I can definitely see a difference in the mascara. WOW! I’m impressed by the drugstore side. I honestly think you find the best dupes/alternatives I’m always amazed at how similar they are. Some times the dupes are even better!
I feel like those " in the know", know that high priced makeup isn't better and in fact is often lesser quality than drugstore products that are a fraction of their price. I have always loved browsing the drugstore isles and even when I was able to afford high end brands, I still found myself drawn to the drugstore side at Ulta! There is something that just feels more creative and free on the drugstore side. The high end side often would disappoint. It really was the beauty vlogger who got the word out to the masses. Gone are the days when the perception was drugstore was inferior! Now, we can clearly see that many high-end products are far inferior or exactly the same as drugstore, except for the price! It is nice that great makeup is now accessible for every woman, no matter what her paycheck is. I do hope that will continue. I've watched brands like Elf, whose prices were no more than $6, creep up and are now routinely over $10. Brands that are budget friendly will hopefully keep in mind that women in all economic brackets want to look and feel good! A new lipstick is one of those things that can make a difference in my day and I believe everyone should get to have this experience, whether you are making bank or not. It is really good to see there still is some gorgeous makeup that is affordable and nice quality!
Well said! I feel the same way...I can afford high-end but am often disappointed because I can think of a drugstore product that I like even better. It does feel more creative and free browsing the drugstore aisles!
So totally agree!! In my 60's and have seen so many changes in my decades of makeup purchases!! Last time @ major cosmetic chain it was obvious the salesperson was earning a commission for selling the line she reccommended😂. I'm quite happy at CVS 🎉💓
@@kcloveonaleash yes! I'm totally able to sympathize with anyone in sales, but when someone is pushing a product that clearly isn't better AND more expensive, it is off putting. A lot of drugstore makeup can sell itself! Sure, there is marketing that goes into all products, but the product reviews we see on channels like Jen's are what really sell products these days! When it comes to makeup, my purchases are driven by trusted youtube creators. No longer do we really need to rely on a person at a department store counter, although your gal at your local Ulta will usually know what's up as she is most likely watching beauty content on youtube as well! How do I know? I worked for Ulta for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed it! Makeup and beauty is a passion of mine and it was a pleasure to help women over 45 find products that would make them look and feel great!
Wonderful comment!!! It’s a long story but I have recently become interested in watching beauty tubers mostly with the dupe/drugstore influence. When I started watching, I thought Charlotte Tillbury must be the best makeup any woman could wear. Now, I think the products are way over priced and the consumer is paying for pretty packaging and not quality product. I have listened to beauty tubers rave more about the packaging then the product and say they bought it because it was so pretty!!! I would also like to know about Tatcha?? products, are they worth the hype???
Ooooh your hair looks so great curled! Awesome new style! Thank you for trying to find a dupe for the Givenchy blush highlighter, mine just got delivered today so I’m eager to see how it performs for me
Thank you for talking me out of the TF palette. I knew I didn't need it, but TF always draws me in. After watching your comparison, I totally realize I don't need it or really want it anymore!
They always draw me in too, especially as a chocolate lover. But the quality is just so disappointing now and the colors aren't anything to write home about. :/
I love your dupes videos. The Givenchy highlighter is absolutely misleading and way overpriced. It doesn't hardly have any color payoff. It's all about the packaging. I've really been turning away from a lot of luxury products because I am learning the price tag is becoming more about the packaging rather than the quality of the product. I had no idea Coty had loose highlighters. I am definitely going to purchase the Pink Me Up highlighter. So pretty (for cheeks or eyes) and it's incredibly affordable.
Hi Jen; the Maybelline mascara looks better , a lot better. Also the Coty Airspun Highlighter is better than the Givenchy. Thanks for the awesome dupes recommendations.
