I could listen forever 💚☘️🇨🇮🇨🇮 Never saw him personally and never even heard of him until last year. I’m in the USA in Connecticut My grandparents came over in the early 1900’s. I’ve listened to Irish ☘️ music 🎶 all my life. Can’t imagine how I missed him and the Dubliners ☘️☘️☘️💚💚💚🇨🇮🇨🇮
This page is full of sadness and may I be so bold as to sympathise with all of you in your personal loss. You would want to be loveless inside to ignore such losses. May all your deceased rest in peace and may those who have lost a loved one be consoled. Bless you all.
Farewell to Princess landing stage, River Mersey, fare-thee-well I am bound for California A place I know right well So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee I am bound for California By way of stormy Cape Horn I will write to thee a letter, love When I am homeward-bound So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee I have shipped on a Yankee clipper ship Davy Crockett is her name And Burgess is the captain of her And they say that she's a floating hell So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee I have sailed with Burgess once before I think I know him well If a man's a sailor, he will get along If not, then he's sure in hell So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee Farewell to Lower Frederick Street Anson Terrace and Park Lane I am bound away for to leave you And I'll never see you again So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee So fare-thee-well, my own true love When I return, united we will be It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me But my darling, when I think of thee
I like the Beatles songs but my greatest and deepest Love will be the Our Luke Kelly and the Dubliners forever. I think Beatles, comercial songs. They had success because The UK businessmen, british managers put money in their career. So different style of songs. But I prefer " My or Our" Dubliners, without doubt! Sure, always!!! A pint of Guiness for The Dubliners. 😚💖🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪👍☘☘☘☘🥂🍻

Anyone recall when Liverpool was the capital of Ireland?
Ed Byrne said Liverpool loved his joke that they called it John Lennon Airport because that's the first place he went we he got a bit of cash.
Wow didn't know The Dubliners were fans of The Beatles
Farewell to Princess landing stage, River Mersey, fare-thee-well
I am bound for California
A place I know right well
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
I am bound for California
By way of stormy Cape Horn
I will write to thee a letter, love
When I am homeward-bound
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
I have shipped on a Yankee clipper ship
Davy Crockett is her name
And Burgess is the captain of her
And they say that she's a floating hell
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
I have sailed with Burgess once before
I think I know him well
If a man's a sailor, he will get along
If not, then he's sure in hell
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
Farewell to Lower Frederick Street
Anson Terrace and Park Lane
I am bound away for to leave you
And I'll never see you again
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
So fare-thee-well, my own true love
When I return, united we will be
It's not the leaving of Liverpool that grieves me
But my darling, when I think of thee
