I’m working in the street with a few cordless tools, and no carpet extractor. Even the vacuum is the Milwaukee cordless one, there is no way for me to run a carpet extractor in the street 🍻
All I hope is that you at least take it back to the old shop and let the detail dudes go HAM on interior and exterior once you get the new engine in. Can't complain about the current state of the vehicle when you cant do much more to it.
@Mark Tate I have a pearl white 2011 Escalade. I'm pretty sure it's going to need some major work. Can you recommend somewhere in Tucson, Arizona that I can take my car to for an honest quote on what needs to be fixed?
Before you start stripping the seat frame down to get it off the base, I’d investigate if it’s easier to swap the seat covers over, they’re usually just clipped on all around the base and the back rest might come apart once you take the hinge bolts out. Try taking one of the old seats apart first.
What an improvement on the interior. I'm kind-of surprised that you didn't steam clean or use some Tuff Stuff on the carpet under the front seats before installing the new ones though, it sure looked nasty under there. The vacuuming did help a lot though. Good luck on this one, I can't wait to see the next video on it.
Yeah it did bother me too but tbh with these older vehicles as a one man band time really is of the essence. It takes so long to wet vac an interior that size and often smells get worse if you don't get 100% of it all out. It's a tough call. It might be a caddy but it's still a whupped high mileage one at that!
Detailers take the seats out to clean the carpet. JR takes the seat out, says "ew, the carpet is gross" and puts another seat over the top of it so you don't see it. :)
What I love about your channel is things like “I don’t know how we’re gonna compress those springs, but we’re gonna make it work!” I’ve been watching since you went full time and you always keep me engaged.
Donate the old seats to a car shop that does interiors. I was watching a car show on TV, by the Martin Bros. Customs. The Interior Guy took some saved seats in storage, and worked his 'magic' (added more foam & leather) on them!
The show is Iron Resurrection. Joe Martin is a true artist! He started out building custom Choppers and switched to cars when Choppers went out of fashion in the early 2000's
I live this channel and how you constantly post updates to your projects and we actually get to see it finished!! Thank you!!! Keep up the great content.
Word of advice, something cheap and easy to do, replace all of the interior lights with LED lights, they last longer and shine brighter, did this with my ‘09 Escalade :D
@@WatchJRGo if you have a Tech 2, you can command the running boards in and out after soaking them in penetrating oil and they’ll start working again. Also, the clear tube on the passenger seat isn’t for lumbar, it’s for the passenger presence system, has a pad under the entire passenger cushion with a clear gel in it, that goes thru a tube to a pressure switch that looks like a MAP sensor.
Gm did everything right around this generation. 6.2 aluminum block v8 with no afm, decent interiors, good sound system, easy 3rd row. Everything just works.
to say im stunned on how cheap that interior swap was, it would be a understatement. you completely improved that trucks value 10 fold after everything's in and with a good detail
For the steps, open the door and douse the joints with penetrating oil, close the door and give it a little help up. Just keep working and spraying it and they will free up
Here in Australia you never see these, and I was trying to work out just how big they are, because they look huge. Quick google tells me a ‘21 Escalade esv is 5.74 metres long! That’s huge, the bus we’re travelling Australia in is only 7 metres long haha.
I am sitting here, in my seat out of a VW Phaeton that I made into a desk chair, fuming. It took me over a year to find a seat with all the functions I wanted and I paid over a hundred bucks for it. I wish I could get seats as easily where I live. What a deal! The truck keeps getting better and better.
i have a general question i have a smart car like the one you had but it’s a 2015 and the water pump went bad and my fixd scan tool said it overheated to around 257 degrees, but I was idling through a parking lot and shut it off immediately. the shop that replaced the pump said they did not detect exhaust gas in the coolant, do you think it could’ve done significant damage?
You should have hit the carpet with some spray cleaner and a quick vacuum when you had the seats out! Great project. Looking forward to seeing the engine swap
If you want to upgrade the built in Car2U garage door opener to work with modern rolling code doors and gates you can get a Homelink out of an overhead console from a newer or similar Enclave, Outlook, Terrain, or Acadia for ~$30. This, I believe, works for all the GM trucks made up to 2014. I upgraded one in a 2010 ESV to one from a 13-17 Enclave. Two differences I noticed is the plug fits in upside down and the button texture is slightly different. Flawless otherwise.
Love the whole fix the car in the driveway/garage videos. Would love to see you keep some of this now and then even with a new place and house coming 👍
I got a "Capri" torx set off ebay for like 60 bucks. 60 pieces and it has every torx e torx safety torx and others. Highly recommend. Not the greatest but it's worked so far
I remember my dad leased one from another driver for Uber back in the day I believe it was a 2011 short based I loved driving it your making me want to buy one 😂 after watching your videos on it
The clear line you saw was for the passenger presence sensor there won't be one on the driver also the lumbar is done by a cable pulling a a peace of metal and bowing it.
Pretty awesome. I always get excited went I see this amazing truck getting some love. You can always find parts for those Chevrolet, gmc and Cadillac care the same part. Too bad you’re going to removed all over to clean it. Great truck 👍🏼
It’s not even done yet and I’m in love with this Escalade. So far the interior looks amazing…but I’m curious, if you could find great looking stock rims for a great price would you consider swapping out the aftermarket rims? Maybe your Facebook marketplace skills would help with that too lol. 😂
Awesome deal on the interior, I was surprised however that you didn't take some time to clean the carpets prior to putting the seats back in, easy to clean with seats removed and really doesn't take that much time even if your going to resell it.
This is turning around I was wondering if you where gonna get this in to the flip but this is a good way for someone to get something nice for cheap well relatively cheap. Thanks jr
Interesting to see. I have a loaded 2011 Yukon XL with similar components. It’s got 85K and looks new. Would be interesting to see you change out the cracked dash cover.
Was hoping you’d get into the heat and cooling of drivers seat. Common failure in Escalades. My 2009 seat stopped working. A DIY fix would be very helpful.
Well like I said in my second post yesterday if you can do the power upgrade cheap enough on whatever engine you find for it. Would be a lot of good content and some fun for you 👍
Nice one! Did a similar thing with my Jaaaaaaaag. Had slight damage to the rear seat base. Got an entire matching interior off EBay for £100. Replaced rear seat base and put the rest back on EBay. Got my £100 back….Result!
If you keep doing all of that you are going to turn it into a 18k Escalade. After a good detail and new engine. and you fix the power running boards. There are instructions online on taking them apart for a full cleaning then using anti cease and then they work great again.
I've been looking dam for interior for the longest I need black seats I just need to front seats my back and third role is in good condition but keep up the good work
I’m working in the street with a few cordless tools, and no carpet extractor. Even the vacuum is the Milwaukee cordless one, there is no way for me to run a carpet extractor in the street 🍻
Clean freaks are a weird bunch.. don't feed the trolls, JR
Yeah it makes no sense, just buy one of those turtle wax carpet cleaner cans from O’reilly with the little brush attached.
All I hope is that you at least take it back to the old shop and let the detail dudes go HAM on interior and exterior once you get the new engine in. Can't complain about the current state of the vehicle when you cant do much more to it.

