Brandon, I just wanted to say thank you for the content you put out! In this video, does the backup camera come with the install kit with the wires to hook up or did you buy it separately? If so, what wiring kit did you use? Thank you so much!!!
I’m glad the videos have helped you out! And I can’t find the exact one that I had, but this one is very similar, and the backup cameras come with all the wires you need!
Hey man! Could you send me the link or name to the camera you bought on amazon? Bought the same stereo for my 2011 corolla, gonna try installing that bad boi too, but would also like to install that back camera lol

My screen is saying no video signal I would love an explanation on this issue Brandon, I know that the camera must be hooked up to the screen successfully. So my question is where is the mistake in the back end? Would I need to try to resplice the wires in the trunk or what would be the best bet?
That is strange that it says that. First thing I would check would be to make sure you have power at your reverse lights. If you do, then I would make sure the splice from the camera power and lights are connected good. A volt meter will be great to verify those! Then if all that is good, I would double check that your are using the correct wires behind the radio. I actually plan to add a new backup camera to my new corolla soon, so I may go over some of the possible problems that may happen.
@@BrandonStellmach okay thanks Brandon, I will try to check everything and get back to you tomorrow. As for the reverse lights I know they are getting power cause they always light up brightly but I’m questioning my splicing ability cause it is my first time doing so lol! Thanks for the detailed response! And I would really appreciate another video if you could make a second video regarding the back up cam but I understand if it is redundant. Great video Brandon, through your great review, I am installing a Binize Android 10. My backup camera is flickering, too dark, and SWC setting (learning) is not responding. I watched a few videos but have not found the way to correct it. I hope you or someone who reads this message can help. I have a 2010 Toyota Corolla S. Thanks in advance.
For the backup camera, there usually is a way to change the video format, either in the settings, or in the corner when the backup camera pops up. And try different settings until it fixes your problem. As for the steering wheel controls, some radios will work fine, while others require more wiring. So if it’s not working with the SWC setting, then your radio might not have the OEM harness needed for steering wheel controls.
Have you got carbitlink app that came with the head unit to work? Mine can't get pass the unregistered screen. Also, were you able to install a compass app and made it work? Lastly, are you able to put the notification icon on the top in addition to what they had. Like weather temp or even a compass. I have the exactly same head unit you have in the same Corolla.
I actually downloaded the carlink app, which did not come with the Unit. Which gives me Apple CarPlay. And for the compass I have never tried to get it working. Again because when I use Apple Maps. And the temperature would only work if the radio is connected to the internet. I assume if you would want to connect it to a hot spot that would work. But for temperature I just use the cars temperature in the instrument cluster.

One more question, I passed the wire same way you did using the lock hole. However, I am afraid of minor gap in lock hole due to the wire, and water can go in during the rain. Also I realised that we should be good without drilling big hole, just at the bottom make a little space for wire to slide in
I never had any issues with water getting in. You could put a little silicon around the opening to make sure no water get in! As for the hole I agree. You can just cut a slot just wide enough for the wire to fit in!
I’m in the middle of this install. I got the camera mounted like yours. However I’m having issues with splicing into wires. What are those plastic pieces you are using to do that called?
Hi, the camera I bought only has one black wire that connects to the screen, and one red wire which supplies power. Is it the red wire or the black and white that supplies power? In other words, which color is the ground and which color is the power supply?
It’s been awhile since I have done this, but I believe the camera should come with 3 wires coming from it. There should be a yellow video where that just plugs into the other yellow cable that comes from the radio, than there will be a black and a red wire. The black wire goes to the black wire on the reverse light, and the red white goes to the red wire coming from the reverse light. I hope this explains it a little better.
