  • Hey everyone, below is the links to purchase this stuff. So recently I got into some poison ivy, or oak. Maybe even sumac i dont know. I never get this stuff ever. This time it was bad I had it all over. The itching , whelps, and bumps, I tried the typical calamine lotion, IVAREST stuff from walmart, I even tried bleach (Don't do it). None of that worked. SO I looked around the house and seen the fast orange hand cleaner. Its made to take grease oil and grimy things off your skin anyway So I thought what the hey lets try it. I applied it and rubbed it in let it sit for a minute or 2 and then rinsed off the fast orange. Within 10 minutes I noticed the itching went away and within and hour or 2 the redness and bumps were lessening. I applied it for about 4 days and it completely cleared up. I had the stuff bad, but my wife had it to. Must have gave her a great big hug lol anyway, she tried the typical stuff none of which helped. I told her about the Fast Orange hand cleaner and she tried it. Hers went away faster then mine. She didnt have it as bad as me though.
    Anyway I hope this video helps you guys. If it did be sure to subscribe.
    Also comment below let me know what you think about it.

    Yep, Fast Orange with pumice works. Since I switched to using that stuff, the rash and bumps and itch are going away pretty quickly. The good thing about it is that it has all of the stuff needed to get the urushiol off your skin such as grease cutters and pumice which also helps to exfoliate to get the embedded oil off. And, it's inexpensive. I bought a small bottle which is plenty for less than $3 and a gallon of it for around $10. I probably won't need any more than the small bottle. Try pricing Tecnu or Zanfel cream. It's like $20-$30 for a little bit of stuff. Thanks for your video.

    Yep, started using it when I got it from a fishing spot. Use Fast orange to wash the area and then put toothpaste on it. Has to be the paste, not the gel. Colgate charcoal toothpaste works best because the charcoal helps absorb it. Plus the mint in it helps with the itch by cooling it off.
    Hope this helps! Happy adventures peeps!

    Hey everyone, I’m here to say that it works for sure but for me, I was in my laundry for 4 hrs literally all night. So when you put the soap on, like he said it has to sting you have to rub it in hard. After it stings wash off the soap and the oils should start coming out you’ll see them. Immediately wash the oils off. I washed my arms with the soap like around 40-60 times like I said all night. But it works

      Next time, rub with dish soap and scrub in the dish soap with a towel, then rinse. You just need to get the oil out of your skin to stop the itch. You can also use any kind of Exfoliating Wash. Wash every 6-8 hours. The grit in the fast orange just helps take out the oil a little better, you can use a rough side of a sponge or a towel to rub in the soap if you dont have fast orange or exfoliating wash.

    Ill have to try this one, but another good one to use and safer is a 50/50 mixture of Neosporin and Cortizone cream. That will help with the itching and speed up healing. Also help with psoriasis if you put it on about twice a day. Doesn’t cure it, but makes the itching and scabbing nastiness go away and really calm it down to a point where you almost forget you have it.

Scrubbing with Dawn and an abrasive hand cleaner IMMEDIATELY after contact is the best remedy but I'm rarely in a place to do so. As for this soap, each person is different in what takes their itching away and what is best for them in relieving the itching. This is a great product because it has that grittiness to really get off more stubborn oils and clean off dead skin. But again if you have poison ivy itching try different things, each person reacts different. Me, when i get poison ivy i really don't itch very much and a cold shower will keep it away. I also lol have tried bleach on very bad cases on my hands before, you try ANYTHING when the itching gets too bad. Like most soaps, etc you want to try and get off as much of the plant oil as possible so it doesn't spread to other parts of your body as soon as possible. Tecnu for those that don't know is a product that has a chemical in it that helps put a barrier between the urushiol molecules and the proteins in your skin that it binds to, great to use while your working, after your working let it just stay on your hands/arms and wash off later soon after real good to help remove the oils. Don't skimp on the Tecnu poison ivy scrub, it is the only product that was researched to prevent binding of urushiol molecules to your skin so its great to use while your working to keep the oil from affecting you, but there are cheaper methods to just scrub oil and excess stuff off skin, such as Fast Orange, good soap and degreasers, and so on.

