My all time favorite author, over Howard and lovecraft. No one is so abstract and metaphysical yet so filled with wonder and originality. His rejection of psychological realism in favor of his own high metaphysical fantasies made him great. Good schnitzel

Him he visited, living with him and sharing his studies for seven years, till horror overtook them one midnight in an unknown and archaic graveyard, and only one emerged where two had entered."

@@guaporeturns9472 By the time we got to 'big kids school' a couple of us were au fait with BASIC and could point out typo's in the first textbooks made for teachers to teach students.
I remember 3 of us folding our arms saying "...aint gonna work" after the teacher writing out word for word what the textbook exercise contained. The rest of the kids dutifully went to their computers and ran into syntax errors. A simple misprint in the textbook, but the teacher knew no better.
We 3 were reprimanded for our 'insolence', but all the tutors were sent on training courses. They weren't happy about that 🤣

There is a story by Algernon Blackwood(I'm 80% sure about that) in which the MC is experimenting with some hash. While high, he is "seen" by something otherworldly and it haunts him. The context of the story is that he has called his friend over and is telling them about his journey into madness. Good story. Now I can't say that the hash of the 30's is any better or worse than the button burning in my bowl presently but I don't think I've been "seen". My experiments continue. Lol. I have honestly never heard or read anything like this before. The experience for me is serendipitous, as I have been outlining a sci-fi story set in a star system within which flora are the dominant forms of sentience. This is much different than that but it reminds me to get busy! Vorpal is a word from Through the Looking Glass isn't it? mimsy Borogoves and such? This story has a very strange atmosphere about it almost like an altered state of human consciousness. God I'm rambling sorry
