- I made this rust-proof bike trailer for a local homeless guy and it lasted 6 months of intense use and abuse. Although the bucket and wheels needed to be replaced the trailer frame was still good to go!
Excellent design and affordable. I am thinking about making a bike camper. Thanks for sharing 😀
I work with a lot of pvc & plastics . If you have a metal bench vice it will give you more clamping power on the quick
That's awesome! I have a whole bunch of 1 and 2" pvc pipe at home, I'll have to try this when I get home again! Thanks for sharing this!
Cool trailer. I think I'd put some 3M Material spoke reflectors on the wheels, so that cars would see it better at night.
And paint them so they don't rust further?
Good video
Great design Thank you for sharing 👍🏽😎
This a neat design. Is a Guerilla Cart available over there? Is it too expensive?
I have also done that and it works great. A little bungee cord to attach the handle to the rear axle assembly under the basket works great.
I wonder how long it would have lasted if you had kept it?
It's still going.
The homeless were I live will steal you blind.
Sadly, many of them have little choice. In this case I made it for a guy I knew, he has since passed away and the trailer is still around.
Wow. Did he crash it, or did it get hit by a car? Puzzling over how the wheel got bent like that. Also was wondering how the melted flat spots you did for the wheels held up? This looks like something I might try to throw together.
He got hit by a car. It sent the trailer flying and bent the wheels... frame was fine. The areas we flattened for the wheels have held up fantastically.
Cool trailer need plastic wheels to stop rust n theres nothing stopping you , onwards and upwards forever , easy to modify easy to repair too, im prposing to make the bed of trailer 5-6’ long to carry airguns n cases to range n back. but getting a good supply of 1.5 -2” pvcs a joke atm ?
The 2" Schedule 40 is the way to go. Plenty strong for whatever. Can make an entire bike out of it. If you need the trailer then it is still worth it... it cost me about $100 in materials here on Kauai where it is probably a bit more expensive then where you are at?
What about the poor homeless guy, after his trailer had been hit like that by a car 🚗? Is he ok ? Although it was very kind of you to sort him out 👍
@@xvsupremacy7190 All good, I see him and the trailer several times a week! I told him that it has a "lifetime" warranty on it. The frame is rock solid.
Oh nice, lemme know how it goes. I am actually looking to do the same to transport my airsoft gear on the way to the local field and back. Just gotta figure out the best design to keep them covered and dry.
What type of wheels would you recommend? Im looking on amazon and i must be looking up the wrong key phrases or something. Im looking for ones that can hold a lot of weight. Thank you in advance!
Did you exp3xt anything different other than it trashed or sold for boose, booze,, drugs or something else????
Had no expectations other then that my design was going to get a very good durability test!