@Michael Curley that'd be upsetting but it is what it is.
$400 for a whole interior is a smoking deal -- I hope someone isn't wondering where their interior went.
"yeah bro, I can get you...err have an escalade interior."
I was thinking the same thing. Where I'm from the price screams stolen or got by insurance fraud.
No wonder they wanted to throw in all the other parts you didn’t even want 😂 No evidence no crime!
who cares where it came friim...looks much better
Watch JR buy stolen items on the cheap, for a truck he overpaid for.
Ok, so this became a solid flip, getting those seats that cheap. Thanks for doing these still and not getting in to just crazier and crazier cars.
So true. Once the Lambos start showing up with these guys, I'm pretty much out!
I agree. Back to the save a car cheap flips with excellent cheap fixes. I am ready enjoying this series of WJRG.
Major reason I can’t stand to watch Tarvarish anymore.
Before you start stripping the seat frame down to get it off the base, I’d investigate if it’s easier to swap the seat covers over, they’re usually just clipped on all around the base and the back rest might come apart once you take the hinge bolts out.
Try taking one of the old seats apart first.
I am going to second this. It's got to be easier (and possibly safer) to swap the seat parts than deal with those tensioned pivot springs.
Worth a try for sure.
What an improvement on the interior. I'm kind-of surprised that you didn't steam clean or use some Tuff Stuff on the carpet under the front seats before installing the new ones though, it sure looked nasty under there. Agreed. Installing new seats over that disgusting carpet that evidently smells seems to be a major corner cut

I'm kinda surprised he didn't just set fire to it. I know that would have been my first move. ;-)
I am blown away that you found a complete interior for $400. That’s practically robbery! Great job.
Maybe It really is, who knows 😂
The seller has the whole truck and was parting it out 😂
@@WatchJRGo could have got the motor from it too if it was still there/good
$400 ! You are back on track for a flip. Shampoo that carpet ! (Sorry, OCD from watching too many detailing videos)
Should have pulled the carpet and at least done a car wash clean
You're cheap flip videos are definitely some of your best content. Looking forward to the rest of this series.

The 2nd row seats were likely from a short wheel base Escalade
They very much were judging on the rise, it matches where the wheelbase is on a standard Escalade.
or Tahoe/ yukon
Word of advice, something cheap and easy to do, replace all of the interior lights with LED lights, they last longer and shine brighter, did this with my ‘09 Escalade :D
The Cadillac has had a hard 11 years. Great job on the interior and good to see Jake in your video.
For the power steps pull the fuse and wait a couple of minutes. It will reset the system. Also make sure battery voltage is good.
Spray some penetrating oil on the running board hinges when they try to go up push them up they usually come back around after a few times
I'm going to start by pressure washing them, hopefully I can push the dirt out 😬
@@WatchJRGo if you have a Tech 2, you can command the running boards in and out after soaking them in penetrating oil and they’ll start working again. These cheap 'average joe' cars that are attainable to me, are by far my favorite. Awesome content as usual, JR!

Great interior swap. Get those rugs clean and it'll be like new.
Thanks!
Thank you! 💯
So happy you’re back to this kind of content. This is what made me sub forever ago in the first place.

Good to see Old Man Sanchez from the neighbourhood participating in todays vlog.
JR back to doin' what he does best Flippin' & Winning! That interior just made this a pretty good earner.

Honestly I'd pressure test the cooling system... 257 isn't crazy on an aluminum engine, but it's worth a quick check 🍻
@@WatchJRGo thanks!
You did a great job vacuuming but damn the carpet yuck
Thank you, awesome refurb project and so glad to be back home JR. Engaging driveway turnarounds!

Jake for the rescue 🎉
You should have taken the filthy carpet out and pressure washed it before putting in the new seats.

Good thing they left you some armor all wipes to help clean it up.
Man you just go for it. Excellent tutorial.
Can't wait for more Escalade videos.
What is the status with this vehicle? Is there going to be another video here soon?
Some Clyde's seat dye and cleaner will really make those nice seats look better.
I think the middle seats you bought are for the SWB.
Different thumbnail than I saw this morning? I like :)
I would have stripped the interior out and given the carpet a thorough deep chemical cleaning. It looks gnarly.
