The penny just dropped for me. The BK2 is basically a KA-BAR version of the British Army Jungle Knife. I dont know if this is intentional or accidental, but this is what they have done. The BAJK is a superb tank but it has a few issues, like the worlds worst sheath, and a cross guard that is doomed to fail, and then rattle for the rest of the knife's service life. All this being said, both the BAJK and the BK2 are basically tank-knives. They can be used as knives, trenching tools, hackers, choppers, or be used to batton through wood if you forgot to take your hatchet. I would however say this..... The BAJK was a squad tool. You might have ONE in the vehicle, and individual soldiers where not expected to carry them because they were too heavy. I love the BK2 but I think the same applies. I think I could come up with a combo of a machete and a knife that combined weigh less than the BK2. The BK2 is a good tool for a group ...

The stock BK2 sheath is a standout vs the other Becker sheaths (😖), at least.
Scratches and dulls the bade
Scratches the thick becker coating? Dulls the blade? So like the edge rides against the kydex?
