Happy I found your channel, I’ve gotten so away from Apples tech and I finally got fed up tonight at the gym with this new iOS 17.5.1 - currently looking for a video on how to downgrade my iOS back to 15. Do you have a video on this?
Would be interesting to see an iOS rundown like this for features and designs that only lasted for _one_ iOS version. For example, there's the favorite/recent contacts in the App Switcher that was only on iOS 8, and lots of funky visual elements like the color-matching status bar, paper shredder animation in Passbook, and gooey refresh animation in Mail on iOS 6.
A trip down memory lane! This brings back so many memories for me. I love it Would absolutely love to eventually see an "Evolution of iPad" video that is specific to the iPad lineup, sometime down the pipeline as well.
He was wrong with Siri, it was first released with iPhone 4s and iOS 5 you could also have battery percentage pre iOS 7. I think it actually came in 3 or 4.
I wish you would've talked about the slow-downs that iOS 9.3.5 caused on a lot of older devices, and also the 32bit game purge of iOS 10. Otherwise, it's quite informative video on just the OSes alone, good job man!
Most people see iOS 7 as the best, but that was more of big UI improvements and a new look (one I have never loved- too flat). There was a lot of great features added over the years: Notification Center, Siri, control center, copy text from pictures, etc.. but nothing will ever compare to iOS 4. That was the only time in my life the software itself had made me truly excited. We went from a black screen to wallpapers! And multitasking! And folders! And even Airplay. We even still had the neater iPod app, google maps (before the Apple Maps fiasco) and the best RUclips app of all time (no ads)! They gave us everything that year. Good times
Terific video Brandon!! You’ve said everything perfectly!! However, Siri was actually released on iOS 5. But still, great history of iOS video!!🔥🔥 Continue making informative content because it is really valuable and spot on. I 100% enjoy your videos!! I would love to see you do a history of iPhone video one day! Keep it up Brandon, you’re the man!!
Whats ironic to me is that everytime people say apple would never do something, they end up doing it. People said we’d never get dark mode, but iOS 13 brought that. People said we would never get Home Screen widgets, but then iOS 14 came and we got those. Same with the App Library, which is basically just an app drawer. Now I’m just hoping to get more customization options with future updates like custom Home Screen icons.
Awesome video Brandon, nice seeing all these iOS updates,it’s shocking how much apple has developed in just 15 years.I love your content Brandon and how unique your videos can be!!!!🔥🔥🔥.However apple definitely needs to go back a bit and focus more on software as,before every software was so much better but now its not really apple main focus.
My ipod touch is stuck at ios 12 and it means nostalgia for me. I havent used it since the few months before i got my iphone 12 mini. I got the ipod touch in 2017. But the battery sucked and i got irritated of having to charge it every 30 mins
What iPod touch model do you have and plug in your pc and sign in to iCloud and load the software update screen and turn automatically downloaded iOS updates or download the os from your pc to force it to update and don’t unplug it until you unlock it
good times when there was no battery health percentage where you could just use your phone without stressing everyday about your battery, i also miss the small circle icon of cellular network status
He forgot in iOS 14 or iPadOS 14, you were able to just press down on the screen to make your apps jiggle (instead of pressing down on the home button) And in iOS 15, Live Text, Offline Siri, Look Up Photos
Which iOS version is your all-time favorite?
5 6 8 or 9
iOS 7
14 brought widgets to the Home Screen which I had been waiting for
iOS 8.4.1 The most stable version for me
15
Great video man, keep it up!
Thanks man
Wow,it’s simple alpaca, that’s interesting🙂.I just watched your other video.
@@BrandonButch could you review the iPhone 12 mini again, see how it holds up One year later. I feel like the phone didn’t get much appreciation.
This was exactly what i been waiting for keep up the good work Brandon!
yes interesting and a bit fun
Great video Brandon. It would be interesting to do a evolution video together with Android OS year after year.
You could move icons around in iOS 1.1.4 I think, it was after the update that added more apps to the iPod touch.
HOW is this video getting such low views!??? WAAAY underrated work, thanks so much for sharing this! This is super cool
Hey Brandon so you think 💭 that iOS 15.3 will have better features than iOS 15s
You are the king of iOS!!!🔥

The OG App Store and RUclips icons are so nostalgic to me
Yeah
I’ve been an iPhone user since the 4 with iOS 6 and forgot all of these features that I am enjoying now weren’t actually present wayback then
Hey Brandon when are they gonna fix the notifications for RUclips on the iPhone where we get no sound when we receive a notification the Lock Screen?
A trip down memory lane!
This brings back so many memories for me. I love it
Would absolutely love to eventually see an "Evolution of iPad" video that is specific to the iPad lineup, sometime down the pipeline as well.
Thanks! I'll work on that next!
Please do this for the iPadOS as well.
Very detailed video thanks
Amazing, great job 👏🏼
You forgot to mention the new Home Screen widgets page and new control center for iOS 10
He was wrong with Siri, it was first released with iPhone 4s and iOS 5 you could also have battery percentage pre iOS 7. I think it actually came in 3 or 4.
Notification gang likes historical reflection
9:34 Battery percentage was always there. You just had to turn it on manually.
Wow! Back down memory lane 🙌🏼🙌🏼 I got started on Apple in 2009 iPhone OS 3.

You’re cinematography and editing could use work but otherwise amazing video
Damnnnnn! I remember in college my boyfriend and I would take off from school and work to watch the keynotes when they were good
Something you missed in ios 13 was that it introduced apple arcade. Its basically xbox game pass but on your phone
So much memories
I’ve used all iOS versions starting iOS 2. I had an iPod touch, then I got iPad and now I’m an iPhone user. This brought many memories.

Yes and Siri wasn’t specific to the iOS, but iPhone 4S and up!
The iOS version doesn’t matter. It launched on the 4S 😉
Great video, but gotta let you know Siri was released With iOS 5 not iOS 6 6:17
Wonder what iOS 16 and beyond will bring?

Siri was introduced with iPhone 4S, which at launch ran on ios 5
14:06 Cursed Apple Music notification on the right
iOS 9 because of when I used my iPhone 4S which was my first iPhone
