The riff at 0:59 is one of the best riffs ever written in history.. hands down
Tesseract has the most unique modern metal tones ever!
They're so... glossy sounding? Like a big sheet of metal being slammed into still water, it's hard to describe but I love it so much
@@Ryan-ke3qd I totally understand what u mean
A lot of the guitar sound also comes from the bass...its amazing
That verse riff is rhythmic mastery
That intro doe
Finally an answer to the age old question: "is mayones an instrument?"
Liam Tahaney savageeee
this is just the best...ou my god...i am 34 years old now. the first time i heard that linei smashed myselfat the wall from laughing and now i find it here^^ made my day
3:37 most badass riff. Something about it when it gets simplified from the preceding ones, just groovier and heavier.
What I love about their style especially shown in this song is that theyll have heavy rhythmic riffs and grooves but balance it with very smooth melodic vocals and nice melodies
on the Neck Pick-up for most of the song !!!! WOW
that makes a lot of sense , was a bit confused when i saw him switching to bridge but sounded more muddy
This is wrong. The switch is not inverted. He does play most of the song using the coil tapped neck pickup. I also read on his facebook that a lot of Polaris is played like that. If you watch the Messenger playthrough at 2:21 (watch?v=xtH_vJUWHaU&t=2m21s), he shows how the switch works on his guitar which is Bridge position = Bridge pickup and Neck position = coil tapped neck pickup.
Maybe that's why tesseract's sound is so unique
He also has a piezo system and I don't think that the guitar includes coil taps, correct me if I'm wrong. But the piezo saddles would explain the tone.
EDIT: yea the neck pickup has coil split
One of the guitarists that really shocks me with his tone. Easily my favorite live band right now next to the current incarnation of King Crimson.
Man, that Mayones is gorgeous. Great playing Acle. Love the tones and the style :D
That is such a beautiful guitar.
tight af, what a song
beans. Dystopia, tesseract
Description error, it says "Messenger Playthrough", this is Dystopia. Great video, keep'em coming!!
I love John Browne, but Acle's right hand is just as relentless in terms of technique and dynamics imo. Guess you can only expect good technique from guys who played in Fellsilent...
love that guitar
dat tone!
Acle in it's best.
I HAVE to know how that guitar sound works. Its so strange! Also, 0:59 that wrist movement is almost unreal!
Rly, that makes sense. Thanks
Holy crap it's seriously fast!!
That tone is so strange but I love how the black hawks sound :)
coil tapped neck pup, very unique sound.
Mika Tarkela if these pickups weren't 300$ for a set of two I'd definitely buy them!
@@down7unedpc740 coil split*
Интро заставляет меня вновь и вновь заходить на канал mayones! Стоило бы записать полную версию!)
damn that intro riff to the video was sick
What an intro!!!
The guitar looks sick, but can we have a moment to appreciate the even sicker tones???...
Wow this song reminds me to Tool
That split tone right here. that's earporn
tight!
Acle Kahney Master
Fucking love this song!
finally they redid the intro
ever since Polaris came out I have been using my neck pu in writing , just to try to emulate that tone...
I need a setius neck thru
I love this song... In this playthrough I can hear better The guitar tone which is amazing!... Does anybody know The effects to match This Sound
he sells the axe-fx tones used in polaris on his website if you own a axe fx or ax8 (Link in description)
Boss metalzone into line 6 spider.
The main heft of the sound is due to the coil split neck pickup (especially on the Blackhawk pickups by bareknuckle used here which are very high in treble/hi-mid content as is). Signal chain is most likely Some heavy compression, tube screamer type OD, and a heavy gate. Like felix said, a lot of it is thanks to the axe-fx they use so if you have access to one, get the tone packs
@@liamphillips2918 oh wow really? Crazy cause I'd have thought with how consistent the pick attack is, a compressor would be in there. Though tbh since Acle uses a really thin, flexible pick and has a monstrous right hand attack, it would act as its own compression anyway (since the pick would only really be able to attack the string to a certain point).
But yeah, I remember him explaining on the website that he has quite particular EQ settings for the bridge pickup and neck single coil rhythm tones. I suppose with how massive every album has sounded, you'd kind of have to be particular about the EQing
Tarkenton the main part of the beefy sound is because of the selected pickup spot and his coil split
What the heck is that intro music?! Sounds great.
I scrolled through the comments hoping someone would know, but alas...
Same. I'm thinking either it's just original composed music specifically for Mayones intro and therefore not an actual song, OR *fingers crossed* maybe it is a yet unreleased song from an upcoming album by someone and the details aren't available yet and Mayones can't comment...
It's made by Mick Gordon. Only a clip for Mayones, no song.
off topic, but it kinda sounds like the band Abstracts from Japan
What's that intro song???
INTRO SONG? :D
price???
Who does better with op n chords than Opeth?
The Intro music is amazing, which song is it, if it is, Anyone?
Mayones Exclusive
Anyone know the Tuning ?!
The tone tho @.@
anyone know what size strings he's playing with??? godly tone
Dadario 10-59 Nickel wound (EXL110-7)
eugenefin thank you for the reply!!!
where did you get that? clearly 59 is not enough for this tuning.
why should 59 on a 27" scale guitar not be enough for Ab/A/A#??
kimseniorb agreed. I use a 72 for Drop A on a Gibson, so I believe a 68 should be the right string for this tuning
is Mayones an instrument?
It... it is... apparently... Patrick
My favourite part 3:10
djent djent.... djent djent... djent djent
fucking christ the tone
Really surprised to see that he was on 5th and 1st position for the whole song, I would have put money on it that it was all done on a split coil, 2nd/4th position.
Made in poland!
0:58
0:39
looks like he had short hair for a sec
Suits him
Awesome track anyway
Its because he is holding a guitar, soundwise this could've been an awesome bass demo otherwise
Tuning?
Gods Reclamation AEADEAD, it's like DADGAD but on 7 strings. Not kidding
Bar Goldstein that’s a weird tuning haha
@@godsreclamation2539 Indeed, but it offers up a lot in terms of fresh songwriting. Monuments and Fellsilent use/used this tuning as well (Fellsilent included both Acle from Tesseract and John From Monuments).
Tarkenton they are both my fav guitarists. I practice and use downpicking a lot. I really would like those BKP blackhawks tho
that guitar is badarse!
