    Thanks heaps! It's a great tip and makes the map so much better.

    I have found that even if you position the dividers perfectly, the i7 will still pass through them a little bit during its edge-cleaning phase. It seems to just be how the algorithm works.

      Yeah, and honestly, that's fine. Like...it's annoying to watch and gets on my nerves, but the job of a robot vacuum is to clean the stuff you want it to clean. And it does. It's not as efficient as a LIDAR vac, but the practical differences are essentially non-existent. The only things I really don't like about the i7 are how bad it is at mapping (and how long that takes are a consequence) and how hard it slams into furniture because of its crappy infrared front sensor.

    Wow, this is great! My house has lots of 45 degree meeting 90 degree transitions, just like your kitchen. This will really help make the map accurate.
    Another small issue I've had is that, while the map supports rotating room divider lines, it doesn't allow rotating threshold areas -- and most of my thresholds are on 45 degrees. But from another of your vids, I now understand that the threshold areas simply disable the tilt sensor, so I can use larger rectangular blocks to incorporate those thresholds.
    Thanks!

    Why my braava jet m6 gets confused while cleaning? I am looking to buy another roboot can you please suggest which brand is great? Thanks

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  Год назад

      Because it's dumb and camera navigation is dumb. I suggest the Roborock, either S7 MaxV Ultra or S8 Pro Ultra.

    Mine ran out of battery on the first map. How do I get it to learn the rest of the house?

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  Год назад

      It should recharge and resume. Make sure you have that enabled in the app. I'm pretty sure it's enabled by default. Also, you can have it map instead of clean, which will make the battery last a lot longer.

    It appears you may need to adjust the diagonal divider in the app. Play around with it and see how that works.

    • @MrRoombato

      I'm not sure I understand. I got the shape I wanted. What do I need to adjust?

      @@Dvw87 Moving it away from the actual divider? I tried that, it overshot anyway. In any case, I don't use it anymore. It's a horrid little thing compared to more modern mopping robots.

    What is the name of the app? Because I am using iRobot home and there is no map..

    • @MrRoombato
      @MrRoombato  2 года назад

      That is the correct app. Look just below the robot's picture on the right side of the screen. There should be a little icon there with the words map.

      @@gulafshan7021 Is the 694 a mapping robot? If it is, you have to send it out on a few full cleaning or mapping runs to get a map.

      @@MrRoombato I have the i3 and the iRobot app. It shows a picture of the vacuum and says ready to go but I can not find a map anywhere except where it shows cleaning history which is useless as I can’t map from it. - how do I create a map and have it saved and name the rooms 🤦‍♂️ just got it a few day ago and I’ve been all over in this app trying to do just that

    Makes no sense that Roomba engineers did not use polygons - modern OO-code makes this elementary. It’s easier to conclude they intentionally omitted this routine, basic feature.
