    Great video. I struggle with this only because I have horrible shoulder mobility from old injuries which plays a major factor in this. Makes the Fleetwood style finish difficult; have to bicep curl as you put it sooner or else i have no choice but to chicken wing. Top quality video as always David. Top 3 instructor in my youtube watch list 😀

      Thanks so much John really glad you’re enjoying the content 🙏 yes 100% we have to work around what our body lets us do, that’s super important. Where are you from?

    Thank you!! I struggle with body stalling and flip then chicken wing shows up. I know I do it, but it has been impossible to fix. I will try these drills!

      You’re welcome. Yes it’s such a common thing and I see it a lot. Try the drills, stick at them and remember lots and lots of reps, don’t worry where the ball goes at first just exaggerate the moves. Let me know how it goes 👌

    Great as always David. The 2nd drill is relevant to me for sure. I tend to exit left and put on the brakes, I guess similar to a punch shot finish. Telling my brain what I want is achieve sometimes like getting blood out of a turnip. But will give your drill a go. Cheers.

      Hi Graeme Thanks for the comment, I hope you are keeping well, glad you enjoyed the video, and I definitely think the second drill will help you a lot, although don't completely write off the sawn off finish, as that can be really good for 8 iron to wedges, for controlled flighted shots, as you say, more of a punchy type shot, still keep that in the mix, and add this part to your swing for more options.

    I have a perfect swing without the ball, it's when the ball is in front of me.?

    • @dlgolftips
      @dlgolftips  8 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Robert, thanks for the comment. Yes, 100%, this is a very common issue. A lot of the times this happens because we start to get, whether it's conscious or not, we start to get tied up with the outcome and how we're going to strike the ball. Quite a good way to transfer this is get the practice swing first, and then train the movement with hitting something like an impact bag or even a sponge ball or an airflow ball to try and transfer it across and then progress to hitting golf balls. But don't worry about the outcome when you're working on the technical positions. Hope that helps. Does that make sense?

      Cheers it all makes sense but iv been trying to fix this for year's with lots of coaches and nothing works, must just be me.

    Active intent is not the solution. A chicken wing is caused by a fundamental misunderstanding of how the club works. The chicken wing is an effect of a cause but attempting to fix the effect will not create the cause.

      I agree with you and understand that. If you watched the full video, I did mention that someone would comment. And you're that guy. Whilst the method yours talking about is definitely a way of doing it, I've seem that work great. But this video is about rehearsing the two positions and allowing the golfer to achieve those and reverse engineer how to get there, the same way putting two Ts on the outside of the club to improve strike or freezing at impact and learning that then reverse engineer how to get there and the technique will change without the golfer knowing it. Yes, there's technical things that you can change prior to impact, and I have videos on those also, but this one was about rehearsing where you should be in the follow-through and how the lead arm should work, and I find when I do this with my golfers, it massively improves them.

      @HolyGrailOfGolf 8 месяцев назад

      @@dlgolftips I like the reverse engineering approach but you're not reversing far enough. You're not getting to the fundamental motion which, let's say is farther back in the reverse engineering and not obvious. You gotta keep going back further and further until there is no further to look. I think you're the only other person, other than myself, to talk about reverse engineering the swing.
