I FIXED The ENTIRE INTERIOR Of My Abandoned Cadillac Escalade For $400

  • I've found this 2011 Cadillac Escalade ESV that needs saving and drug it back to my house. It was abandoned at a local shop after they told the owner it needed everything replaced. They might actually be right, basically everything on this truck has been beat into the ground. A quick search on Marketplace turned up an entire interior that was the right color and in great shape for just $400. Today we're going to get it all installed and then sell the old interior to recoup some of my money. The cheapest Escalade truly is the most expensive Escalade you can buy.

    Common Questions:
What motorcycle do I ride? A few. Ducati 1198, Honda Goldwing, Honda Grom, Honda Ruckus
What do I do for a living? Make RUclips videos.
Can you wheelie? No, I suck.
Are you fast? Sort of. I suck mostly though.
Where can I keep up with you off the bike?

Facebook: WatchJRGo (or JRGo, FB hates my branding)
Do you go to school? College, for 2 classes.
Why do you ride so dangerously? What do mean? I was doing 25.
Do you go to the track? Of course, hopefully there will be videos in the future.
Do you play video games? No, but I might stream N64 Goldeneye at some point. Twitch: WatchJRGo
Are you afraid the police will watch your videos and arrest you? Something something evidence something something warrants and due process of law

Before you start stripping the seat frame down to get it off the base, I’d investigate if it’s easier to swap the seat covers over, they’re usually just clipped on all around the base and the back rest might come apart once you take the hinge bolts out.
Try taking one of the old seats apart first.

What an improvement on the interior. I'm kind-of surprised that you didn't steam clean or use some Tuff Stuff on the carpet under the front seats before installing the new ones though, it sure looked nasty under there. Yeah it did bother me too but tbh with these older vehicles as a one man band time really is of the essence. It takes so long to wet vac an interior that size and often smells get worse if you don't get 100% of it all out. It's a tough call. It might be a caddy but it's still a whupped high mileage one at that!

If you want to upgrade the built in Car2U garage door opener to work with modern rolling code doors and gates you can get a Homelink out of an overhead console from a newer or similar Enclave, Outlook, Terrain, or Acadia for ~$30. This, I believe, works for all the GM trucks made up to 2014.
I upgraded one in a 2010 ESV to one from a 13-17 Enclave. Two differences I noticed is the plug fits in upside down and the button texture is slightly different. Flawless otherwise.

Was hoping you’d get into the heat and cooling of drivers seat. Common failure in Escalades. My 2009 seat stopped working. A DIY fix would be very helpful.

You should have just popped the entire interior out and power washed the carpet. Then after a few days of drying put it back together. Get some of that nastiness out!

I'm assuming you got seats from a Tahoe/ Yukon/ Escalade... that would explain the weird bracket shape anyways giving the 2nd row is closer to the rear axle in those.

Man aren’t you glad that you are not working for that company any more. Best thing is when they let you go.

If you keep doing all of that you are going to turn it into a 18k Escalade. After a good detail and new engine. and you fix the power running boards. There are instructions online on taking them apart for a full cleaning then using anti cease and then they work great again.

Instead of taking apart the seats and changing bases you could try just changing the seat covers, might be a little easier.

hello, good program I never miss them I have a question about an engine. which is what gives greater strength to the 2.3 Duratec engine that the Ford Mondeo or fusion 2006 brings with 160 HP, being that it is the same engine that the Ranger 2.3 Duratec 2007 brings, only here it produces 143 HP. thanks greetings