Maybelline waterproof mascara formulas are always my favorite. They hold the curl in my lashes longer than any other formula I’ve tried. High end or drugstore! The Sky High one is good, but Full n Soft will always have my heart. 🥰😂 I love your dupe videos, Jen. I’ve really tried to cut back on my makeup purchases, and to be more thoughtful of the ones I do make, so I appreciate your sentiment at the beginning of this video. Thanks for all you do! ❤️
I need to try Full & Soft again! It's been many years since I used that one. 🥰 Also I think a lot of us are trying to cut back and I know I felt frustrated because I bought all of these new products from Sephora and spent a lot of money only to realize that they reminded me of drugstore makeup. 🤦🏼♀️ Obviously it's my job so it's not a big deal but I would hate to have you guys waste your money if you don't have to! 🥰❤️
@@JenPhelps definitely give Full n Soft a try sometime. The brush is kind of a traditional brush, but I have hooded eyes and long, straight lashes, and I use an eyelash curler and FnS, and my lashes look awesome! I feel like mascara is a product that really varies from individual to individual, but it works really well for me! 😉
Too Faced tin palettes are consistent: Usually about a dozen shades of toast hues, a pop of some random but somewhat interesting colour, and something safe on the peach or pink spectrum. Sometimes there's no pop of random colour but everything else remains the same: toasted white bread and a mild attempt at cheerful. Tarte is the same. I guess I don't see the point of spending that much on what amounts to nothing more than a very basic palette that can be duped by almost any shadow maker in existence, including ShopMissA for only $1.00.
The ultra foundation looked noticeably fresher and more beautiful on your skin even through the camera. I want to try that one. The lifter gloss is amazing. And the smell reminds me of Mac lipsticks which are my favorite. I have to thank you because several videos ago you recommended a technique and products to apply false lashes . I have tried false lashes several times before and failed but your suggestion totally worked and I asked my husband if he could tell I was wearing them and he said no . Wow ,thank you
Hi Jen!! I LOVE these videos!! It's so helpful because you're so right, many of us get infatuated with the newest releases and don't even realize that we may already have something very similar!! Thank you for working so hard to help us save money and make smarter, more informed choices🤗💖🤗
"I don't think it's one of those highlighters you can see from outer space" cracked me up. When I first wore makeup I bought drugstore because that was all that was available for me. When I got older and had the money, I started buying high end. And at first I could see the difference, but that was mostly because there weren't as many options when it came to drug store, especially with foundation. But now I've come full circle and buy a lot more drugstore than high end. While drugstore products have improved in quality and options, I feel that high end had stayed the same, while continuing to raise their prices. I've gotten to the point where every time something comes out, like the Too Faced palette, I always wait until someone tells me what a good dupe for it is.
I agree that there are so many wonderful palettes (and other makeup too) at the drugstore that it almost seems ridiculous to pay the outrageous prices of some high end versions. I would splurge on something exceptional, but otherwise no way. I do really like the tin packaging over plastic though. I think it's more substantial and classier than plastic. The main thing is that it's recyclable which is so very important. Your hair looks really pretty. The lighter color and waves look great on you. Thanks!!
Awesome video !👍..Smoother gloss for sure,..my hair is always getting stuck if my lip products are sticky then I’m instantly regretting the lip purchase
you look absolutely beautiful. the givenchy highlighter looks soooo beautiful and in a perfect world, i would already be wearing it. lol. thank you so much for searching for a dupe for us. xoxo ♥️🫶🏼🥰
Wonderful dupes... all of them. Loved the Profusion Paradise Palette. I the Ulta Foundation and the Airspun Highlighter look better than the designer option. I really want to try the Sky High Mascara. Looks amazing. Thanks, Jen. Blessings!
The foundation and powder look so nice! I agree with you on the sticky lips thing. Not what I want to feel and no one likes getting their hair caught in lipgloss!
Aw thank you so much! And I hope this new time is better! I always post in the morning on Sundays but the rest of the week RUclips always tells me that most of my subscribers are on in the evening so afternoon is the best time to post. We'll see how this one does! 🥰
Hi Jen, you are the second influencer to review the latest Too Faced palette. I'm so disappointed to hear the quality is lacking. When a brand is purchased by another brand, the concern is sometimes they break a great product. Love the Estee Lauder brand, especially their foundation but was not a fan of their shadows. Look pretty but hard to work with. Thanks again for another great review!!
I am so happy to purchase through your Amazon links!! I am grateful to have found your channel; no one gives such useful information about dupes! Thank you!
Great job Jen. 👏. Gonna skip the too faced chocolate palette. Got the new Sydney grace palettes of California coast anyways. ♥️ and got the coty airspun in pink me up. Thanks. Cannot wait to try it. Be well. Thanks for all your hard work as always. Know you will hit 100K so soon. Well deserved.
Hey Jen! Thank you for finding the COTY Airspun loose powder blush! I'll buy that, just for the nostalgia & memories I have of its big sister, the original powder for the whole face. I wonder if it has the same "old lady" scent? I wouldn't object, just curious. You look great today! Thanks for your energy and diligence, you allow me to be a lazy shopper!
Love your thorough explanations and demonstration of the products. I appreciate all of your time and effort that it would take to create your videos. Thank you 😊!
