You can stand beside a base and still be touching it. Furthermore, even if he wasn’t at that angle you can’t tell if he is or isn’t touching it. Neither can the ump so he defaulted to that he is. Damn Pearland Texas repping Texas again? I'm from Pearland. These kids are good. The Pearland team missed getting winning the whole thing a few years ago. Lost in the US championship in a really close game if I recall correctly. And the team they lost to ended up beating the team from Japan if I'm not mistaken. Ton of good athletes come out of the Houston area. So many athletes make it to the pros here, especially the NFL. Too bad crime in the Houston area is getting pretty bad.

It's because he dove into the plate head first. In this league of little league baseball you can't slide/dive into a base head first when advancing. Had he touched with his feet he would have been safe. There is identical prohibition on a runner sliding head-first while advancing (in the Major division and below) in both Little League Softball and Little League Baseball. The runner is out, and the ball remains live [(Rule 7.08(a)(4)]. Runners may dive head-first when returning to a base.
At 9:54 the runner at third base lift his left hand off the base. & the third baseman actually tagged him for the second time, he was out!! but the umpire didn’t want to call it I guess.
Maybe someday this will be a true World Series where the United States won't get a free ride into the final. Easy to do, just start the American playoffs earlier. Every other Country does this and are there in time for the tournament. Makes you think how many less times the USA would have won if they were put into the International pool bracket since the inception of the LLWS.

Catcher made the runner establish his base path 2 separate times. And both times the runner went out of the base path. That is an OUT. I don't know where people are getting this "no base path at home" notion but it doesn't exist. Base path technically doesn't exist until the opposing team tries to tag you. Also awful job by the umpire leaving the bat there. Made the runner and catchers job a lot harder.

However, I think you are making a very big assumption that the area on or above the stairwell is considered "in the field of play." I would say that it is much more likely, given the safety hazards of stairs, that the area on or above the stairwell is considered out of play (Similar to MLB dugouts). The problem with calling interference is (without getting too technical in the wording and, in regard to my earlier analysis); interference is called when, in the umpires judgement, the offense interfered with the defense's ability to make a play on a runner or batter runner. I don't think there is a case to be made that if the coach was not there, the defense had the ability to put out the batter runner. In other words, you should not call interference on a play, if there is no possibility of putting out a runner or batter runner. The Official Baseball Rules puts this more eloquently in its comments on interference.

The volunteer umpire concept is a miserable failure. The play at the plate in the bottom of 3 is interesting. The play deserved a dynamic call. There was no dynamic call or signal that the runner was more than three feet out of his established base path.

I umpire over the summer. Holy crap was the call at 5:40 abysmal - crossed the plate above his chin. I'm 20 and can see when a ball goes over someone's shoulders. Gotta do better

Umpires as a whole lately from Little League all the way to MLB is questionable lately. It’s really sad. Even basics in calling balls and strikes.
Ever since the K-Zone started to appear in MLB games, couch potatoes now think they're all better than the MLB umpires at calling balls and strikes.
