley, Ive always loved it here but it is much busier than it used to be to be. What work did you do here?
@@connieholdenchambers548 I hope your a praying Mom, Those Texas boys of yours are going to find out real fast they don't know how to drive on snow and ICE. Four wheel drive won't help much, tell them to GO SLOW on snow and ice, maybe they will listen to Mom?.
I figured you guys would hook up with Ben and 406 Garage sooner or later. Ben probably has one of the largest collections of Cornbinders in the West if not the entire country.
Wife and I just made this drive actually! We took I-5 down to I-10 and had no problems in the mountains in Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. The I-5 is very well maintained but all the same chains are always great to have JUST in case.
I’m stoked for this road trip! I’m a Milton Washington resident (near Tacoma). No snow up here on this side of the mountains. Good luck fellas, it’s gonna be a gas.
I’ve been waiting on this video! I’m excited to follow along with this adventure. The redwoods are absolutely amazing. I really want to head back and take my crew cab out west on an adventure like this.
This is amazing! I hope y’all do a compilation video at the end of the journey too! I think youtube algorithm favors the complete journey vids after a multi-video series concludes. Anyways, I can’t wait to see what comes of this! I really hope this is a first of many trips and gets huge! These kinds of trips is the best way to sample a piece of America along the way.
Oh god I can't believe this is finally happening!! Been waiting for this for over two years for you guys to get up to 406 garage. I watch 406 garage after seeing him through Casey Ladelle. Ask Ben what his international flat deck tow truck says on the door
Good luck young fellas, I would take wool socks, wool mittens, and a knit cap, along with some WINTER insulated boots. Use layers in your clothing, and I hope your Mom relays my message to you. GO SLOW on snow and ice, that 4 wheel drive scout will get you lots of places. I'm a lifelong rural New York resident and in winter we have a saying about "young people and 4 wheel drives" - the faster you go in snow, the further stuck you will get. I hope that advice serves you well.
What better motivation for a ridiculous road trip than the retrieval of an International Travelall. As the owner of a 1957 A120 4x4 Travelall I get it. Best of luck!
You will never sleep in a colder vehicle ! Anybody who has ever slept in an old Travelall can attest to that . I sure hope the heater and defrost work good .
I made that trip pretty close. The panhandle of Texas to Seattle. While in Seattle I inadvertently ended up on an episode of Cops. They were raiding an apartment and I was just walking down the sidewalk. I had no clue what they were up to until months later when I saw myself on TV. Other than that I made a big mistake at Bullhead City, Arizona. I made a right and ended up in Las Vegas. Let's just say the rest of the trip to Seattle and back was on credit cards
If you head west to I5 stop by Goshen Market Exit 188 for Goshen just south of Eugene. I'll have coffee and fresh biscuits and gravy ready when you get here
Luckily for you guys, it's been really really nice up here. You could have even come through Montana/Wyoming Idaho and back down. The cold snap has long since passed. It was 60 in MT today. (slightly unusual, but not out of the random weather we get anyway).
can't wait to see your trip. that ought to be a trip for you all to remember and for us to enjoy. seems like I saw a video of that guys place on Casey ledell wrecker video. very nice place and tons of parts truck. you guy have a great time and can't wait to see the video's ..beautiful part of the the country in summer. have fun
This is awesome bros! I heard in your last video that you just hired another new guy at the shop and I figured you guys would be freed up to do more projects like this one now.
Stop at Shasta/Chappie Off Highway Vehicle Area. Amazing 4 wheel drive roads and trails as well as some beautiful views. Maybe stop in lassen national park for some camping as well. One of the top trout fishing towns in the country in that area as well as some great people that are more than willing to help you guys out with any problems you may have! Good luck. I hope to see some content from that area!
You should touch base with Casey LaDelle, he has a Rescue Channel on YT, and he is friends w 406 Garage, they occasionally share videos. He would be a great help to your adventure..
Sounds like you will be headed through my town, (Chico, CA) on the way to IH Parts America. If you need tools or a place to work on the travelall as you head through hit me up, I would love to meet you both. Also Jeff Ismail at IH Parts America is an awesome dude, briefly met him at Sierra Fall Rallye last year and got to see project hideous in person. If you need any other IH help in Oregon Dan Hayes at Binder Boneyard is a great guy. Has a shop in Redmond as well.
Same here stop by if weekend is on the belt my 4.3 ticks don’t know what’s up I was born in Washington but I live in Oregon now lived in Utah few years and Arizona
