Timestamps of the changes: Entry Hall Hub 00:08 - This secret area is now accessible at this stage in the story (some of you may not know, but the original game disabled this secret area because of the cutscene with Ron) 00:22 - A replacement cutscene was added in case the player decides to go down from the secret area at 00:08 Grand Staircase Hub 02:10 - Ron's shadow no longer persists during the cutscene Tom Riddle's Memory 02:57 - The chest now has a sepia texture 03:32 - New sequence added Entry Hall Hub 04:05 - This section of the story takes place at nighttime. Indoor nighttime lighting in action. 04:31 - Basilisk's eye vision has been changed from purple to yellow (thought it made more sense) Grand Staircase Hub 06:05 - Exclusively at this stage, the Library is accessible at night Library Night 06:08 - Nighttime Library. This is a confined version of the daytime map that serves no purpose other than story continuity. No secret areas, and the existing chests and knights are synchronized with the daytime map. Didn't really wanna include it, but here it is. I like the nighttime lighting, though. 07:40 - Hermione and her only bump line that fit the context Entry Hall Hub 10:02 - The fake background shows the nighttime grounds Grounds Night 10:54 - This line was merged to fix an incoherence which exists only in non-English versions. Thus, no difference for the English version.
The addition of the nighttime library map was a nice touch. Though, just to match the HP1 vibes of the map, you could've added the corresponding portcullis textures for the large and small archways. I know the large ones weren't included in the original HP2, but the reference would be very nostalgic-for the Sneak section fan that I am.
Fantastic work overall. I've just been enjoying watching the showcase of differences. So much love and care went into this mod and I'd never imagine I'd see anything like it. The extended cutscenes, attention to detail... I mean, the fact that you can actually find Hermione in this library, a tiny segment of players that would ever think to do so at this point!
QUESTION: I have already downloaded and installed the Windows 10 fix version of this game. If I were to download this mod, would I just have to copy-paste and replace the files of the game like I did when downloading the Windows 10 fix?
No, you first need to install a fresh copy of the game (no patches, cracks, etc.), then install the new M212 Engine/Editor from the link in the video description, and lastly you apply the HP2 Extended Mod files. This mod will not run on the base game alone. You can find step-by-step instructions in the pdf document within the Google Drive.
