- In April 2021, I rode my 2003 Harley-Davidson Road King Classic cross-country, alone for over 2800 miles from Pacific Beach in San Diego, CA to Atlantic Beach in Jacksonville, FL. Day 6 from Beaumont, TX to Mobile, AL features a somber ride through Cameron, LA; a town directly affected by 2 significant hurricanes.
This video features POV motorcycle riding footage from a GoPro Hero 9 Black and GoPro Hero Session plus moto vlog video from iPhone 8 Plus.

Good stuff! I was about to say... you're getting the absolute best luck with the weather I've ever seen. Then you teased the coming rain, lol. Looking forward to the next one.
You got that right! The weather was absolutely perfect... until I got to Florida and learned my rain pants are not waterproof.
Love the series your going through all the places I'd like to travel through
Thank you! I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Great footage!
Thank you very much! and thanks for watching!
love the videos my kind of riding !!!!
Thanks for watching! Cheers
That's the area I grew up in, back in the 50s. Been through a lot of hurricanes. Rode out Katrina and Rita in Lafayette. Moved out for awhile before moving to Baton Rouge... and all the riffraff from New Orleans had taken up camp, traffic was awful, crime was worse, rents were high and insurance unaffordable. Been about ten years since I left, doubt if I will ever go back.
That whole section from Biloxi over to Jacksonville is less than inspirational... albeit, I still love the area or at least the people.
Love this video keep making more
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed
Great ride sir. I'm enjoying this.
Glad you enjoy it!
I'm enjoying this trip, looks like so much fun. Out by New Orleans there is the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway
, the 24 mile long bridge. That was a fun thing to see there because you can't see land on either side while you are in the middle.
Yep. Rode that bridge in 07 before I ever even heard of a GoPro unfortunately.
Two consecutive hurricanes Laura and Delta, one month apart. Then followed by ice storm in February. Less a month ago torrential rain and flooding finished Southwestern Louisiana. That’s what you saw. Total devastation.
Wow, I didn’t know about the ice storm or rain and flooding last month. Thanks for sharing that.
Such destruction. Your video really brought it home for me. Great editing, and good sound, I assume thru a Go Pro?
Thanks for watching. Yes- GoPro Hero 9 Black, iPhone 8 Plus, and a GoPro Session
@@CrunchMoto Thanks so much!
I was born and raised in South Mississippi along the coast and the damage you seen in Louisiana could have been from a few years ago it takes longer in Rual areas to get fixed
6:07 - that plane was flying pretty low, looked like it almost hit the power cables! 😊
It was dusting crops, it looked a lot lower in real life, that’s one downside of the GoPro wide lens.
its crazy how good they are there is one where I live I swear all the time hes gonna hit the pole because he turns right at it there amazing to watch but scare the crap out of you when you're riding on the road when the cains high and fly on top of you that low haha
Not sure which hurricane caused the damage you saw. It could have been any of them. I was living in Houston when Katrina / Rita struck. Katrina did a lot of damage on the coastal waterways of Louisianna
The locals told me, but I forgot. There were two of them that hit this stretch of the gulf directly.
I’m doing my annual Ride for Kids fundraiser from Savanah to San Diego, looks like April was pretty good weather for you. What’s your thoughts April or May?
I had great weather in April, but I don’t really know if that was luck or typical April weather. Good luck on your ride! What’s the fundraiser all about?
Hey! I was on that ferry! Cost a buck!
Really? I rode for free. Must have been my lucky day. Thanks for watching
@@CrunchMoto That whole area is wonderful, but boy, the weather beats the crap out of them. I was shocked at the devistation.
How was your seat throughout the trip?
Loved it. The touring bag doubling as a backrest made it even better
Question? I'm new to your channel. Did you have your bike shipped to San Diego and then fly in?
I shipped it from Charlotte to San Diego.
Welcome to the channel, by the way! It’s new to me too 😁
@crunch moto...I'm looking to take a trip in Mar/Apr next year and was wondering where did you purchase your map.
www.mapshop.com/travel-maps/folding-travel-maps-united-states/ has the best selection and super helpful staff. Good luck on your trip 👍🏼
@@CrunchMoto Thanks for the reply.
@@melvincooper8926 my pleasure! Thanks for watching
Hurricanes.
That's what they do.
Right. I've been through hurricanes in the past, just never any as destructive as what happened in Cameron.
