Weird how the two GBA tracks that so many people wanted ended up being the most disappointing, while the three GBA tracks that almost nobody really asked for ended up being way better in comparison in the remake department Also, Yoshi Desert is now much more well liked than Sunset Wilds in Tour, while in Super Circuit, it was the other way around
Everything Nintendo needed to do with Vancouver Velocity was swapping Lap 1 with Lap 3 and it would be fixed. It's so anticlimactic to go through the Suspension Bridge first and finish on a tunnel and a refular stadium on lap 3
I think Wave 4 being as good as it was it was hard to follow and to me the courses werent anything special apart from the Squeaky Clean Sprint and Moonview Highway being in it at all. All the other courses were either ruined (Sunset Wilds), not too interesting (The tour courses) or were courses i wasnt interested in especially cause they were remade in 7 (Koopa Cape & Daisy Cruiser). I know in the data Daisy Cruiser and i think LA Laps were suppose to be in wave 4 due to their music coding and honestly i think they might have fit better there as a bit of a balance. Also i think moonview highway or at least its spot was going to be in Wave 6 potentially making it so the some of the tracks were not as concrete as much as we thought Its not the worst wave just not as good as the last one and having 3 characters added in one go could of been a little bit to take the attention away
Koopa Cape feels shrunken a little, plus, the water at the end of the track is not nearly as strong as the water in Wii, you can actually get through the water at the end without a mushroom, making the water at the end feel kinda pointless, its supposed to be a mini shortcut for those who have a mushroom in their item slot.
With some polishing and updates, Nintendo could fix sunset wilds, even if meant changing their update engine. The fan lash back can’t be good, so I hope they fix it like they did with the cars in coconut mall
This wave overall was a pretty mixed bag. We got some great courses like Athens and Koopa Cape, but then some disappointments like Sunset Wilds and Vancouver. Not to mention the pleasant surprises of Moonview Highway being made good and Wiggler
Super Circuit was my first Mario Kart game, and out of all the courses, my favorite three were Sky Garden, GBA Rainbow Road, and Sunset Wilds. After playing the Booster Course Pass and seeing what they did to 2/3rds of those tracks, I no longer want a GBA RainbowRoad remake ;w;
Honestly, I think we can all agree on the GBA track, disappointing that the mechanic didn’t return, despite both the original and Tour versions having it! Hopefully, they’ll fix it before Wave 6 releases. Wii Koopa Cape actually turned out to be the best of the 7 retros in terms of Wii tracks returning, it definitely did well with what it worked with, even without the Koopa Zappers, though Moonview Highway definitely impressed me more. Honestly, Wave 5 held up better than Wave 1, I‘ll give it that. Athens Dash (Avenue) was a good start, Daisy Cruiser definitely is fitting for what it worked with, Moonview Highway definitely surprised me, Squeaky Clean Sprint was bound to have me loving it, and definitely a good equal to Yoshi‘s Island, Los Angeles Laps does have some notable issues, but I do still enjoy it regardless, Sunset Wilds SHOULD HAVE included the sunset, or they could have gone with Yoshi Desert, Cheep Cheep Island, heck, Bowser Castle 4, even the 2 circuits wouldn’t have been a terrible choice (Though considering the last wave, it’s unlikely at this point), and hopefully will fix it before the pass is complete, Koopa Cape honestly wasn’t bad, and felt the most decent in a way compared to the other 3 Wii tracks that appeared in 7, and Vancouver Velocity is a decent, but could have been improved upon by switching the first and third laps, or even adding 1R on the final lap. Honestly, it definitely held up better than some previous waves, but could have been improved upon. Brilliant video in the end, so well done! 👍
The music for LA laps is a massive upgrade when the original sounded horrible and made original la laps as my least favorite city track in tour but now it’s top 5.
This video was suprising ive never seen someone with your opinion. Most and i consider athens to be one of if not the best, and moonview highway being the weakest of the cup, although i and many hold it as one of the best. And for the second cup wow that shocked me. Los Angeles laps is considered the worst in the wave by me and from who ive talked to alot others think. While vancouver and koopa cape are considered the best and sunset wilds being pretty above average
I mean, I don't really have much of a preference, as I love most of the tracks available, Los Angeles cause it's a large course, which are my favorite kinds of courses, and Athens cause of the creativity behind the couse layout.
My only complaint they picked one of the worst DS Tracks Over Airship Fortress or any Bowser Castle Track seriously the lack of bowser Castle is surprising & so Many DS & Double Dash Tracks are getting ignored!
I don’t agree with the mindset that Wave 5 was “disappointing” not even close. I’m probably one of the few who thinks it’s one of the BETTER waves of the BCP.
I think is too good the wave 5, having things like wave 4 with 2 overrated tracks (Yes im talking about of dk summit and waluigi stadium) or just bad ones like Bangkok Rush or singapore speedway, wave 5 have retro tracks that i just wanted more like, koopa cape and Daisy cruiser, moonview highway not, now that this track has come out i hate traffic tracks, like, toads turnipike, shroom ridge and moonview highway in the same game? Who asked for that?
I think the feather cup is really great, but the cherry cup is rlly disappointing bc sunset wilds and koopa Cape being pretty mid, but Vancouver and la laps are probably my 2 favourite cities in the game

How the tides have turned, or in this case, how the sand shifts.. erm, however it works
1:31 wiggler's horn sound is the same steam train wail that played when he got hit in mk7, so you can play it youself whenever you get hit
I actually found that out during the production of the video. It’s cute that his horn is the train sound too, so extra bonus points for that
The Good, The Bad, and The Weird
Moonview Highway, Sunset Wilds, and Squeaky Clean Sprint
1:27
Wiggler does have the chugging but the whistle is designated to his horn.
As a fellow stu this videos epic

Kinda sucks that they didn't include clapping in the hockey stadium on Vancouver.

2:10 Why not Athens Astray?

The Shy Guys do seem to be singing to the music (or it is at the very least in time with the music). They speed up their singing on Lap 3.
3:23 - You showed London Loop...
Guess that really shows how samey they all are lol
No, it IS Berlin lol
It is berlin
No it's not. It's Berlin Byways.

Tour had the best version of Sunset Wilds
You still can't forget after all of this time, that daisy cruiser is indeed the best city track
You literally reminded me about that blooper. Might upload it lol

Different enough I suppose, but I still happen to like Squeaky Clean Sprint like a good majority so
I mean, I don't really have much of a preference, as I love most of the tracks available, Los Angeles cause it's a large course, which are my favorite kinds of courses, and Athens cause of the creativity behind the couse layout.

And I can respect that! Glad to know people are enjoying the wave regardless

The only buzzkill in wave 5 is Wiggler
You wanna run that by me again?