If you have an access to Catrice cosmetics, try their Better Than Fake Lips volume gloss. I think it has the exact formula you described you like. Bonus, they have a beautiful cool to neutral tone of pink but with a violet undertone (shade number 030). 😊
@@JenPhelps Yup, I forgot to mention that it is not producing cooling nor warming sensation, despite the fact it promises "better than fake lips" in it's name 😉
That is soooooo funny. I was organizing my makeup and found the Coty highlighter and wore it today. It is very pretty. If you mist your brush after you can intensify it, but pretty as is. I like mixing a bit with my lotion and apply it to my arms, decollete, legs... just anywhere you want a little added glow, and I love that it's cool toned... So many highlights are warm toned and have these gold, bronze, amber, champagne... tones... And I don't think they compliment my skin very much.
Hi Jen! I think the Maybelline Sky High gave your lashes more impact. I’ve been meaning to try that one (I hate to get my hopes up, as 99.9% of mascaras, smudge, flake, and/or wear off within a few hours on me, I don’t know what it is, other than my hooded lids). Thanks for another video of great dupes to help us save $$!
I didn't love the Maybelline one at first, but after a few uses it dried out slightly and started giving my lashes better volume and length (I feel like a lot of mascaras are that way and take a few uses to get better)! Most formulas smudge on me but this one doesn't.
@@kimmkenney6809 , thanks, I have only tried one (Lancôme). It helps, but it’s expensive. I only bought the travel size, and save it for special occasions. I should look for reviews on good but affordable lash primers!
Hi Jen this is a little off topic from the video but I had commented before on how I bought Doll 10 hydracream blushes because of your recommendation and I LOVE THEM!! They're so easy to apply and they do fade down a little bit after first application but then this sutble, natural flush of color remains for quite a while! I bought a set of 5 shades and I've been using them so much ever since- and I have a lot of cream blushes!! Thank you for talking about them! ❤💜
Good afternoon love these dupe video’s I have to agree with you the too faced palettes are not as good as they used to be They seem to be very powdery to me I’ve stopped buying them See you in the next one 🌺
OH, YOU, YOU finding these dupes. I'll have to get my sneakers on and run to Ulta again! NOt the Chocolate palette! I have to increase my makeup budget! I'm going grocery shopping at Walmart today and will have to look at the Paradise palette. Yeah, I never stray from L'Oreal mascara. When I do, I regret it. I love my Real Techniques Buffing brush. That BK foundation brush looks the same but bigger. My face is small. Fraction of the cost too. Oh, that Coty loose powder looks intriguing!! Where did you find that?
I'm not surprised Too Faced eyeshadow palette was hit and miss. I haven't bought one since the Pumpkin Pie palette and decided that one would be my last. In my mind., if a drugstore company can do a palette that is exceptional and has a really affordable price point, why would I be interested in spending money on something that is expensive, but of inferior quality? I was tired of buying Too Faced palettes and then finding that at least a few of the shades had really poor performance. To me, this is unacceptable at the Too Faced price point. After using bh cosmetics eyeshadow and buying most of their travel series, I cane to the realization that eyeshadow can be affordable and of excellent quality. Hopefully, bh cosmetics will keep the excellent formula they are known for, if they ever make their comeback, like they have been rumored. Bh Cosmetics could single handedly put every high end eyeshadow brand out of business. It is the best formula I've ever used, right next to the discontinued Milani eyeshadow formula in the 12 pan gold pan!
I completely agree! It's crazy to think that the company that made the BEST affordable eyeshadows could go out of business. I truly hope that Makeup Revolution keeps the exact same factory/formula that BH was using in the past.
I hope BH keeps the same formulas under the Revolution ownership. Their shadows and blushes are better quality than ALL of my Tom Ford, Dior, Chanel, and Clé de Peau palettes, hands down. That's why I've been thinking of getting rid of all of them so I can use that drawer to spread out my BH collection.
Milani was so wrong for discontinuing those gold 12 pan shadows. I have the Soft and Sultry and wish I had picked up the others. It is one of my favorite palettes.