Rinsed, and it seemed to help, so I covered and scrubbed everywhere else I was broken out. Marked difference. Plan to scrub down again here in a bit. Mine was a pretty established outbreak that is pretty tame compared to some people - more like a rash - but itchy and bothersome. Slept like a charm last night.
    I will definitely use Fast Orange for my immediate/first wash next time I am in the woods because it grabs oil and provides friction - which are key to removing the urishiol from your skin before it breaks out. I usually use water and paper towels on areas I suspect might have been exposed at the truck as soon as I get back from a hike, and that typically works, but I got poison ivy through my shirt around my stomach this time, didn't wipe down there because i thought my shirt was a barrier. It wasn't.

    You can't spread it once you are broke out but you can right after you get into it, it's the oil that spreads from the leaf

    • @alanconnors8881
      @alanconnors8881 24 дня назад

      Correct! The oozing blisters DO NOT spread it. It's just the initial oil from the plant which causes the reaction.

    Hey man, thank you so much for this. Can you clarify? How long do I rub it on and keep it on before I rinse it off in a shower?

    • @eolsunder
      @eolsunder 2 года назад +1

      Just like any other soaps and cleaners. If its right after working outside scrub and clean multiple times, you want to try and get any oil that might be on your skin off. Since you can't see the oil you want to clean and scrub everywhere, especially exposed areas (hands, arms, ankles, waist, neck, etc). If this is long after you have a rash/itches then I would do 2 things. First do a good scrubbing and cleaning to get any dead skin off, but don't do it hard enough if you have blisters etc to break them and make a mess. Then what i would do is apply a 2nd washing and just let it stay on for a while, 5-10 minutes to see if the soap/chemicals in the Fast orange help with your itching. Each person is different and react to different chemicals and cleaners different. What works for one person might not work for another. Simple logic, if using such and such doesn't help with your itching then of course keep trying to see if you can find a product that does help. For me, all those lotions, scrubs, etc don't help at all and a simple cold shower does it for me. For others, Fast Orange or any number of other products might work. Try them and see. Most of them aren't expensive.

    If you are highly allergic to this stuff don’t apply aggressively like he said! I did according to his instructions and it spread all over my body when I just had a few spots to begin with. I believe it’s still a good remedy just be delicate with your application of it

    Here's an update on my poison ivy itch. Last year I purchased some Tecnu Outdoor Skin Cleanser to remove urushiol oil from the skin, but I never used it. My skin keeps itching with this poison ivy and the fast Orange helped, but this Tecnu stopped the itch immediately. Hopefully the effects last a while before needing reapplication. Now, it's the next day after using Tecnu and still no itch. I slept all night without itching. This stuff needs to be applied on dry skin no water, rub in two minutes and rinse off. You can leave it on if you're without way somewhere, but rinse when you're able to. If you start feeling an itch, reapply. I did a second application when I started itching again and it did the trick.

    • @eolsunder
      @eolsunder 2 года назад

      each person reacts different. Any cleaner can remove oil from the skin if you do a good cleaning right after exposure within a few hours. NOTHING removes Urushiol once it has bonded to your skins protein molecules. The only difference between Tecnu and other cleaners is that Tecnu has chemicals in it that were invented to actually put a barrier between the Urushiol molecules and your skin to keep the Oil from affecting you as easy. Its great to use while your working to keep the Urushiol from affecting you easy, but after you are already infected its just a regular cleaner like many others. Urushiol is a tattoo. Once its bonded to your skin you can't remove it, spread it, neutralize it. Only time will do that. You can speed up the body breaking down the molecules with steroids and other stuff with doctors, but NOTHING removes bonded Urushiol, it's an inert molecule. You can't just wipe off or neutralize a tattoo, same with Urushiol.

      The oil from the plant is actually a grease. Imagine clear axle grease on you. Just rubbing a little soap will not get it off. The grit in the Orange soap cuts thru the grease. IT WORKS. Plain soap is just not tough enough. Also you have about 6-8 hrs after touching poison ivy before you begin to react SO use this soap after you work out clearing brush or know you came in contact with Poison ivy. I have not had a bad rash since I found this stuff and that was about 5 yrs ago. Before I learned about the GREASE that is sticking to me, I had it all the time.

    • @eolsunder
      @eolsunder 2 года назад +1

      @@damesaphira9790 yep think of it like Tar. It's an oil that is VERY hard to get off your skin even with hard scrubbing. So always try and get as much off right after exposure. If you think you've gotten it off, scrub for 10 more minutes and rethink .

    After you wash and rinse, douse it in rubbing alcohol. It’ll hurt like a sum bitch but the alcohol will dry the oil out AND disinfect it. I will be using this method, I’ll come back and leave a review.
