30 minutes with 10v 11 and he brings Torricelli on when Del Piero was on bench and Ravanelli was warming up since first half. He of course didnt call Baggio up for this tournament. Sacchi is to blame for this failure. Even game but Italy should have gone through looking at it. Ravanelli never came on. instead he subs fullbacks. Ridiculous. Huge missed opportunity. Germany of course went on to win it. Last game of the group.

If It wasn't for bad coaching Italy could won every tournament from 1994 to 2002

Sacchi really messed it up, didn't he ? Throughout his time in charge of italy, he didn't call up some very good players.

@@amrasfour1718 He never forgive him for the missed penalty in the 1994 WC Cup final, even if it was Baggio that truly carried Italy to the final.
He looked for excuses not to pick him in the squad, and that time Baggio maybe was not the best player in the world but still was world class and the best attacking Italian player!

Without Baggio, Italy was weak. Zola was a big disappointment in the national team.

For some brilliant players the national team just doesn't click, every time I think about it I find it quite remarkable he only played for Italy at USA 94 and Euro 96 when he could've been certainty in the national team from about 88-2000.

Italy dominated the match, they were way better than Germany... in General, that italian team was the best in Euros by far.

Strunz, Eilts, Effenberg, Sammer were horrible players, Geman versions of Mark Van Bommel, cynical and dirty and didn't really care if they injured someone, they didn't belong on a football field. I never hated the German team but I could understand why many did.

Italy played much better than Deutschland. I remember this match.
The great problem for the italian team was that their coach Arrigo Sacchi incomprehensibly didn't repeat against Czech Republic the eleven that won 2-1 to Russia at the first game.
Sacchi clearly underestimated the czech team after they lost 2-0 against Deutschland. Probably Sacchi thought that his players were to win without any doubt. So he paid the excesive faith in a team with a lot of changes.
Bejbl scored the 2-1 close to 25 minutes of the match and Italy wasn't able not even to put 2-2, a lot less to win.
So, it was IN SECOND MATCH AGAINST CZECH REPUBLIC when Italy lost all her chance. Nor Sacchi neither nobody (included the own czechs...) could think that Czech Republic would be able to play the great final.
But Sacchi made a ununforgettable mistake doing tests in second match. An error of beginner. You must wait for to do tests till you have got the qualifycation to the round of 16

What the referee did was truly a crime here! It was a red card for the german goalkeeper, it was as clear as it gets!

Вот были жирные годы у Италии, что они могли себе позволить взять и Баджо после 27 не брать!
Щас бы Италия наверное все отдала, чтоб хоть одного игрока уровня Баджо в его 27-30 даже в 35 лет получить😢

SPAIN IS THE BEST OF EUROPE. We won to Italy in groups and besides and over all we were able to win to the host german team and also WON TO THE SHAMEFUL REFEREE TAYLOR that made all the possible and even impossible to the victory of Deutschland.
In semifinal KO to France and in rhe great final we defeated to England. In this way, we took REVENGE of the english victory in quarter finals 28 years ago...exactly in the 1996 European Championship hosted by England. We fell in the penalties after playing a lot of better than the Three Lions.
But another shameful referee, the french Batta, was designed for helping the english team coached by Terry Venables. It was evident that ENGLAND HAD TO WON "HER" EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIP THIRTY 30 YEARS AFTER THE 1966 WORLD CUP also celebrated in England snd of course, also prepared for the host team.
However it is as truly than that World Cup was prepared that England had in 1966 a fantastic team lead between others by Bobby Charlton and Bobby Moore. So, the english team at 1966 was a lot stronger than his fellows at 1996.
I remember the quarter final in 1996 like it was yesterday....all my troubles seemed so far away...
I had 24 years old in 1996. How many memories in my hard🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦🇪🇦 disk...