@@samanthahernandez6286 It is by far the BEST neutral toned palette I have ever owned, not only as far as the color selections, but the formula as well! All the shades are just perfect. If someone told me it was a $60 palette, I'd have no doubt! The performance is outstanding and it has a ll the elements I look for in an eyeshadow palette. The matte shadows are smooth and don't emphasize texture. None of the shades have fallout, which is very important as I like to use the deeper shades as a liner. The shimmers apply evenly and don't emphasize texture on aging lids. The colors are pgmented, yet blend easily without becoming muddy. It is incredible quality and I can't believe Milani chose to replace the formula with a far inferior one. The closest formula to this that I have found is the bh cosmetics, but as most of us know this company may have seen its last days. This Milani palette is one of the few I have hit pan on. I will use it until the last bit is gone! I wish I would have gotten a back up, for sure. I will miss this one when I use the last bit up. There is no other neutral color story AND formula in one single palette that can even come close!
Firstly your hair looks beautiful I'm loving everything about it. Definitely was interested in that HG foundation, but I'm a med cool so I'm not going to even try. I've never once returned makeup and idk that I'd start with this one if it didn't work out.
Aw thank you so much! I can't believe the funky shades that the Hourglass foundation has! So far the negative reviews on Sephora are mostly about the shades being way off rather than the formula.
Love your look! Your hair color was a great choice. Another well appreciated video. I agree, TF palettes are inferior to other brands, and as we are becoming more aware, better than “ drugstore” brands. I am so glad you always manage to find dupes for all of us. I feel we are being taken for fools with some of these brands - way over priced. City brought back memories. Will try that highlighter because of the memories! I am also going to try the Ulta foundation you shared with us; sounds like an easy one for a lazy day of not wanting to spend so much time on our make up days. Thanks so much💕
I love your dupes videos! I also really enjoy the lighting of your videos because you show the naturalness or your skin. Most RUclipsrs unfortunately have filters or use such strong lighting that their skin looks perfect. That's not what I want to see on a review. Thank you for being so genuine!
Jen, I am probably the only person on the planet that LOVES sticky glosses. The stickier the better!! Do you know how this Clinique gloss compares with the ColourPop Lux Gloss? I love the Lux glosses, but if there’s a stickier one I need to know! 🙂🥰
You are so close to 100K! Let's find 700 people to put you over the line! ;) Too Faced really needs to update their eyeshadow formula. I feel like they're coasting on holiday sales to people who like the cute packaging and don't know there are better formulas out there. When Profusion and L.A. Girl are right there at Walmart, it's no contest!
Always love your dupe videos! I totally fall into the trap of wanting to "try all the new things!" However, I am very conscientious of my budget and rarely splurge on high end products. One product I'd love to see you dupe is the Saie Sun Melt Bronzer. I'm seeing that in a lot of videos lately, and although I know you get a lot of product for the price, I just can't "proceed to check out" on the Sephora site. (It's both a blessing and curse to not have a Sephora or Ulta within two hours of my house!) Thanks, Jen!
I really wanted to try the new hourglass foundation. I have oily skin so maybe it'll work better on me. I also like the ulta gel crush for non work days. When I'm at work I need my double wear to get me thru my 10 day days.
I’ve never even heard of the Coty Airpspun Highlighter. It’s really nice. Thanks for always doing these. I’ve always bought the Too Faced palette in the tin containers, but I think I may pass on this one. I enjoyed the Cinnamon Swirl and the Gingerbread palettes. I also liked the Born This Way palette, and the small tin packaged holiday palettes but haven’t tried any other palettes.
I really enjoyed your videos I recently found you, I already subscribed of course and watching old dupes videos all the make up I have is drugstore but high and quality, thanks to videos like your 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Hi Jen, love your videos! I love the color pop lip oil in Smirk! I think it beats the high end lip oils and it’s only $9.00 also buy one get one 50% off now at Ulta❤️
Hi Jen, I actually really love both the iconic packaging and the history of the Coty powder and highlighter. François Coty enlisted the designer skills of Leon Bakst in 1914 to develop the powder puff logo. Bakst was the costume designer for the Ballets Russe. On a personal note, I remember seeing the Coty powder on my beloved Nana's vanity table, as I imagine a lot of people have memories of loved ones' having this powder. The Givenchy packaging will come and go, but how many products will still bear a permutation of the original design in a hundred and nine years? Not many, I would imagine! That's iconic! 🙂
Thank you Jen!! These are great 🙌🤗
Also- you look GORGEOUS here.. loving the hair! 💕

Love your thorough explanations and demonstration of the products. I appreciate all of your time and effort that it would take to create your videos. Thank you 😊!
I love those Neutrogena lipglosses!
I would go with the Sky High Mascara, the Ulta foundation, and Coty Airspun loose highlighter💕. Thank you for the awesome video 🥰
Yay dupes! Thanks for doing this.
I appreciate you being here !
