      Thank you Fred. It was nice to get out there again. Really strange weather this year. Freezing rain today. Staying indoors today to catch up on some skinning. Take care.

    Thanks for taking us along on your trap line. Hopefully the wolves find their way to your snares.

      Thanks for coming along as well my friend. If the wolves visit the bait sites, I am definitely ready for them. It is supposed to get colder by the end of this week, so hopefully they will be on the move.

    Really good to see you back. Hope you had a nice holiday. Beautiful Marten and that fox had nice color. Fox aren't worth much but they are easy to do up. I got $19 for one last year so that wasn't to bad. I kept 3 of my best fox home.
    You bet it's hard to see tracks. Hardly any snow and what there is, is hard and crunchy.
    Thanks for the update Brother! You folks take care.

      Good evening Brother. As nice as it is to go someplace for a holiday, it is always nice to get back home. That fox was darker than most of the ones I encounter here. Nice prime fur on him. Went out again today and ended up with only 1 coyote with shoulder lice. I hope we get a little snow to see what's happening out there. Take care Brother and be safe out there.

      Thanks Chad. Yes it is good bear country for sure out here. There are a few outfitters with stands near the places I trap and snare in.

      Thanks a lot Brother. I always say, if you got the equipment put it out. Can't catch anything hanging in the shed. Wish I could use free hanging snares but I'm an open area trapper and can only use Wolfmaster Rams. Keep safe out there.

      Yes it's always a love/hate relationship with those birds. They bring in the coyotes/wolves to the bait but can be very problematic when they start picking at something. Thanks for coming along with me. Take care.

    To bad the birds ruined that coyote! Was a beautiful fox and ermine and marten! Thank you for sharing brother! Good luck with everything!

    • @trapperfurever
      @trapperfurever  9 месяцев назад

      Yes the birds are both needed and unwanted at the same time. They bring in a lot of canines to the bait but can rip apart the catches in a hurry. Thanks for taking the time to watch and all the best to you as well.

    It seems like you put marten sets a fair way off trail. Is that strategic?

    • @trapperfurever
      @trapperfurever  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hi there. I am an open area trapper who traps on my own land and crown land. I do not have a lot of traffic on the trails I use, but I tend to set off the trail when I am trapping on crown land. Thanks for watching.
