Oh something i can answer!! Foundations in the 40s-60s was closer to what we would consider stage makeup, very thick and didnt set on its own so it needed lots of powder all over to keep it in place. Id imagine before its set it was still quite greasy, unlike modern foundations that are made to set on its own hence why she could blott some off but yours just dried Also! Lipsticks were different as well, they were made to be put on then blotted off and itd leave behind a bit of color that wouldnt ever budge and looked more natural, although i think by the 60s lipsticks had already changed from that type of formula its cool to think that blotting lipsticks kind of stayed around This is really cool to see cause if you look at makeup videos from like the 40s-50s theyre really caking on the foundation and powder and eyeliner, the way in this vid theyre emphasizing a more soft and natural look really reminds me of the transition from 2016-now with the emphasis on soft very girly makeup vs insta babes
LOL THE RANDOM PANNING TO THE DINOSAUR AT THE END I CANTTT But girl also the white eyeshadow thing was on the “smaller eye” look and the “larger eye” look. :3 Anyways, love the 60s barbie look
10:20 i thought she was alluding to the fact that dogs (particularly german shephards) were used in vietnam and then we largely abandoned them there, but i think she means that the dog has definitely passed on by now. Hopefully he passed on with this woman by his side, and hopefully she still has his bobblehead figurine in her possession
