So you're totally right, this is just a detail in So I Danced. Thanks for clearing that up :D Actually the colorful part isnt totally right in this then either. Somehow its kinda hard to actually explain who is who but you get a feeling for it when you watch the MVs a few times? If you know what i mean haha

Mito and Mr Insanity aren't just characters that he created. They're real people that have a mind of their own (called "alters", short for alternate state of consciousness) and that he coexists with. In DID there's more than one person living in the same body with different memories, voice tone, body language etc. DID stems from severe and/or repeated early childhood trauma (typically before 6 years old) and the child fragments the mind so the "new person" can deal with the trauma and not the child otherwise it would be unbearable. That way the child's mind can't fully integrate into one whole identity and instead it becomes multiple. Someone with DID only knows this mechanism to cope with trauma: to disassociate and become someone else. So they unconsciously switch between identities as they are exposed to stress and also more identities can be formed throughout their lives. What Ian calls "The Other Side" is actually his consciousness, that's why it's the place where Mr Insanity and Mito exist. Mito actually isn't the embodiment of depression/low mood swings. He's Ian's "protector alter" since he was created by the mind to deal with any trauma and to be the one who remembers them so Ian can forget it. He was Mr. insanity's First creation, but he got jealous and become an archangel that wants to destroy Mr. Insanity's creations. But at the same time Ian has called Mito his protector. When Mr. insanity is getting too crazy, he stops him. The world in his universe is named The Other Side. It's kinda like a dream land, but the longer you stay there, the crazier you get. You will hear this name in lot of his songs. The city in The Other Side is Emerald City, which is a Wizard of Oz reference. You will see lot of doors in his MVs. He stated that he has memories locked in doors inside him and one of those doors is the one that holds the memory that was the trigger for his Bipolar/DID. Which he doesn't remember. And that's what they are searching for. As I said his universe it's getting bigger and bigger and there are soooo many connections between all his works. 6:30 - Seraph (like Ser-ahf) is the highest order of angels, and in this case represents Mito, the first and most powerful creation of Christian's consciousness. However, he started to become jealous of the other alters that were created (Mr. Insanity for example represents Christian's manic highs), and "rebelled" against the Clown God. The first song is Mito's fall from grace like another famous archangel.

Just so you know, DPR Ian is an incredibly fascinating, incredibly talented, complex and intriguing artist. I absolutely adore everything about him. I'll try really hard to summarize Ian as much as I can but I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest watching his interviews with Zach Sang, JREKML (2 parts) and his incredible in depth interview with a fan called SayWhatReacts. They are definitely MUST WATCH content to truly understand Ian. But I digress... -DPR Ian (pronounced eee-an not eye-an) aka Christian Yu -Korean Australian former kpop artist of the group C-Clown -cofounded DPR (Dream Prefect Regime- an independent, multi-genre music and video group) with DPR LIVE, DPR CREAM, DPR REM (REM left and now they've added DPR ARTIC). Yes we want more, everything he does is amazing. I recommend watching videos in order of release since they connect and follow a storyline. Also, since the beginning he's been great but you can clearly see visual and musical growth in order.

Sephiroth got famous from Final Fantasy, but it's a word meaning "Emanation" like an attribute of God. Seraph/Seraphim meanwhile is "the burning one" (from saraph "to burn", which itself isn't in the Bible). Highest order of angels, protecting God's throne. His name is Christian Yu, or DPR Ian. He used to be in a K-pop group called C-Clown. And later he established DPR (Dream Perfect Regime), a company that is focused on audio/visual content. There are other artists under the DPR name, such as DPR Live, DPR Cream or DPR Artic.
He basically is an all-in-one type of artist. He sings, dances, writes and produces all his music. But also directs and edits all his and DPR music videos. He even directed/edited for other artists like Taeyang, Mino, Bobby or IU.
He suffers from DID (Dissociative Identity disorder) and bipolar, so all his universe is based on them. The story is very deep and it connects his whole discography. There are lines in his first album that are related to characters that we just now met.
Basically there are two main characters, that are based in Ian's alters. Mr. Insanity (you haven't really seen him yet. But keep in mind that is the clown) is the god of this world. He represents the mania and is very extreme. Mito (the one in black and white that names this movie), represents his lows. He was Mr. insanity's First creation, but he got jealous and become an archangel that wants to destroy Mr. Insanity's creations. But at the same time Ian has called Mito his protector. When Mr. insanity is getting too crazy, he stops him.
The world in his universe is named The Other Side. It's kinda like a dream land, but the longer you stay there, the crazier you get. You will hear this name in lot of his songs. The city in The Other Side is Emerald City, which is a Wizard of Oz reference.
You will see lot of doors in his MVs. He stated that he has memories locked in doors inside him and one of those doors is the one that holds the memory that was the trigger for his Bipolar/DID. Which he doesn't remember. And that's what they are searching for.
As I said his universe it's getting bigger and bigger and there are soooo many connections between all his works. He did a Listening Party in Stationhead and an some IG/tiktok Lives where he explained a little bit further the lore. I totally suggest you to check one of them. He's a pretty interesting guy and a very, VERY good story teller, so listening to him is really pleasant.

6:30 - Seraph (like Ser-ahf) is the highest order of angels, and in this case represents Mito, the first and most powerful creation of Christian's consciousness. However, he started to become jealous of the other alters that were created (Mr. Insanity for example represents Christian's manic highs), and "rebelled" against the Clown God. The first song is Mito's fall from grace like another famous archangel.

Just so you know, DPR Ian is an incredibly fascinating, incredibly talented, complex and intriguing artist. I absolutely adore everything about him. I'll try really hard to summarize Ian as much as I can but I HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY suggest watching his interviews with Zach Sang, JREKML (2 parts) and his incredible in depth interview with a fan called SayWhatReacts. Ian remembers nothing when MITO takes over and has to be told everything he did during that time by friends/family. MITO can be seen in Ian's music videos with one white eye, in all black, or in black and white scenes. MITO is also known for his distinctive deep voice and Ian has described him as "like a fallen angel". -Mr. Insanity is what Ian named his personality when he's in his manic high state. Ian considers Mr. Insanity as the "clown god". Mr. Insanity is very colorful, vibrant, silly, and sometimes surrounded by butterflies. Mr. Insanity can be reckless at times so MITO protects Ian from him going too crazy (from my understanding). Ian has said when MITO takes over he has no memory but when Mr. Insanity takes over he can kindof coexist with him and remember things(correct me if I'm wrong fellow DREAMERS). Btw the DPR fandom name is DREAMERS 😊.

Sephiroth got famous from Final Fantasy, but it's a word meaning "Emanation" like an attribute of God. Seraph/Seraphim meanwhile is "the burning one" (from saraph "to burn", which itself isn't in the Bible). Highest order of angels, protecting God's throne.