If you have an access to Catrice cosmetics, try their Better Than Fake Lips volume gloss. I think it has the exact formula you described you like. Bonus, they have a beautiful cool to neutral tone of pink but with a violet undertone (shade number 030). 😊
That sounds great!!
Definitely going to try that Coty Airspun highlighter, Jen! Keep those dupes coming!!!
Your hair looks so amazing! Chef's kiss! I love the color!
Love the teddy bear 🐻 palette one of my latest favs.
Yes please keep them coming for the dupe video's. And yes I prefer a lipgloss that's not as sticky.
Juuuusssst love love your hair color here and the eye make up gives you that softness and youthfulness.. oh wish I can slay that eye look, too.
Wow, I have to say, all of the dupes are way better than the high-end! Thank you for such a detailed video.
How are you always so right on with your dupes? It’s amazing!!
The dupes are so much better in application and general quality, thanks Jen!
Maybe try a primer to your lashes.
@@kimmkenney6809 , thanks, I have only tried one (Lancôme). It helps, but it’s expensive. I only bought the travel size, and save it for special occasions. I should look for reviews on good but affordable lash primers!
@@JeanieD I really like the L’Oréal lash primer, like 4 tubes like it, I keep going back to it.
I love the hydro boost and lifter glosses both
My favorite gloss formula is the buxom. I don't know which side of the sticky scale it would be. ☺️
Thanks for all your dupes videos. Money is an issue and I really appreciate your honesty & saving money.
Aw I'm so glad you love them! They're one of my favorite formulas too!
Good afternoon love these dupe video’s
I have to agree with you the too faced palettes are not as good as they used to be
They seem to be very powdery to me I’ve stopped buying them
See you in the next one 🌺
Love, Love, Love Neutrogena Hydro Boost Lip Shine --my favorite is is #30 Flushed Coral!
Yes!! Those are such a great formula!
The major love mini is fabulous pigment
I actually forgot I had the Cody Airspun highlighters - I have the gold and the pink - beautiful!!!
Hi Kathleen! The Coty powder was at Walmart! :) I don't know if they have it in all stores, but I got it online and it was delivered in one day.
@@JenPhelps I'll have to order that online. It looks beautiful.
Oooh 100k is coming for you soon! 🤞🏻
Love the Maybelline lip gloss.
You've been busy this week! Thanks for another good one.
The Ulta Complexion Crush foundation has been the only foundation I’ve used for the past 2+ months and I wear makeup 5-6 days a week every week.
Jen, You make THE BEST dip videos! 😍
I love your dupe videos. I also love when you do tutorials with the products.
This hair color is perfect on you!
Love your hair! 💖😊💯
Thanks for sharing Jen hope your week is going well sister !! My next lip gloss will be the maybeline lifter
I’m always happy when I see that there’s a new video from you. :)
We luv it when you compare the higher ends to the more affordable brands especially since everyone’s cost of living has gone up this year.
Jen, I am probably the only person on the planet that LOVES sticky glosses. The stickier the better!! Do you know how this Clinique gloss compares with the ColourPop Lux Gloss? I love the Lux glosses, but if there’s a stickier one I need to know! 🙂🥰
The Clinique is definitely stickier than the Lux glosses in my book! :)
@@JenPhelps Wow!! Then I need it!! 🤗 Thank you for your reply!! 🤗🥰
Your hair looks beautiful! I love it lighter. Really suits you.
Aw thank you Bridget! 🥰
It's off topic, but I'm loving your hair!!!
Aw thank you!!
The Maybelline Sky High mascara definitely gave you bigger lashes!
Thanks so much for these videos. They're very helpful and well done!
I really enjoyed your videos I recently found you, I already subscribed of course and watching old dupes videos all the make up I have is drugstore but high and quality, thanks to videos like your 🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗🤗
Great dupes. Love your hair.
Love love LOVE your dupes! Always very helpful 😊 I have to agree with you on the Sky High mascara. My two favs are Sky High & Loreal Unlimited.
Hi Jen, love your videos! I love the color pop lip oil in Smirk! I think it beats the high end lip oils and it’s only $9.00 also buy one get one 50% off now at Ulta❤️
Those are great! 🥰
I know I say this all the time but seriously I LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!! And OMG you are so close the 100K!!!! WHOOP! WHOOP!😊❤️💄
Hi Jen,
I actually really love both the iconic packaging and the history of the Coty powder and highlighter.
Very true! I stand corrected! 🥰
Another dupe for the loose highlighter might be those Wet n Wild lost highlighters that came out a while back.
